Sunday, July 25, 2010 Los Angeles, California *On-Air* Sitting on a black leather couch, staring a video camera sitting on a tripod across the room, Rex Butler appears for the first time to the SCW audience. Shaven bald, and in his late-20s, his green eyes stare intently into the lens as the silence builds around. Dressed in a black t-shirt and blue jeans, Rex leans forward, placing his elbows on his knees as a sadistic smirk crosses his lips. Rex Butler: “You know… I was sitting around here the other day and I figured that it was about time I showed my face to all the little morons that make up the roster of Supreme Championship Wrestling. I figure I’d go ahead and put a face to the name that just signed his name on the dotted line. Over the past few days I’ve glanced over the roster and I’m still not really sure how I should feel about the people I see on it. Should I be afraid? Or, should I just not give a damn about any of you? Chances are, no matter what the response to that question is, I already know what which way I’m leaning. Don’t try to persuade me because I can guarantee you it won’t get you anywhere.” Rex leans back, as a young woman - in her late-20s, with shoulder-length blonde hair and green eyes - walks into the shot, and stands behind Rex. She placed his hands on Rex’s shoulders as he continues to stare into the camera. Rex Butler: "I've heard a lot of things about this company. Whether those things are good or bad - in my mind - remains to be seen. There's only one person on this roster who knows what I'm capable of inside - and outside - a wrestling ring. This person knows exactly who they are. And, they should realize that if they lied to get me here, then they'll have nothing but a huge target on their back. And, I will NOT leave until I personally make things right." "But, as for the rest of the roster, I understand that you all hear the same line of bullshit from the men and women that come through your doors on a daily basis. They all say the same things: they're going to run this company in no time; they're going to be the top guy in the company and no one will ever bring them down; they're the greatest wrestler to ever join the SCW. That's not me. Being the top guy in this company means absolutely nothing to me. I've been on the top of the mountain. I've had plenty of people try to bring me down. That's nothing new to me and I know that will never change. And, as far as championships go: I've held titles before. Championships will come and go as long as their earned. But, even championships aren't the most important thing to me. And, they never will be." Rex pulls away from Alisha's hands, and leans toward the camera once again, his eyes narrowing as his face grows blank, emotionless. Rex Butler: "The only thing I care about, and the only real reason why I signed my contract to join the SCW, is hurting people. Plain and simple. It doesn't matter who you are, how long you've been here, or what your status is to the rest of the roster. I don't give a damn about how high you hold yourself, or how you want to be viewed by your fans, because when it comes down to it, none of that shit matters. The only thing that matters, is whether or not you have what it takes to walk away from me under your own power. A new era is about to begin in the SCW. And, like it or not, there's nothing any of you can do about it." A sadistic smile once again crosses Rex's lips as the picture fades to black. |
