<center>A beautiful young woman with wavy brown hair climbs out of a little red sports car. She was wearing a white tank top and a pair of green loose shorts with white stripes up the side. She pulls a bag out of the car and walks towards a large building. It was dark out, but the lights in the building were still on, casting a shadow over her. The letters of YMCA show light up above the entranceway. She walks through the doors and the receptionist at the desk smiles at her as she waves a little badge through.

“Good evening Ms. Greene.”

“Hey Gloria, how are you doing? Feeling better from the surgery right?”

“I’m fine, thanks for asking.” The receptionist smiles a little lopsided smile and Farrah Greene returns it with one of her beautiful ones before continuing on down the hallway.

She makes a few turns until she gets to a room with the door wide open. She turns and walks in. There was a gaggle of girls in a group chatting away. They look up when they heard someone come into the room. They smile when they see who it was.

“Oh Farrah,” one of the girls says, walking up to her. “We heard about your big news.”

Farrah turns her head to the side, looking at the girl, around maybe 18 years old, questioningly. “What news would that be?”

“About you getting accepted to SCW silly!” Another girl puts in with a big goofy grin on her face.

The girls around her squeak with joy and start to giggle. Farrah smiles, now understanding what they were talking about. “Ah yes, I’m now a professional wrestler.”

“That’s so amazing Farrah. You’ve done so many things in your life and you’re so young. I know we all wish that we were just like you.” Yet another girl says.

“I’ve only done those things because I’ve had ambition. I didn’t care about any limitations that were in my way. I was born and raised here but that doesn’t mean that I’m stuck here. I can go and do whatever I want to as long as I put my mind to it.”

“That’s so inspiring!” They all say together and Farrah again smiles at the younger girls.

“Do you know when your first match is?” The first one asks.

“Actually yes I do. I just got notified today by my agent actually. He says that my first match is next Wednesday on Breakdown.”

“Oh really? Who are you facing?”

“Well I’m against these girls Lenne Perez and Liana Thorten. I so can’t wait to face them in my first match as a wrestler ever!” The girls again start to squeal and giggle madly. Farrah looks down at her watch. “Well it’s time to start the class. Everyone get ready.”

The girls get into their lines as Farrah takes her place at the head of the classroom. This was her class. This was her element. She taught self defense to women, volunteer of course. She thought she would give back to the community that she grew up in and tried to make where she lived, a safer place for women. She smiles a little as she teaches these girls how to protect themselves from perverts and muggers. She knew that these girls would be prepared if anything should happen to them.

As the class draws to an end Farrah brushes back her hair and smiles at the class. “Well thank you very much girls, it has been a wonderful night. I hope to see you again next week.”

“You mean you’re still going to teach us?” One of the girls asks, ecstatically.

“Of course I am! I love teaching here and being with you girls. Just because I have SCW, doesn’t mean that it’s going to take away my time here. Does my modeling? No because this class it too important to me.” She says with a big smile.

The girls clap and cheer, making Farrah’s smile even wider. She goes and packs things up as the girls get there things together and head out, but not before promising that they would all watch her on Wednesday.

When the room was cleared, Farrah sits down on the table in the room and takes out a piece of paper from her bag. She unfolds it and looks down at it, as if it was something really important. She shrugs and balls it up, throwing it into the garbage.

“You know what that was? That was the transcript of Lenne Perez’s promo she did.” Farrah sighs and shakes her head a little. “Why is it that girls like her always think that they know everything just from reading a stupid bio that I submitted? I guess I’ll have to go back and correct all the things that she said wrong. I never knew, going into SCW that there were so many divas like her out there. And what I mean by that is dumb and ugly who think they’re all that just because they have a rack the size of Texas. But whatever, on to what Lenne said that totally isn’t right.”

“I’m sorry, but however well you think you know Calvan Greene, you obviously don’t, or else he would have told you that I’m his cousin. But our family tie really has nothing to do with our wrestling in the same federation or wrestling at all. I just thought you’d like to know, that we are family no matter what you think. But anyways…”

“I’m sorry you feel that I’m fat at 129 lbs. I’m sorry I can’t be a freakish giant like you at 6’4”. I’m also sorry that I’m not anorexic. I actually have respect for my body unlike you. And by the way, all that is muscle, my fat body content is 12%, what’s yours? 60%? Oh and no matter what you think about coming from Massachusetts, stars come from all over not just California. Are you really that naive? I’m not a movie star, I’m not a rock or pop star, I’m a super model and now a wrestler. Did you know that Liya Kebede was from Ethiopia? She wasn’t born in California, but still she’s a star, a super model like me. I’ve been fortunate enough to work with her actually. She’s beautiful.”

