Im VERY skepticle about Lipoly battery. I've watched and read tons of reviews and I can see the capability of them destroying your truck, even your house. I have heard that each cell is 3.7v. is this correct? I have also read that Lipoly's require to be balanced every few charges? Since im on somewhat of a budget, i've come across this website called HobbyCity. They have alot of lipoly accesories and choices. I have picked out a few reasonable things for me to get. Looking at the voltage, this battery pack seemed decent, especially for the price. http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/store/u...idProduct=6452# Spec. Rated Capacity: 4000mAh Voltage: 7.4v Rated Discharge: 17-23C Weight: 198g (with wires & connectors) Size: 135x43x18mm Is that battery a decent one? Maybe even a "good" one? Now, thats the easy part i rekon. Now I have been searching for a charger, and HobbyCity had them. Searching and spending 2 hours reading reviews, this charger seemed to be decent for the price. http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/store/u...?idProduct=3824 Spec Balance Charge 2-4 Cells Lipo Manual and Auto select charge current. Auto-detect battery type. Identify bad battery Series Charging for Ni-MH Excellent display and menu system Alarm and safety cutoff Battery Repair function Charge Rate Max: 1100mAh Do you guys think this charger is a good one? I'v noticed that almost all of you run Lipoly battery's. Thanks alot for any help. |

That battery looks decent but, it is long and would be hard to find a place to mount it on a truck. I would go with a 1500-2000 mah battery since they are smaller. The run times are still long too. My 1500 Lipo's last about 30-45 mnutes almost twice what my 2/3a NiMH's last. The charger is good except for the 1100mah max charge rate. At that rate it would take almost 4 hours to charge the 4000 mah battery you are considering. HobbyCity it great to deal with but expect to wait a little longer for a shipment. They are located somewhere overseas, I think Hong Kong. 3.7v per cell is correct and they do need to be balanced. |

For a crawler the battery should be fine. The specs on the charger look good also. If you are worried about charging them get a Lipo Sack. I don't use one but it is on my list of things to buy. I would also read this.http://z7.invisionfree.com/Rock_Crawlers_o...p?showtopic=109 If you are trying to pull more amps than the battery can handle it will have a very short life. |

I am SUPER new to Crawling but I use a 3300 Mah battery and I get at least an hour of run time out of it. I did have LI-PO for my RC18 but it got very hot when charging sometimes and made me a nervous wreck. Here is a set up I made.. Posted Image |

Yea I wouldn't be able to leave the battery while its charging. Wouldnt want it to blow my house up... Destroyer showed me a video of a lipo exploading and yeah that pretty much made me say im sticking to regular batteries |
