Something tells me I will not be writing that many...

Burning out comes easy when you stress yourself over something like this - (I am already close to having it happen on my role-play for the match this Wednesday) - And trying to keep up with multiple posts from thirty-odd people is going to be a one-way ticket into insanity...

Better to put all your emotion, effort and soul into one decent role-play, and either post it as one giant story, or break it down into chapters and sections, and post it over a two-day period - (I plan on doing the former, more than likely).

Actually, the winner of ThoF every year is the one most likely to drown out there opponents from the get go.

Best thing to do is get your rps up early, and keep up on everyones "promo" and keep an eye on any trends in CD. Avoid the trend, be original, and don't screw up making your promo just like everyone elses. Concentrate on the bigger names and forget the losers (if you were main event status like myself, you'd know I wouldn't even look your way) and then you'll win the match that way. Best strategy that's been proven to work.

However.. the winner of ThoF has never.. ever.. won at RTG. So I don't try for it anymore. To much work to burnout on.

I don't have a problem debuting in a battle royale. It gives me more material to use.

And I don't know so much if I'd want to win it, given that it'd be hard to do for booking reasons.

Despite popular belief, Mark, quantity almost never wins.

I am more than certain at least every one of us can remember a time in our "careers" where one role-play from us has beaten multiples from other people - because it was better written, held more impact, and stuck in the heads of the judging committee easier, or greater, than those who wrote more than one.

Partly, because if you write more than one, it becomes more for the judge to remember and take into consideration - as opposed to one single solid story that does not need to be referenced to an earlier post - it makes it easier, and grants you more staying power.

Or so I believe, at the least.

Two things. I want to get thirty people in this thing, so if Adam is alright, anyone can enter and we'll fill this battle royal up. I've also extended it to people outside of SCW and Majestic as well.

As for the roleplaying and judging....just think of it this way. If everyone roleplays to the limit (ie. 3 RPs each), then I'll be reading 90 roleplays. So keep that in your head when you're roleplaying for it.

Mayhem said he can kick Millers ass, but Miller said that Mayhem dosent have much strength to do that, Faust said hes better then both of them, Prima Donna said it dosent matter if ur a guy or not she still has what it takes, Lenne Perez is disgusted by everyone in this match, Jay Gold says he will win it and Martha agrees, Majestic guys say they will take it over, SCW guys say their a second development fed for a reason...I bet you guys get the point.

Close... But since I never actually appear on camera in my role-plays, none of you will actually know, see or hear what Miller has to say about the match - (something my opponents seem to forget when they reply to my posted role-plays).

Miller would never say Mayhem is not strong enough, he would probably think the kid does not have enough experience for a couple of paragraphs, and then the role-play would go right back to the story line.

If you don't speak and everything is in thoughts, then expect to have those thoughts used by your opponents. I don't often agree with people using CD, but when you are purposely giving them nothing to use, then i guess they have every right to use what they supposedly can't see.

Incorrect, and a rather arrogant assumption as well.

Miller / MacGregor is not a "promo" type of person, and he never has been. He is never seen on camera, because as has been brought out before in earlier role-plays, he detests, and is in fact disgusted with the aspect of "sports entertainment" and the "hollywood" side of wrestling. The only time he appears on camera is during an interview, a sports show, or the actual program, itself.

Seeing as how things are meant to be kept realistic, that is another reason why attempting to use someone's own thoughts or words spoken in an untaped, private moment would be not only inappropriate, but blatantly ignorant and stupid.

That would be like me trying to use Wheeler's diesease against him, when I cannot know anything about it. It wasn't taped, and its not common knowledge; nor is your personal story regarding all the "Sin City / Murder / Thriller" stuff that you use... Its both common sense, and respect. If someone does not put something in place to be viewed, heard, or noted by anyone else, then you do not use it.

The fact that I do not have anything recorded or taped, or made available to my opponent, means nothing more than he or she will have to write for themselves, and not look to my own post for their material. If they cannot do that with any success, then maybe they should not be playing the game.

EDIT:-

In addition, there are rare times where Kayla will operate a small hand-held camcorder in order to record a small five to ten minute tirade from David, but only if I deem the opponent, or situation to have enough impact, or meaning to my story-line; otherwise, as I said, they are on their own, as am I; since I do not enjoy using material from my opponent's role-plays, either, without a direct connection, such as Sickle's attack on a diabetic boy, which ties into David's own condition, and etc.

In any case, if this debate wishes to continue, please start a new thread. I'd prefer to keep this for sign ups for the battle royal. Please and thanks. :)

With Calvan in and Exeter in, with MacGregor and Kenny Turner out, we've still got one spot left.
