The 16 tooth pinion slowed it down a hair (probably 3-5 mph or so). The batteries and esc were warm. The motors were a little hotter. Had pretty good punch off the bottom. I think I like it a little better like this... The shocks did extremely well as did the tires. Jumps pretty good too. I am really starting to love the maxx...

Looks good, I think the bigger body looks better. Did you run it with the stock shocks? I will have to bring mine to Kellogg in 2 weeks. |

Yeah, the other body is a lot better looking on it, just use this one for bashing and video. I ran it briefly when I first got it to make sure it worked, but not any longer than about 5 minutes. It seemed way too soft. The rear end kicks up a little right now so I may adjust the shock oil in the rear. The front is about perfect feeling. Give me a few weeks and I will have it figured out a little better. There are a couple great spots around my area to run it in to get a nice all around tune for gearing and the suspension... I did pick up some new skids as well for it along with the wear plates that rpm sells. If I ever break them I will go to a titanium skid. Hopefully won't have too as long as I pay attention with my driving. It is very predictable in the air. I was use to the balance of my Revo so you can see it go nose up several times in the first few jumps in the vid. After a few more tries I started to get it flying nice and level. Even if it got out of kilter I was always able to correct it with the throttle and brake inputs. The tires give it a ton of stability as well. I am using the stock full foam in them with no air holes. I was examining the slow motion footage to see how it was reacting and the tires looked to be taking some of the impacts as well. Every little bit helps for sure. They don't seem to bounce, good traction on all surfaces, and the sidewalks don't try to roll over. I will bring it to the comp with me. You can drive it and see how you like the set-up I am running. I should also have my slash as well. |

Diffs, new motors and batteries. New shocks would be nice as well since most are probably long void of oil. So basically most of the critical parts. :retard: |

This is the driveshaft loosing the e-clip problem. Posted Image So far this is the 2nd one to do this. Both have been the front shafts. Luckily I found this before it slid half way out and broke the shaft. |

I need to go check mine... Never had a problem on my REVO when I had it though. Would a dab of silicon or tread locker hold it in you think? |

I checked the Traxxas forum and a few others have had the problem of loosing the e-clips. So I guess some silicone or loctite may not hurt. |

I am going to get mine out tomorrow some more than likely. When I do I will check mine and see if they are trying to back out. Did you try the red locktite yet? Is it the same one or does it happen to different ones. If it is the same one the groove may have been cut too deep in the pin allowing the e-clip to come out. |

Got it out today and beat on it pretty hard. My driveshaft pins were fine as well... I did chip a skid so I picked up another one as well as some rpm wear plates. Apparently they bolt to the skid to protect it more. The center one isn't supposed to work on the new style maxx, but the fr and rr onew are. I bet I can make the center work, though, with the use of a drill motor and a file... I will post up some pics when I do. |

Please do show pics of the wear plate install. RPM's site says it requires some modification  |

Got some updates to post for today... I just got the RPM Maxx rear conversion completed as well as a new black rear skid and rpm wear plate. Instead of using the stock screw in pins on the arms I used the Traxxas stainless upgrade pins. All of the stock ones were slightly bent in the rear and one had completely sheared off in the wreck. I also bent the screws in the rpm bulk, but I changed them out for new stronger ones so that should be good. Tomorrow I will tear into the front as well as modify the rpm center skid to fit. RPM kit vs stock: Posted Image RPM kit complete with new skid and wear plate: Posted Image Posted Image Everything bolted right up with no further modifications needed. The RPM center skid will require a little work, but I think I can make it fit. The front should more or less be identical to the back that is pictured above... |

More done tonight... I had to trim the center skid... I just couldn't get it to work right. I was able to use part of it, though, for a little additional protection. I also got a new front skid and wear plate on. I still need to do the front arms. I did find out, though, that I will have to find some cvd's to run. The pro-line shocks rub the new revo sized drive shafts mounted on the rpm arms. They don't rub on the lowest setting, but I only have about an 1.5" of gc then... "shinny?" this is coming from the guy with the spanking brand new black chrome e-revo... LOL   I dont think rpm makes revo skids... The ones on mine are just wear plates over the stockers. Their arms are awesome though. I have always had a lot of luck with RPM products. I think I have almost everyone of their parts on this build... LOL |

Well, finally got the EMAXX finished today. RPM all the way around except for the front knuckles. I was able to space the shocks off the driveshafts good enough for now. I will probably go to cvd's in the future to eliminate the issue. I also got the reinforcement rock rings on the wheels as well as replaced the one face plate the chipped on the lip. Posted Image Posted Image Here are a few comparison pics Chris took at his house... Posted Image Posted Image  |
