Erebus, orbit; The "Harbinger" slowly approached Erebus, not needing to jump to hyperspace over the short distance. Commander Calo stood at the Pel'tak of the Tal'ryn cruiser, maneuvering the ship, "Brace, I'm bringing us in for a landing..." "Commander!" A jaffa spoke up from a different console, "the gate on this planet seems to be active....theres some sort of signal coming through. No life signs around the gate though." "Be ready with the Rai Cannons, I'm bringing us in slowly." The cruiser began its descent, entering the thick atmosphere of Erebus. The clouds in the sky were black, but did not completely block out the sun. Breaking through the thin layer of black smokey clouds a large forest came into view. Various mountain ranged stood tall, some of which seemed to be putting this black smoke into the atmosphere. Geysers around these mountains could be seen, gushing hot water, steam and toxic gasses. A clearing lay not far from the base of one of the volcanoes, large enough for landing. The "Harbinger" began to hover, before slowly touching down. Three metallic prongs dropped from the corners of the cruiser. "Stay on the weapons", Calo commanded, "Bendak, Jorva your with me." The commander headed towards the ring room, with two of his best in tow. |

As the three Jaffa approached the Stargate, something seemed to be off. The blue event horizon was not stable as it should be, but twirling and flickering. "Don't get too close, I'm going to inform Razh'ek of the situation." Commander Calo stepped away, as Bendak and Jorva stood near the Stargate. "Does the gravity on this planet feel strange to you?" Bendak asked Jorva, who was intensely staring at the strange phenomenon. "Jorva...kree" Bendak tried to get here attention, but it was no use. She stepped forward, looking towards Bendak, "It's an incoming wormhole, right? Nothing to be worried about Bendak." Bendak nodded, turning away to address Calo as he heard the scream. Looking back Jorva was gone. Calo had noticed as well...becoming more frenzied with his report... |

The stargate had deactivated some time ago, and everything seemed to return to normal. Commander Calo knew of only one thing that could cause the time-lapses in transmissions, and the extreme gravitational force translated through the wormhole....a singularity. Calo and Bendak had not forgotten the loss of their sister in battle, Jorva, but they had a job to do. Moving back from the stargate, they headed towards the landing site of the "Harbinger", marking points along the way. Taking off, they marked the points of several important rich naquadah mines, transmitting the coordinates to Saqqara Command. The back engines of the Tal'ryn cruiser lighted up magnificently, pushing the "Harbinger" at amazing speeds toward Saqqara. On the way, Calo looked out as he saw dozens of Tel'tak's and cargo Al'kesh flying towards Erebus. Bendak had stayed behind to oversee construction of a base camp and mining facilities. He would be in charge of the planet. As the Tal'ryn cruiser passed through the net of cargo ships, a screen popped up on Calo's console, indicating an incoming transmission, "Commander Calo, this is Saqqara command. We have determined another planet for investigation within the system, sending coordinates now..." Calo received the coordinates, entering them into the Pel'tak. He turned the ship sharply to the right 90 degrees, and headed straight towards the new coordinates at full speed. No time could be wasted... |