“But Lenne, please, stop talking about things you have no idea about. You should really learn when to keep your mouth shut when you don’t know someone. Don’t think you do just by reading a little about them. You’ve never seen me in the ring, well neither have I really, but that’s beside the point. I just want to warn you, I’m a black belt in kickboxing. I know how to take care of myself, especially from a person like you. So if I were you, I’d zip it.”

“As for my other opponent, welcome to SCW, I’m also new. So I hope that this will be a good match and maybe us new girls can teach this Lenne a lesson for being such a judgmental… I don’t know if I can actually say the word for what she is. Kids could be listening.” Farrah shakes her head angrily and pushes back some of her brown hair and jumps off of the table she was sitting on.

“Well that’s all from “The Star” Farrah Green for right now"

Farrah Greene sits in the front seat of her little red sports car. She was driving pretty fast down the highway, the top of the car down, the wing pulling her hair as she goes. She wears a pair of big sunglasses and a little red dress. She was on her way to a photo shoot. She gets off the ramp of the highway and takes a left. She drives a little farther down the road until she turns off into a parking lot of a modeling agency. She parks the car in an empty parking space and gets out of the car. She walks quickly over to the door, knowing that she was late already. She had accidentally slept in.

She walks past the receptionist and gives her a little wave before heading down the hall for the hair and makeup. Her hair was a mess. It didn’t help that she had road all the way here with the top down. The makeup and hair people see Farrah walk in and rush over to her.

“You’re finally here Ms. Greene!” One of the makeup ladies says as she starts to apply the makeup.

“We were worried you weren’t going to show up.” A hair person adds.

“Oh come now, when have you ever known me to not be at a photo shoot? This is my job after all. I was just a bit late.” Farrah says, waving her hand as the hair and makeup people surround her and work as quickly as they can to make up for lost time. “Oww!” Farrah grabs her hair.

“Sorry, but it’s full of snarls, what did you do? Roll around in mud?” The hair lady says.

Farrah sticks out her tongue. “No I didn’t, I rode with the top down, just to annoy you Jean.”

“Very nice.” Jean replies.

Suddenly a tall man with short brown hair walks into the room. He was wearing a grey suit and a blue button up shirt. He was talking on a cell phone in some forgiven language. Farrah guessed it was Chinese, but she could be wrong. As soon as he sees her he stops talking.

“I’ll call you back…” The man says and hangs up the phone. He walks slowly over to her and Farrah gives him a warm smile.

“Hey-”

“Oh no no, no ‘hey’ me Farrah. You’re late! Do you know how much talking and excuse making I had to do in order for you to keep this shoot?” He says, in a tone that only hinted at his anger.

Farrah looks a little hurt and reaches up, touching his arm lightly. The anger in him seems to desolve. “I know, I’m sorry about that Ryan. That’s why I have you because you’re a good talker and can keep me gigs like this when I sleep in.” She gives him another little smile. “I’m so glad I have you as my agent.”

“Yeah… well you make my job not so easy.”

“But would you really not want to have me as your client?” Farrah looks up at him with puppy dog eyes.

“Well…. No, I guess not. But try and be here on time next shoot!” Ryan turns around and walks back out the way he had come from. Farrah just smiles a little as the hair and makeup people get done with her.

--A few hours later—

Farrah sits back out in her little sports car. She stretches a little, tired from a day’s work of posing in front of a camera. She shakes her head and a little and takes a deep breath. “Alright, so here Lenne goes, flapping her mouth again. Is it just me or dose the words and things she says just all get so old so soon? I mean I’ve only been here for what, less then a week? And already I’m bored with all the crap she says. Where does she get off talking like that?”

“Ok, Lenne, let me break it down for you. I know I haven’t been in wrestling for long, this being my first match and all, but there’s one thing I got to tell you that I know about this game. When you start running your mouth on and on and on, people will get fed up with listening to you say crap about them and when enough people really don’t like you, you’ve got a problem. Now my little cousin isn’t here to save you.”

