![]() PERSON: Fully Loaded - Fame PROMO TITLE: Reconstruction MATCH: SCW Women's Title - Fame © v. Ashley Cherry PROMO CONTENT: (Promo 1 of 3: Body, Heart & Soul January 25 2009)I'm the SCW Women's Champion...I can't believe it...I'm FINALLY the SCW Women's Champion... We fade in to the NEW SCW Women's Champion, Elizabeth "Fame" Fortune, holding the SCW Women's Title in her hands with an expression of disbelief. Fame: I'm FINALLY the SCW Women's Champion, after a full year of competition...and I can't even celebrate for ONE SECOND because Ashley Cherry came right up to me backstage and gave me an earful about contendership. Worst part about THAT is, she's still right. *siiiigh* God help me, she's still right... Another deep sigh. Fame: The important part is the fact that this will be our third match against each other, and we both each hold a win over each other--both our wins were for contendership too! Isn't it fitting then, that our Rubber Match--that's "tie-breaker" for those who don't know--would be for MY newly-won SCW Women's Championship? Let your brain process that for the one second that I DIDN'T get to have to celebrate my hard-earned title win. MY newly-won SCW Women's Championship. NOT yours...NOT Ashley Cherry's. She smirks, though the exhaustion from the entire ordeal with Rachel Foxx and the Stewards is a lot more evident in her general demeanor. Fame: You may have pre-empted my party, but one thing I CAN tell you...is that I made a KILLING off my title win, and I WILL have my celebration, dammit. Even with the odds getting changed a little to reflect Rachel's little "habit", I was still considered a long-shot to win that belt...a lot like my husband last year at almost around this time. How could you NOT put money on the long-shot that week? A light chuckle, then another sigh. Fame: And it's a funny thing...you've been here in SCW with Greg and his buddies for...well, just about since the SCW opened all the way back in 2003, and imagine my surprise when I looked through the histories and found that NONE of the 18 names before mine in the Women's Division was "Ashley Cherry", "Ashley Roberts", or "Ashley Roberts-Cherry"! Really...I was SHOCKED. She nods her head, her expression TOTALLY SERIOUS to show that she REALLY IS SHOCKED. Really. Fame: ...Oh, and did I mention I was SHOCKED? Don't worry, Ashley; don't take that to mean that I don't take you SERIOUSLY...because as soon as I stopped doing THAT for even the smallest fraction of a second, you beat me to become the Number-One Contender to Rachel Foxx. And then YOU lost against her, just like I did. Amazingly enough, you were the FIRST to have the good timing to get in my face right after I won this belt, and for THAT...I'll certainly give you kudos. You deserve it, Ashley, you really do. She nods her head with an appreciative expression, though there IS a slight trace of contempt for Ashley's actions visible. Fame: THIS time though, when we face each other, it won't be for OPPORTUNITIES...because it will be the ULTIMATE opportunity. When we face each other, standing across from each other in that ring at Body, Heart & Soul as the referee holds up MY brand-new belt, I won't be looking at you with any malice, any extra aggression, any hatred...not this time; there's no REASON for me to! I will looking at you with CONFIDENCE, Ashley...the kind of confidence that comes from knowing that whoever walks out of this match with the belt will be poised and PRIMED to change the SCW Women's Division into something, well...something RESPECTABLE. Something to be PROUD of. Something...AWESOME...just like your theme music used to say, right? She tilts her head with a slight smirking expression. Fame: Think about this for a minute, Ashley. Katie Steward won the belt 5 times, then left the Women's Division to become United States Champion; Stacy Kissinger completely SKIPPED the Women's Division after 2 or 3 matches here to FEUD with Katie for the US belt. Don't you see what's going on there? The SCW Women's Division needs an OVERHAUL; it needs to be FIXED, and you're looking at the head mechanic. Katie Steward wasn't interested in elevating HER belt to the level of Jason Wheeler's SCW Championship, only HERSELF by dint of holding this belt 5 times. Lenne Perez had the ambition and the vision, but she didn't have the DRIVE to see it through and RETIRED almost immediately after winning the belt she fought for 2 years to get...instead of leading this division to the prosperity she only HINTED at. Go figure--she wins the belt, and thinks there's nothing left, and leaves...clearly SHE wasn't interested in elevating the belt either, only herself. She shakes her head in disappointment as she raises the Women's Title, looking at it grimly. Fame: THIS belt...all THIS belt has represented for the past 2 and a half years...has been utter SELFISHNESS. All this belt has signified