OOC: I rushed this rp to get up tonight, because I will be out all night and most of tomorrow. This is my last rp as Grenier.....so you know I HAD to include Rickroll. If you find it funny, good. If you hate it, then PISS OFF. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Late Sunday Night, June 8th The scene opens up inside a bar a few miles outside of Los Angeles. David Grenier bursts through the door of the bar and then mopes into the bar, looking defeated and depressed. Grenier takes a seat at the bar. Bartender: What can I get for you? David: Eh…..get me a shot of Jack Daniel’s. Bartender: You got it, big guy. The bartender goes to get David’s drink. Grenier buries his face in his hands. He then runs his hands through his hair and holds them on the back of his head. The bartender comes back and pours the Jack Daniel’s into a shot glass. Grenier grabs the shot, turns around, and downs it quickly. A blonde woman in her low thirties then walks into bar and has a seat a few seats down from David. She orders her drink and then looks at David, who still looks depressed. Woman: If you don’t mind me asking; what’s wrong? David: You wouldn’t understand…. Woman: Well, I can’t assure you that I will help you, but I will at least listen. Grenier then turns back to face the bartender and orders another shot. The woman frowns and turns to have her drink. Grenier downs the shot and then turns to the woman, who doesn’t notice at first. David: Well I am very confused right now. The woman smiles and turns to David. Woman: Ok…I’m listening. David: Well, I am a wrestler in.. Woman: You’re David Grenier. I just saw you a few hours ago at the show. David: You like wrestling? Woman: Not really. My husband always drags me to these stupid shows. I try not to pay attention, but sometimes I am forced to. David: Where is your husband? Woman: Back home. He was too tired after the show to do anything. I came here to have a quick drink. Later I’m going dancing somewhere. David: Oh… Woman: I’m sorry for interrupting you, though. Go ahead. David: Well anyway, I thought it was my destiny… Woman: To save Majestic Wrestling. My husband was constantly talking about what an idiot you were. David: You think I’m an idiot? Woman: No, not at all. I don’t really buy into what the wrestlers say, because, most of the time, I’m not really listening. I do pay attention to the type of person that the wrestlers are. Regardless of what anyone else thinks, I think that deep down, you are a great person. David: Well…thanks. I am just so confused. Is it not my destiny to save Majestic? Does it really need to be saved at all? I mean, I have devoted my life to this cause for the past month. Has everything I have done in the past month been a waste? Am I just being ridiculous and blowing something way out of proportion? Woman: Well in my opinion…you’re taking this a bit too seriously. You don’t have to “save” Majestic, especially by yourself. It is just going through a different faze, like everything does. If you are going to be a part of it, you should just learn to cope with it. If you don’t like it, then don’t bother with it. David: I guess you’re right…I don’t fit in with Majestic. They have their own style that is different from SCW. I should just accept them for that. Woman: Good; I’m glad we made a breakthrough. David: It isn’t just that, though. You see, in SCW, I am part of the Cherry Pit Crew. Now, you would think as a faction we would always be able to communicate with each other and stick together. However, ever since I have joined them, they seem to exclude me from everything they do. Unless I meet up with them, they never try to talk to me or get in touch with me. I have never teamed with them, despite them being my partners. I don’t understand how I can be a part of their stable without doing anything with the rest of the group. Woman: Well maybe it’s time you break away from them. From what I’ve gathered about you, it seems like you would be better off on your own. David: You think so? Woman: I know so. David: I guess you’re right. I mean, the Pit Crew didn’t get me anywhere. I made the challenge to Shorty Jr. on my own. It isn’t like the Crew got me a title shot. I got it myself, and won a title. I never needed them, did I? Woman: Well it doesn’t seem like you did. David smiles at the woman, who smiles back. David: Thanks a lot….. Woman: It’s Sheryl. David then shakes Sheryl’s hand. David: It was nice to meet you, Sheryl. Sheryl: The pleasure was mine, Mr. Grenier. David: Before you go…do you have any more advice for me? Sheryl: Well…I’m no expert…but I’ll say to just respect what you’re doing. Respect the business. Respect your opponents. Go into every match knowing that regardless of the outcome, you will still be a good person, and your opponent will know it. Showing disrespect to everyone around you does not give you a good image, and your reputation will carry you throughout your career. David: Gee…if I didn’t know any better, I’d say you were a therapist. Sheryl: I am… Sheryl then smiles and starts to walk away, leaving