“But no, I’m not here to be your mortal enemy, I’m not even here because I want to fight you. I’m here to fight the real competition, not just little divas that think they’re the hottest shit. Girl, if you’re calling me fucking ugly, then you obviously haven’t looked in a mirror in quite some time. Or in a magazine at least. If I was ugly, then why the hell am I a model while you’re out there running into doors and stealing makeup? I’ll tell you why, because I am twice the woman you’ll ever be and you’re just jealous. And like people say, misery loves company, so you try and bring every girl around you down into your little whole. Well let me tell you something Lenne, I’m not going to fall into your little whole of misery. I have too many other things to occupy my time then to dwell on the crap that comes spewing out of your mouth day after day.”

“Liana, I hope you show up for this match, I really don’t want to be the only one in that ring with Lenne. I’m not saying that because I’m scared of her, oh no, not in any way shape or form. I’m saying that because I know sometimes I can get a little carried away and if there is someone else in the ring, it will help keep me in check.”

“Oh, and I am a star, remember that.”

Farrah starts her car and drives off into the setting sun.

Liana Thorten

The scene opens up in a dimly lit training facility. One look around would give the notion that the place had been abandoned years ago. Tattered ropes barely find themselves in tact as they dangle from a mat full of tape and blood stains. Sitting right across from it is the beautiful redhead known as Liana Thorten. She rises from her seat slowly and begins to walk toward the ring. But rather then step inside she paces around the squared circle, smirking a little bit.

Liana ~ “I remember a time when this room was filled with eager students, and that ring with young hopefuls. I was one of them and look where I am now. I’ve got a big match coming up, my debut and for some reason I just can’t find the words to describe it. I know it’s kind of weird to be an up and coming star with no huge ego or with a chatter box and nothing to back it up with. I guess I just can’t help but be a little humbled by the whole thing. When I was approached with the opportunity to join SCW I was like a little girl after realizing her favorite band was coming into town to play. I jumped up and down, did cartwheels, the whole la di da. But now that it’s barely a day away from my grand entrance, I’ve got nothing inside me but those damn butterflies and I’m still loving every minute of it.”

Liana stops pacing for a moment and gets up onto the apron. She motions to get inside the ring but decides against it. Instead she adjusts herself so that she can sit comfortably on it, or at least try her best to considering the condition.

Liana ~ “You know when I first got to this place I was grossed out but I’ve really gotten use to it. I can almost call it home, a really dirty home but…well you get the idea. But enough about me stammering on, since that’s all I seem to be doing. Let’s change the focus to my match tonight. When I first got faxed the card as most call it, I looked at the names and was kind of clueless as to who I was facing, not to be mean of course it’s just that I’m not really out in the scene yet. But anyway, so like any smart person I decided to get some inside info about them to see what I’m working with and man was I…actually I didn’t pay much attention to the tapes since I got too bored but oh well I’m sure that it won’t matter since when it’s time to go out and do my thing I’ll easily kick the wholly hell out of both of those…”

Liana’s demeanor changes for a quick second to the of a sly smirk, but she quickly returns to her homely smile as if she were fixing herself. She then gets off the apron and looks away, her head tilting a bit upward as if she was away in her own jumbled thoughts.

Liana ~ “…I feel guilty for saying this, but I want to win. I want to be the best and in order to do that I have to dash the dreams of two other women who I’m sure are just as worthy as I am if not more. I’ve tried to come to terms with the fact that in order to make it in the business I love I have to be a little rough and not give a damn about anyone else. Not that I’m not tough I’ve just always been the kind to care a lot about people, which is not such a bad thing but it could really bite me in the ass if I’m not too careful. Damn, I really lose track of things quickly don’t I? One minute I’m talking about myself, the next my match and then I go off who knows where. I don’t know maybe every things all jumbly because I’m nervous. That or it could just be a problem of mine that I haven’t notice in my many long years of life.”

Liana laughs off the comment, going back over to where she was sitting before, looking to her jacket and sighing as she grabs it.

