Most of you saw the body today, but heres what Im doing:

*Pic by Destroyer*

Destroyer showed that to me last night and I fell in love with it. Went to pirate and found the build thread wich is here: http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread....=551947&page=22
and messaged Kirby(the owner of Slinky) and he totally loved the Idea of me building an RC version of his rig. So far I have the body just about ready for a cage. Its the mini Jeep rubicon from Newbright. Plannin on running axial based with a cutup xtrail chassis. Normal 4 link, nothing special there. I want all the resemblance to be with Tires/rims and body work. Pics later, got me a USB :rockn:

Day 1 of bodywork so far B)

The old xtrail I will be using. going to cut off right where the body meets the chassis on either end. As you can see, the shock mounts are right where i need them to be.

Dash is getting widened to fill out the full new width of the interior, and I will be doing some styrene to cover the holes in the body. Also on the rear fenders and tailgate I will be using real thin sheet metal so it dents up. This is going to be fun :D

You are going to have to do some serious cutting to run that chassis low like the 1:1.

Should be cool though, his is a fun Jeep to watch.

I plan on cutting the rear of the body and having the shock mounts come through the bed, and just hiding them with a fuel cell. I know he doesnt have one in his jeep, but its the best way I know to hide it.

Yeah, I want to see somemore jumping videos

I believe he does have a fuel cell behind the seats. Shocks just go thru the tub and bolt to the cage so you could copy that easy enough.

Ok sounds cool. I guess i could bolt the cage to the rear shock mounts? then bolt the shocks to the cage?

Thanks 'Turd :D Got some more body work done. Filled in those gaps where the door was, still working on the right side, but the left side is done. I also shortened the WB on the xtrail to fit the body, and I also cut the rails for the body to fit over the top of them. Pics tomorrow

Well, heres day 2 and day 3 of bodywork! :D

I got to work on the doors trying to get the cracks filled in and I feel pretty good about it. Threw the old cage back on the jeep and it will do until I get the real cage built. Here are some pics:

The swinging tailgate needs to be perfected. Im going to try and make a cool latching system for it and it should be done. The bed still needs work. Im going to leave it the way it is for now until I can get the real cage build up for it and all that cool stuff. Im going to do some more sanding on the fenders and the doors and then im taking the stickers off and start painting :D
I still need to get 4 tires and rims and 2 tlt shocks
