ax 10 rtr steering upgrade!!; for under $20

well for the ax 10 being such a good truck it was an insult that they put the plastic steering on the rtr.

you know me... i had to fix mine.


6/32 threaded rod 3ft $5.00 (ace hardware)

traxxas rod ends $4.00 (hobby town)

some spare screws


take a section of threaded rod cut to 13 1/2 cm

screw on rod ends, the set aside.

next, cut anouther pice to 4 1/2 cm this will be the short part that connects to the servo.


on the longer piece mesure one cm from each rod end and make a 30 degree amgle bend.


install and use!

Yup, common trick from the old days. You will want to sleeve the links with some brakeline or alu though, otherwise you will break/bend the allthread very easily, especially with the way you had to bend it. Once you get it sleeved it should work well.

Note to self, NEVER USE ALLTHREAD WITHOUT COVERING. I used it for bent links, and as destroyer showed you about your geometry, mine SNAPPED with the force of 2 backflips and erics little puppy haha