Liana ~ “It’s sad what happened to this place, it really is. I wish that it was still up and running. I could’ve asked for some final advice before going ahead with this or I might have even gotten one of those mean pep talks where I get yelled at and told not to worry about this match. But I guess some things happen for a reason and by the time tomorrow comes this place will be knocked down and replaced with a gigantic shopping center, or at least it’ll be part of a gigantic shopping center since this isn’t really a big enough space to put in a giant…nevermind. You know what I think I need to adjust myself if I’m ever going to do anything right here in the SCW.”

Liana tightens her grip on her jacket before storming out of the decrepit wrestling school. She opens the door, pausing, as she stares outside for a moment. She then slams the door behind her, frustration shown through her actions as she now faces a long thought process.

Cameras come on the air to show Liana Thorten walking down the hallway of what appears to be a hotel. She walks swaying her hips a bit but not too much before she comes to a stop, pulling out a key card and then entering the room. She walks over to the bed where she lies down, making herself more comfortable before directing her attention to the camera.

Liana ~ “So this right now is my time to shine, my big break. The chance to show those great people out there what I have and who I am. So let me stop with the bullshit and get right down to the point. That whole first cutesy promo is not what you’ll be getting from me anymore. It was just an example of what you people expect from a woman, actually no it’s what you expect from a goodie hero. Well sorry to disappoint you all but…”

Liana stops herself mid-sentence as she reevaluates her speech she then slams her hand against the bed huffing as her expression turns more serious.

Liana ~ “What the fuck am I doing? This isn’t me, well at least I thought it wasn’t. I don’t even know anymore this whole thing’s driving me nuts. I don’t know maybe I’m pushing myself too hard or over thinking things. I just have to try and remember what’s most important to me as far as this business is concerned, which is to go out there do my best and put a smile on the faces of the fans. Hopefully if my message I did earlier gets through and I see a familiar face, I’ll know what to do because this whole pre-match jitters thing is out of control.”

Liana goes to her bag and fumbles around with different items until she finds her cell phone. She takes a quick look at it noticing she missed a call. She smiles a bit after seeing who it was and goes to call back but then hears the door to her hotel room being knocked so she walks over to it instead. She opens the door and smiles as she sees her old friend standing there with a smile on her face and her hands at her hips. The two lovely ladies hug each other, with Liana inviting her friend in not too long after.

Liana ~ “Madison, I’m so glad you were able to make it. I need a friend like you right now I feel as though my head’s going to explode I’m so emotional.”

Madison ~ “Look don’t sweat it, it’s just that this is your first time working for an actual promotion and you’re getting major nerve syndrome. It happens to everyone, all you got to do is say fuck it and just get it done with so you can move on to your short term and long term goals whatever they are. And by the way since you never seem to even plan ahead I brought an outfit I think will look sexy as fuck for your big night.”

Liana ~ “Maddy, you’re the best.”

Madison ~ “Save it until you get all successful like I am, then you can thank me for everything. Just try your best to remember everything our trainer taught us and do the exact opposite. Trust me it’ll work best that way.”

Liana ~ “What are you talking about? I thought the advice Joma gave to us was pretty good.”

Madison ~ “You actually bought into that crap about caring for the fans and giving it your best effort so you can gain life experience? Damn I thought I was the fuck up in that place but hearing that I surrender that title to you.”

Liana ~ “Okay, now you’re just being mean. I loved the advice given to me and I’m going to stand by it. The fans are what counts, they’re the ones who purchase the tickets for the shows.”

Madison ~ “And we’re the ones who kill ourselves while those fucktards sit there are soak it all in, just to forget it the next day while we suffer the pain for weeks. Yeah the fans matter my ass. It’s all about you, Liana, you have to see things that way in order to make it in our industry, believe me. You don’t want to end up one of those sorry ass babyfaces losing every week because they care more about the fans and lose focus on the task at hand. Remember you’re in it to win and if you’re not then you’re in the wrong business.”

Madison gets up from the bed walking out and closing the door behind her before Liana can get a word of response in. She puts her head down a bit in thought, obviously feeling the impact of her friend’s harsh words to her. She lays back, looking to the door once again.

Liana ~ “That’s not true, it can’t be. I’m sure that if I stick by my method that I’ll make it. I’ll show her and if I do end up wrong, I’ll know it by the end of the show.”

Liana’s facial expression changes to a more relieved one, her eyes softening as she lays back on the bed while the camera crew make their exit from the room.