since November 2007 has been GREED, HUBRIS, and complete CHAOS. If there's ONE thing I can GUARANTEE you as the SCW Women's Champion, is that IT ALL...STOPS...RIGHT NOW. I AM the Champion and like the late great Ben Parker told his nephew Spider-Man, "with great power comes great responsibility." I will do my damnedest to make sure the SCW Women's Championship becomes a title that will no longer represent the worst intentions of the Women's Division, but rather...the PROMISE that the Women's Division holds as WRESTLERS. As the Champion, I intend to build the Division into one where we're not simply EYE CANDY, dammit! We're WRESTLERS! Her head turns from side to side, her torso hunched over like she's about to stand up and storm out of there, but she simply seethes. Fame: THIS...(looking at the belt)...is no longer a belt that represents WRESTLERS. Not anymore. This division needs a CHANGE, and not just the change of CHAMPIONS that took place only last week... She drops the belt on the floor, standing up and reaching behind her to unfasten a championship belt from her waist, previously unseen because of the angle of the shot, the lighting, and the particular angle of her seated position. She holds it up to the camera so we can get a good look at it as she begins smirking again. ![]() Fame: THIS...this belt I hold in my hand...THIS belt will represent a NEW BEGINNING for the Women's Division; THIS belt will represent CHANGE; THIS belt will represent PRIDE; THIS belt...will represent WRESTLING. And so long as Elizabeth Fortune is YOUR SCW Women's Champion, THIS belt will represent PROMISE for the Women's Division. And the reconstruction starts this Sunday at Body, Heart & Soul against Ashley Cherry. Because I can GUARANTEE you all, with all MY body, heart, and soul, that I have BIG plans for this title, and for the SCW Women's Division as a whole...and rebuilding the shattered remains of something that used to be more high-impact than the Underground Division, and more fast-paced than the Adrenaline Division...? She picks the old SCW Women's Title up from the floor with her free hand, looking between them--the old belt with some disdain, the new belt with approval--then slinging both belts over her shoulders, the new belt over her left shoulder and the old one over her right. She looks back at the camera with fierce determination in her eyes. Fame: THAT...well...I'm sure you already know by now, but if you're new to the game, I'll just let you know for future reference--that building up the SCW Women's Division...is going to be FAMOUS of me, the SCW Women's Champion. We fade from there to the office of Mr. Drachewych, only a few days earlier. He's sitting at his desk, looking over important documents. A knock at the door... Mr. Drachewych: (not looking up) Enter. Into the office walk Liz and UWF-UNSANCTIONED Owner/IWC wrestler Axl Evermore. Drachewych glances up and his eyes narrow questioningly, first eyeing Evermore, then the duffel he has slung over his shoulder. Mr. Drachewych: Mrs. Fortune. How can I help my newest Women's Champion and her, er, friend today? He eyes the grinning Evermore suspiciously, scrunching his face in discomfort before returning to his papers. Liz nods to Axl, and he unzips the duffel, enabling her to reach in and pull out the SCW Women's Championship belt. She holds it up and Drachewych's gaze shifts between her and the belt. Mr. Drachewych: Yes? Is there something I can help you with, Liz? Liz: (grimly) This is not the belt I will be defending at Body, Heart & Soul. Mr. Drachewych: (raising eyebrow) But...you're the Women's Champion; you HAVE to defend the belt. Liz: Not this belt. I'll defend the SCW Women's Championship, but I will not defend this belt. Mr. Drachewych: Is there any...PARTICULAR reason? Liz: Well, as I'm sure you already know, I have some PLANS to rebuild the Women's Division as the Champion...but I can't possibly do it with this belt. She lays the belt across his desk for effect. Liz: I WILL be walking into the pay-per-view with belt that says "SCW Women's Championship" on it, but it WON'T be this one. Drachewych eyes the belt, then Liz, then narrows his eyes in sternness. Mr. Drachewych: That could be a problem, since the pay-per-view is on Sunday. What makes you think that we could possibly have a new belt ready by that time? Evermore, grinning, steps up to the desk and lays the duffel bag down on top of the SCW Women's belt. He leans on the desk and smirks confidently at Drachewych. Axl Evermore: And I believe this is where I come in...! Mr. Drachewych: ...What do you mean? Axl Evermore: As it so happens...my company's had a set of NEW belts ready for...well, let's just say they've been ready for A WHILE. He shrugs as Drachewych looks into the bag. Mr. Drachewych: It certainly looks...different. I'll give you THAT. Evermore grins, nodding to Liz as we FADE TO BLACK. |