money for her drink behind on the counter. David: What the… Sheryl then stops and the door and turns around. Sheryl: Hey David…would you like to come dancing with me? David: Uh…I don’t know…..I don’t dance… Sheryl: Oh come on. It will be fun. It seems like you had a lot on your plate. You need to clear your mind and relax. You are so tense right now, and that is affecting your performance in the ring. David: You think… Sheryl: I know. So are you coming or not? David: I guess so… Grenier then gets up and heads toward the door. Bartender: Uh…excuse me…. Grenier then aimlessly pulls out a couple of hundred dollar bills and places them on the counter. Bartender: Uh…. David: Take it. The bartender shrugs and Grenier walks out with Sheryl. Grenier and Sheryl walk down the street a few blocks until they reach a night club. Sheryl stops Grenier before they enter. Sheryl: Let me just warn you now; it’s 80’s night. David: Ok… Sheryl then grabs Grenier by the arm and drags him into the club and onto the dance floor. David: Why don’t I just get us something to drink? Sheryl: Don’t be silly. Come on; let’s dance! Luckily for David, the song is just ending. David: Oh well….I guess we can’t dance…. Just then, a familiar tune by Rick Astley starts to play. Sheryl: Oh I love this song! As the music plays, Grenier has to talk over it to speak with Sheryl. Sheryl ignores Grenier and starts dancing. Grenier then starts dancing as well, and gets better as the song goes along. WE´RE NO STRANGERS TO LOVE YOU KNOW THE RULES AND SO DO I A FULL COMMITMENT’S WHAT I´M THINKING OF YOU WOULDN´T GET THIS FROM ANY OTHER GUY I JUST WANNA TELL YOU HOW I´M FEELING GOTTA MAKE YOU UNDERSTAND David: You know…I have a match at SCW’s biggest pay per view of the year, Rise to Greatness. It’s a rematch for the Majestic Title against Chloe Street. Sheryl: So…. NEVER GONNA GIVE YOU UP NEVER GONNA LET YOU DOWN NEVER GONNA RUN AROUND AND DESERT YOU NEVER GONNA MAKE YOU CRY NEVER GONNA SAY GOODBYE NEVER GONNA TELL A LIE AND HURT YOU Sheryl: Just take it like any other match. Clear your mind, relax, and focus on having a good match. WE´VE KNOWN EACH OTHER FOR SO LONG YOUR HEART´S BEEN ACHING, BUT YOU´RE TOO SHY TO SAY IT INSIDE WE BOTH KNOW WHAT´S BEEN GOING ON WE KNOW THE GAME AND WE´RE GONNA PLAY IT AND IF YOU ASK ME HOW I´M FEELING DON´T TELL ME YOU´RE TOO BLIND TO SEE David: Chloe is a tough competitor…I can see myself having a great match with her. NEVER GONNA GIVE YOU UP NEVER GONNA LET YOU DOWN NEVER GONNA RUN AROUND AND DESERT YOU NEVER GONNA MAKE YOU CRY NEVER GONNA SAY GOODBYE NEVER GONNA TELL A LIE AND HURT YOU NEVER GONNA GIVE YOU UP NEVER GONNA LET YOU DOWN NEVER GONNA RUN AROUND AND DESERT YOU NEVER GONNA MAKE YOU CRY NEVER GONNA SAY GOODBYE NEVER GONNA TELL A LIE AND HURT YOU Sheryl: Of course you can. (GIVE YOU UP GIVE YOU UP) NEVER GONNA GIVE, NEVER GONNA GIVE (GIVE YOU UP) NEVER GONNA GIVE, NEVER GONNA GIVE (GIVE YOU UP) David: I mean…our triple threat match was great. Sure, I was an idiot and tried to grab a cheap win by going into the match late-but I have changed. I am a new man. WE´VE KNOWN EACH OTHER FOR SO LONG YOUR HEART´S BEEN ACHING, BUT YOU´RE TOO SHY TO SAY IT INSIDE WE BOTH KNOW WHAT´S BEEN GOING ON WE KNOW THE GAME AND WE´RE GONNA PLAY IT I JUST WANNA TELL YOU HOW I´M FEELING GOTTA MAKE YOU UNDERSTAND Sheryl: I am glad to hear that. NEVER GONNA GIVE YOU UP NEVER GONNA LET YOU DOWN NEVER GONNA RUN AROUND AND DESERT YOU NEVER GONNA MAKE YOU CRY NEVER GONNA SAY GOODBYE NEVER GONNA TELL A LIE AND HURT YOU David: Oh yeah. There is nothing dirty about my gameplay anymore. I feel like I will have a lot more self-respect if I play by the rules. I also think the match will be better if it is clean. NEVER GONNA GIVE YOU UP NEVER GONNA LET YOU DOWN NEVER GONNA RUN AROUND AND DESERT YOU NEVER GONNA MAKE YOU CRY NEVER GONNA SAY GOODBYE NEVER GONNA TELL A LIE AND HURT YOU Sheryl: That’s what it’s all about. NEVER GONNA GIVE YOU UP NEVER GONNA LET YOU DOWN NEVER GONNA RUN AROUND AND DESERT YOU NEVER GONNA MAKE YOU CRY NEVER GONNA SAY GOODBYE NEVER GONNA TELL A LIE AND HURT YOU The song then ends and Grenier and Sheryl laugh. Sheryl: See, that wasn’t so bad. David: Sheryl, this has to be one of the best nights of my life. I have become a new man, and a better one at that. This Sunday, I will go into Rise to Greatness with a smile on my face, knowing that no matter what happens, I will still have respect for myself for being a good man. I wish Chloe Street the best of luck, and hope that she wants to have a great match just as much as I do. Sheryl: Well, she may or may not, but it is important that you do. David: Thanks again. Rather than being miserable going into the biggest event of my life, I will walk in with my head up high, and know that I will have one of the best matches in my career. It will be my farewell match to Majestic. It is my last chance to show Majestic that I have changed, and now respect everyone and everything having to do with the federation. A new song plays and the scene fades out on Grenier and Sheryl dancing. |