{What have I gotten myself into this time? It’s been so long since I’ve felt this kind of pressure that I can’t even tell what anything looks like anymore. It’s all just one big blur I can’t seem to make clear, Hopefully by the end of tonight I’ll get things straightened out.}

Liana’s eyes pop open, freeing her from her sleep like state. She looks around to notice that she’s still in the rent-a-car making its way to her hometown from the airport in Reno. Freeway signs quickly pass to and from her sight before she turns her attention to the driver who seems way too quiet for her taste.

Liana ~ “Hey driver, how much longer ‘til I’m at the arena. I’m not rushing you or anything, just can’t help but be a little curious.”

Driver ~ “Well ma’am from the way traffic’s finally settled and done with it’ll take about a half an hour or a little more to get to your home. Going to an event by any chance, I noticed you only had a few suitcases with you.”

Liana ~ “Yes, I’m going to perform for a show and then stay in town for a night before heading out on the road again, it’s a part of my career. I don’t get to see them much so when they ask me to and I have time, I go. You know what I mean right?”

Driver ~ “I believe I do, I’m not sure what it is that you do for a living exactly but having a job at a car service takes away time spent with family too. If you don’t mind my asking, what do you do for a living?”

Liana chuckles a little, fixing her posture somewhat and smirking more, using her body language to show that she’s proud of what she’s about to say.

Liana ~ “Nah, I don’t mind at all, you see I wrestle for a living, but since you don’t seem too into it, I won’t get into all the detail about my career. But I will tell you this I’m looking forward to one of the biggest nights of my life, doing something I love and I’m nervous as can be. If you’re wondering why it’s pretty simple, I’m going to be in a triple threat match with two very formidable opponents. Now I have no clue as to who I’ll end up pinning if I win with since it could be anyone of the other two but I’ll make damn sure that the people get one hell of a show and that it’s my arm raised in victory.”

Driver ~ “Okay so you’re going to go and win I’m sure you’ll blast away all the others. Would you by any chance want to be the number one champion or whatever it is that you call it after you win?”

Liana ~ “Well of course I want to be the Women’s Champion! What I mean is that you have a great point but up until now I haven’t been given any kind of chance at all to win any title especially since I just joined the company. But now that I have my chance at being in a major promotion I’m not going to waste it, even though I must admit this whole being in the spotlight thing is new for me. Maybe it’s because I’m a shy type chick, I have no honest clue. But hey this is a big opportunity for me and it gets me close to my craving for gold.”

Driver ~ “You might be right about you being a shy kind of girl or maybe you don’t want so much to be in the spotlight as much as you want to just wrestle and put on a good show. You know, not so enthusiastic because you’re too hungry to settle on something you know is unsatisfying or not what you want. But that’s just what I’m guessing, I don’t know a thing about you.”

Liana sits back a bit more, straightening her form as she looks out the window once again. She smirks, closing her eyes nodding a bit before looking back to the driver, adjusting herself once more.

Liana ~ “You know for some random cabbi driver, you’re one hell of a smart analyzing person. Maybe you should ditch the wheels and start getting paid big time giving people some therapy. Being a shrink seems like a natural thing for you, honest. Plus, it could help you out with seeing your family more too, you never know.”

Driver ~ “Well what about you? Why don’t you follow that advice too? You know you could also have something else out there that you’re a natural in and can allow you to spend more time with those who care about you?”

Liana ~ “I can’t man, this is my dream and I won’t walk away from it now. I almost did once but I was brought back to it so in a way I know I have to do this and I want to with every bit of my self, sort of like a thing of fate that I must and want to make happen. Plus I’m the kind of woman who when she feels she has something to prove she goes all out. I plan on sticking with wrestling for quite a while. But you know, aside from all that, I got to thank you for the talk, it’s helped out and made me ready to face my fans and co-workers like a calming chat.”

Liana’s smirk turns into a small smile as if on cue the driver draws closer to her destination for the evening. The vehicle comes to a stop in front of the arena, Liana still looking from the inside as the driver exits the vehicle, opening the trunk and taking the few cases Liana had with her inside the arena. She sighs, opening the car door, heading over to her new "home". She waves once to the driver who tips his hat to her in response. Liana smiles a little to herself, relieved that she had an enjoyable ride before entering the arena to see some new faces.
