My Hitec 225mg on my VF dig unit gave up the ghost ! I have read that this is a quite normal experience. I had E/P set good, but it got in a bind for a few seconds and smoked. Anyone upgraded to a std servo on theirs, and will it fit AX10 ? I THINK its a servo problem, but the VF will also bind up on me... any tips ? |

I made a mount for a standard servo for mine, but have not had to use it yet. My 225 stays nice and cool with the circuit board mounted externally. Be sure to check the dig every few runs. I had not looked at mine since ECC and it started acting up at the last comp. I opened it up yesterday and all the grease had been slung off and shavings of the softer case and drive gear aluminum were piling up on the hard ano'd center gear. A thin coating of grease seems to work best...too much adds friction and can prevent the gears from engaging all the way. I don't see any reason why a standard servo wouldn't work on the AX-10, other than possible interference from the top electronics plate; not sure how much room there is there? |
