I got the other one that came out...I forget the name. It had you doing "missions" for Stephanie McMahon, like beating up security guards, trashing your opponents car, and throwing people off a construction site building? ...Weird.

THAT GAME WAS TERRIBLE OGGUM

LOL.

True, true...As a wrestling game, it fucking sucked...But, I didn't play it as a wrestling game. I played it like a 'Double Dragon' or a 'Final Fight.' I'd turn off the time limit and just beat the shit out of all the guards and construction workers and street thugs and everything, then pretend the 'mystery wrestler' was the 'stage boss'.

I used to love throwing them in front of the semi trucks in the parking lot level. :D

the major thing with the svr series is the storyline modes. It is hard for them to get much going with the voiceovers. They could be more careative with just using tesxt. God forbid people no how to read.

I mean that would really make possibilities endless. especially with downloadable content. which is coming to svr 09

and actually I am optimistic about the TNA game.really, I doubt anything is as bad as "WCW Mayhem" or the game that most likely inspired the revenge mode in wrestlemania 19 "Backstage Assault"

Pretty much fixed everything you wrote.

WCW Mayhem wasn't really that bad of a game. Why would you throw that name in, without throwing in the lowest rated wrestling game in history, and which a lot of people call the WORST wrestling game ever made...

...

...

WWF ATTITUDE!

I actually enjoyed WWF Attitude. It had a simple and straightforward career mode and it was just fun, because you couldn't take it seriously. WCW Mayhem wasn't terrible, it wasn't great either.

As for Backstage Assault, I bought it for $5 for N64....that's about what it's worth.

Either way, I'm sure TNA Impact will be interesting. I'm just not sold on whether it'll be comparable to SvR. SvR is a good game, it's just really repetitive and the GM mode, to me, sorry, is nothing to rave about. The story mode is really hit or miss. Some years is good. Some years it's crap. 08 was crap.

I do agree with using text. No Mercy and Wrestlemania 2000 both used text and both story modes were great. Just people feel the need to judge a game on all of the random perks it has. I'd rather have a good story mode than voiceovers that rarely make sense with most of the wrestlers anyways. I love watching The Undertaker celebrating like CM Punk would, or hitting on the divas. Clearly establishes his character :P

A lot of people didn't like WWF Attitude, because the controls on it. And, pretty much you can create a character and use wrestlers finishers for all your moves.

TNA iMPACT!, from the videos I've seen it seems like a pretty decent game. There entrances may seem a little stupid, with low music. But, everything else seems good. I just wonder how the controls are going to be like.

No Mercy, and Wrestlemania 2000 were pretty much the same.

You all are forgetting one great game. Do you remember, Smackdown 2? That game was great, and you could go through the Story Mode forever.

And the best part about Smackdown 2.....the random "Oh my God! It's Taka Michinoku" segments. I laughed so hard when they'd make a big deal about it....and he wouldn't be booked.

TNA Impact will get old very fast. Entrances are cut short, there is a limited roster, and I'm sure storylines will blow. Then again, they can't be as bad as the ones in real life.

The storyline is apparently you waking up in Mexico after having plastic surgery with amnesia. In order to discover your past, you have to battle your way through the TNA roster to the World Title.

The moral of the story: It CAN be worse than what we see on TV.

Smackdown 2 was awesome. I loved how you could have like 4 titles on the line in one match. I used to do that a lot.

Only problem was that even if you won the Royal Rumble in career mode, you might not be in the main event of Wrestlemania...and you probably wouldn't even be on the card for Mania.

I have to say though that the worst wrestling game ever was WWF Wrestlemania for the NES (at least of the ones I've played).

Actually, I'm seriously considering busting out the N64 and starting over with Wrestlemania 2000 again.
