I was reading the regular "lol omg niggers" and "men are better than stupid women who can't drive" as well as the "what is this faggotry" garbage and I started to think to myself. How did we become like this or are we all like this but those who publicly say it are given hell? Some of you know 2chan, 4chan, and other spin offs like this. The overall point of it is being anonymous so one can post whatever they feel without fear of backlash. Some of the posts are disgusting, disturbing, or downright illegal (jailbait pics a.k.a pics of nude girls under 18). But rather I want to talk about the racist aspect where anonymous users make racist or homophobic or even sexist comments as others agree with them. Where are these people in real life and why have I not met them? Or have I? Have they been brave enough to run their mouth on the net yet not say a word of it in public? But then my questions turned into: Why is society so hypocritical? No one is born with this kind of hatred. In my opinion, we are taught this. Not just from family members but rather society, media, and the government at large. Subtle messages from cartoons to commercials telling one group of people that they are better than the other. What is your first thought when you see a dark skin black male? Is it Nigger? What is your first thought when you see an effeminate male? Faggot? What is your first thought when you see a female with an attitude? A Bitch? Where has the opinion "a black man can only get a ugly white woman" come from? Where is the "white guys have small dicks" opinion come from? What is this "Asians are nothing but racers, hackers, and f'n electronics anime geeks"? I'm inquisitive about people's true belief. So if you have an opinion on it, let me know. |

First thought when I see a dark skin black male - I better hide my wallet. First thought when I see an effeminate male - I wish he'd stop staring at my stuff. First thought when I see a female with an attitude - I hope she gets raped. |

That's not being racist/sexist/homophobic, that is just stereotyping. There's a difference. |

Stereotyping is a form of racism.
The first one really depends for me, I guess since I am black. If he looks pissed off, "Someone give that nigga a hug." If he just looks normal and looks like he's in a calm mood. I don't really think of anything unless I walk past him and then I just say what's up. But if he's happy and smiling. "I want what that nigga is having." If I walk past him and he's still smiling "I hope that nigga ain't gay." 2. "Don't touch me, I won't hurt you." 3. "Damn she really probably needs to get fucked." (MANswers FTW!)

 While Jamal gets us that answer... What I was generally trying to say in my original post was: When people get on other people's back for saying something racist, sexist, chauvenist...that it's automatically hypocritical because deep down inside we are all like that? Stereotypes and racism is two different things but at the same time, stereotypes do help fuel racism, know what I mean?

Now I didn't say they were the same thing because their not. But stereotyping can be a form or type of racism. Placing people you don't even know into one category just because of appearance can still be prejudice. Stereotyping just isn't as blunt as "I hate them fags, crackers, or niggers." But some people when they stereotype automatically see somebody they see labeled in that group and they want nothing to do with them. It's not full out racism, but it can be. |

You changed your opinion from "Stereotyping is a form of racism" to "Stereotyping can be a form of racism". It can be, but the examples Shorty were using were not racist, but just stereotypes. And sorry Shorty, I didn't actually read your full post, just skimmed it. I agree with the point you are making. Whether we like to admit it or not, the majority of people in the world favor their own race and tend to believe negative stereotypes of other races. |

Well it is one if it can be used as a form of racism. If you see a black man walking down the street and you automatically think "nigger". I think that's kinda racist. But at least we can agree Shorty makes some pretty good points.

I for one am not racist. in fact, racism i just can not stand. Discrimination i cant stand either. I have got friends that are black, latino, oriental, and the like. I listen to black music and i just happen to like R&B the best, Hip-Hop coming in a very close second. so to answer those questions, I see black people as friends, effeminate males as friends, and a woman with an attitude needs to work with her attitude before she becomes a friend of mine. |

MINDFREAK! MINDFREAK!!!! Do a rasist magic show Criss Angel! o.o Deep down inside, rather we feel it, see it, or want to admit it.. We've all that racist, sexist, or homophobic moment. Ex. When I see a mexican person walking down the street in my "Hood", I lock my car.. Why? Because 8 times out of 10, they will steal your car and beat the shit out of you in here in Utah. |
