Why the fuck does every single time I log into MSN messenger, I get an add, and it's another fucking triflin' hoe tryin' to get me into a web cam chat?! To be honest I only got MSN messenger because of this place. Yahoo was my ish but I saw most people have MSN here so thats why I got it and when I think I'm getting add's from ya'll I'm getting adds from "Hot_barbie_spice_pumpkin@hotmail.com" IT'S RIDICULOUS! I just got the glare of lifetime from my woman. I got this shit and then my wifey comes up from behind me to hug me, see that and lets go without saying a word. I look back at her and she gave me the female death stare and just walked away to the room....I'm literally petrified! I fear for my safety mane

You've run anti-spyware stuff, right? I never get these problems, so I can't tell you what causes them or how to solve them, but on my MSN I have to approve people before they can talk to me. I assume you don't? You might want to set that up to stop this problem. All that happens when somebody messages me when they're not on my list is it says "This person (email@email.com) wants to talk to you. Authorise?" and I say yes or no. Keeps life simple. Just in case though I'd still run an anti-virus and anti-spyware sweep on your PC. AVG for anti-virus and ad-aware for anti-spyware. Both free, both quick and both easy. |

Don't worry, I get the same Adds that you are. Each time I am suckered in to going to look to see who wants to be my friend. 9 times out of 10, its a female who wants to talk on cam or wants to model her new undies.... Oh yes... I KNOW that stare and can do it very well myself

Malwarebytes (name of the program) is also a good scanner that's free. It'll remove the stuff in minutes. Although, it's not an active protector unless you pay for it but it's always fun anyways. I don't think it's spyware related though seeing as I used to get them to. After talking to some of those girls I found out that I can be a really good asshole to force THEM to block me. I like to have fun with "bots" which are just real people pretending to be hot chicks to get you to a pay per click website. |

No way. I hate all spyware & anti-spyware programs. I always end up getting viruses anyway. I got avast now and I've gotten viruses with that before. I'm just blocking and deleting them all. Speeds way sounds pretty dope tho I want to give that a try

You shouldn't get VIRUSES if you've got anti-virus. You'll still get tracking cookies and maybe the odd trojan horse, but you shouldn't get VIRUSES! And trust me dude, you NEED anti-virus, even if it's only AVG Free. I'm a computing graduate and I've seen people lose SO much stuff over the years because they didn't want anti-virus and thought it wouldn't happen to them. My sister didn't have anti-virus because "it made things slower" and she got hit with a virus that meant she had to reinstall Windows, and since she didn't have her recovery disks it SHOULD have cost her £40 or whatever it was for Toshiba to give her new ones. Luckily her boyfriend works there and he got recovery disks from the same model for her, but that's not the point. If she'd just had an anti-virus in the first place she would have been ok and not lost her laptop for the best part of a week. You'd think she'd learn, but you'd be wrong. Last week she had her bank account hacked. NOW she's learned her lesson and has a full security suite. Trust me, it's better to bolt the door just on the off chance rather than wait for something to happen and then try and fix it after the fact. People make a LOT of money off of people who wouldn't have problems if they'd just protect themselves in the first place. It costs a lot to fix the problem once it's happened, and nothing to protect yourself before it starts... |

Like I said I have the free avast because my dude recommended that for me and he's all into that computer shit. Anybody got any better ideas? It just seems like no matter what I do I still get the same spyware shit. That's the usual virus's I get. Like windows defender would not get the hell off my screen so I had to crash my computer last time. |

As someone who works on viruses or at least used to before getting into management. Having a full security suite won't actually stop everything. There's reasons for that though. Personally I don't have anything on my PC. No firewall, no passwords to log in, even have the guest account open for easy access. Unencrypted wifi as well. Out of the whopping 3 people who have tried anything on my system, none of them lasted more then 5 minutes. ![]() Anyways... back to my main point. Having something like Mcafee, AVG, Norton, Avast, Panda, Super Anti Spyware, etc etc etc. Will all do pretty much the same thing. It will get rid of some viruses and might not stop others. Reason being is a virus is man made. So all you have to do is take what security is out there, and design something to bypass all of that security. So now there's no fix until they can come out with one (thus the updates every week). The good part (at least for me) is that's how you breed business. You play both companies against each other and pocket the middle man money of removing it. It's fun. Either way if you ever get the virus again, the best thing you can do is actually learn how to get rid of it yourself. Having a second computer is always useful for that. A quick search for something like "Major geeks, how to get rid of windows antivirus" would have yielded some good results. Things like that. Using programs like malwarebytes, GMER, Autoruns, and hijack this along with some knowledge of command prompt will always lead you to being able to remove a virus from a PC. In short for tldnr's... "I don't use protection, because I can beat a virus. You should learn how to remove viruses yourself when you get them, or at least give it a good effort before giving up and paying someone else to. Or pay someone to teach you how to remove it." |

i actually have hijack this. I ran it as soon as I got it, ran a scan, checked & deleted everything that came up, and deleted all the back up's and it still didn't go away. Then I tried opening it again because once you do that it closes the program and when I went to reopen it to try again the fucker wouldn't let me open! The virus wouldn't. It kept saying it was contaminated so it wouldn't let me open it. I dunno man. I gotta learn me! |

You don't need to pay money for the free anti-virus and anti-spyware software. Besides, having anti-virus isn't about stopping the newest, most cutting edge viruses because chances are more than good you'll never encounter them. Unless you're Microsoft then chances are good you may well never get hacked either. If you know what you're doing on the internet you'll never get caught with anything, ever. But people DON'T know what they're doing. People open emails they shouldn't open. People click banners they shouldn't click. People download files they shouldn't download. And people get infections on their computer they shouldn't get. I don't know for sure but I'm going to bet that 90% of virus infections aren't from NEW viruses but old ones that have existed since the dawn of time. Microsoft got hit with the same virus twice when they didn't update their own systems against it. You almost never encounter the cutting edge stuff but if you're an idiot (and 99% of people are) then you encounter the old, stupid stuff all the time, and anti-virus and anti-spyware stop that. Also, dude, you have unencrypted wifi?! Why?!?! Encrypting it isn't even difficult, doesn't have any problems (slow down etc) and is it not better to be safe than sorry? WPA-PSK encryption requires you to enter a password one time when you set it up and you're protected... |

^ Here's why I do not encrypt my wireless. Not because I don't know how (in fact exact opposite once you see this.) http://www.ex-parrot.com/pete/upside-down-ternet.html Stumbled across that link a few years back and loved the idea so much that I just set it up and laugh when I look at the connection logs on that side of my internet. |
