Alternate SC vehicles?

Not having a Slash, Slayer, or SC10 or the cash to pick one up right now, I'm wondering what other vehicles can play well in the same format.

For example, I've got an old Schumacher Fireblade buggy that I picked up at the last swap meet. I think it's 1:14 scale or somesuch. I'm about to drop a Mamba system in it to see what breaks on it first.

What about reworking a Stampede?

Is there anything that separates the short-course trucks from other vehicles in the scale apart from their looks?

There will be a HUGE size difference that could be an advantage or disadvantage depending on the situation

It is larger that the Rustler, longer chassis plus the body is larger & covers the wheels, but shares some of the same parts in the running gear & other parts as the Rustler. The tires on the Slash are the same outer diameter as a 2.2 off-road truck tire, they are not as wide.

Well, as I researched i can take parts off of my rustler and put it on my slash. Like the steering will be the first thing i replace on my slash since i have a complete aluminum system for it. But you could take a rusty front and rear end and just buy a complete slash chassis with shocks and everything and have a rusty-slash

I've got a Slash & leaving it stock so i can race in the "Slash Class". If you look at most of the tracks that run the class you can't change a lot, most of the time it's the shock caps & oil that you can change. The reason this class sounds great to me is you don't have to sink a lot of cash into the truck to race & maybe be in the front(i've spent upwards of $200.00 per race on tires alone). But if you are bashing it i guess the sky is the limit or lets say the "wallet" limit.
