Off Camera - Cincinnati, Ohio Shift in power within the Southern Alliance. The scene opens up and Jay is seen sitting on the bed of his hotel room thinking about what’s been happening the past couple of weeks. He got to watch Stacy’s promo on his laptop and wasn’t impressed with what she had to offer. Jay didn’t care whether she was a girl or not, that was just a useless form of sympathy just so your opponent would have a weakness. Jay wasn’t going to fall for it, he was there for strictly business and did his part. Right as he’s looking into his laptop to check his messages he hears his cell phone ringing. Who could be calling this late? It couldn’t be Jack since he knew that Jay was on the road getting ready for his commitments to SWA and FTWO. He let it ring a couple of times before looking at the number, it said Scott Stonewall’s number on the front. Wonder what the boss wanted, it must be something important. Jay: Hello? Yeah this is him speaking. He leans forward trying to think about what is said on the other line. His face then turns to shock as he pushes his laptop to the side. Jay: You gotta be kidding me, just when I thought them bitches couldn’t stoop any lower. A brief silence follows as he tries to again come to terms with what’s going on. He lets out a sigh and then looks places his chin on his hands supporting it. As he drops the cell phone trying to wake up from the announcement, the voice on the other line is heard loud and clear. ???: Jay, are you still there? Talk to me, bro, this is important. He reluctantly grabs the phone once again and then looks at the door in anger. Jay: Yeah I’m still here, but not for long. Them bitches will fucking pay for what they done to Scott. Mark my words, someone’s going to pay once I get back to the SCW at Breakdown. Right after he hears the words on the other end, he lets out a soft chuckle and shakes his head. Jay: Oh there will be hell to pay, mark my words. I don’t care whether there’s a girl or a boy staring at me across that ring, this one’s for Scott. Southern Alliance is going to continue their dominance whether Stacy likes it or not. Right after he tosses the phone towards his duffel bag, Eric starts walking into the picture. He looks like he just woke up, Jay doesn’t even notice him walking into the room. Eric: God damn it, Jay, what’s all this noise about? He lets out a sigh and then places his chin on his propped up left fist. Jay: It’s Scott, the government’s got him. I don’t know, what ever happened to freedom of speech? All we did was fight for our heritage, we had every right to be offended for being looked at as outcasts. I guess people can’t handle the truth, typical United States, corrupted sons of bitches. Just because Obama is gonna be in office don’t meant shit, still treated like shit. Eric laughs, which surprises Jay completely. What the hell could be so funny at this hour? Eric: Sorry, but when have government and fair been mentioned in same sentence, Jay? Get used to it, it’s happening everywhere. Even Arnold himself is screwing over California with his racism towards Latinos, why should we expect anything different? Jay: I guess you’re right, you’d think that years later these people would get the damn point and respect our opinion. It’s not like Scott held a gun to their head, right when I was starting to get closer to him. Not many people know the impact Scott has had on me being here, Scott is responsible for me being undefeated. He taught me so much in this short time, it’s going to be very hard to not have him around. Eric knew exactly how that felt, he still feels that way about Sickle. He may not have been on same page with him, but Sickle did teach Eric a lot, including how to properly grow in this business. He found him being the laughing stock of professional wrestling and then turned him into a legend during the Society of Destruction’s reign. Eric: I know, but life’s a bitch in general, man. There’s nothing we could do except adjust. What’s gonna happen now without him? Jay: His brother wants me to be the leader, I’ve never been the leader anywhere. You understand how big are them shoes I’m replacing? Not just literally, but look at the man…Scott’s a legend in this business, no one can discredit his decade of wrestling experience, the true leader of the Southern Alliance both in heart and in skills. Eric abruptly interrupts Jay, causing Jay to respond with anger. Eric places his arm on his shoulder to calm him down and then stares a hole through him. Eric: Calm your ass down, I know what it’s like to lose someone that big but believe me when I say this, you ARE ready to step up. It’s no fluke you’ve reached the main event for an entire year. I know Scott has made a great decision by choosing you as the new leader. Please try and think of what Scott would say in this situation…he wouldn’t want you pissed at the government. He would want you to walk into Breakdown focused on Stacy. Jay: I know, but it still don’t erase the fact that the locker won’t feel the same. He’s the glue in our group, none of us knew each other prior to SCW. It was him that was our friend in common, throughout the rough patches starting out, he would stand strong and lead us this far. Eric: Yeah, but that don’t mean you’re worthless. You’re undefeated for a reason, Jay, wake up and realize what’s in front of you. If you gave this a shot instead of being an emo, I’d be willing to bet that you’d surprise Scott himself. Relax and give this a shot, what do you have to lose? Jay: I guess you’re right…okay, I’ll give this a shot. I just can’t help but be mad at them for what happened…whatever, this is going to take a lot of getting used to. Eric nods and starts heading towards the door. Eric: Yeah..just try and get some rest. Jay: Alright…night. Eric: Later. Jay shuts off the laptop and goes to get some rest as the scene fades to black. |
