SCW AH: Jason, we are glad to have you hear for SCW After Hours. A multi-SCW Champion and a true veteran of SCW, being in SCW since year one! How goes it? Wheeler: Good evening, SCW Universe SCW AH: Everyone has been wondering, when is that next ascension back to the top going to happen? Of course your worst critics, Cherry and many other former SCW Champions, have been quiet thus far. Do you think any chance of you returning will turn up the hostility in the locker room once again? Wheeler: Heh, you speak of ascension as if I am not at the top right now. Look back in the history of SCW and it doesn't matter the era... there were two things that drew the world’s attention. The SCW title and Jason Wheeler, no matter what the face. Has there ever been a superstar as big as the SCW title without actually having to hold it? I think not. The locker room has kept quiet because they know this now... and they have accepted it. SCW AH: There is a rumor floating around that a month ago there was a commotion in the locker room as you declared that you were not respected and treated as an equal to your peers. Is there any true to this? If so, do you feel as though things have changed now? Wheeler: Well put whatever stock you want into rumors. I will say that following the events and comments of a few choice superstars, I made a declaration in the locker room challenging anyone who had doubted my abilities to face me in the ring and to prove their case. No one answered the challenge and the locker room suddenly became a lot more quiet as you were so quick to point out earlier. SCW AH: Mr. Wheeler, when do you think that "time" will come? The time where you look into the mirror of at one of the most decorated SCW wrestlers of all time and decide it's time to hang up the boots? Many have faulted CHBK for not doing so earlier, do you believe your time will soon come as CHBK's and will you follow in his footsteps of treading on or will you retire for good? Wheeler: You know what the problem is for a place like SCW? SCW AH: No, sir, I don't. Wheeler: It’s addicting. Take CHBK for example. He can never stay away. Even now the ring is calling him back. Hell, I practically dared him to come back. I haven't really thought about leaving SCW... I don't think SCW would be SCW without the two of us in it. SCW AH: Have you ever thought of possibly going after all the times, minus the Women’s, or any other difficult task to add on to your illustrious career? Wheeler: Well the only title I have never held is the SCW Adrenaline title. And what good would that do in my hands? I am not like the Greg Cherrys, the Xander Valentines, and the Chad Evans... holding back the young talent is something they strive to do. But I will say that I would enjoy winning the Taking Hold of the Flame Battle Royale before my time comes to give that final bow. SCW AH: We'll be looking forward to it, 2011 Taking Hold of the Flame winner - Jason Wheeler! As you look out amongst most of the young competitors coming up, who reminds you the most of a "young Jason Wheeler"? Wheeler: That's actually a touchy subject. See, only once did I ever call someone a rightful successor to the mantle of being the hero of time...I was let down as we all were by his sudden departure and I learned a hard lesson that my duty is not one I can simply pass on to the next soul. SCW AH: Could you tell us who this person was or would you like to keep it to yourself at this time? Wheeler: I’m sure it was no surprise to anyone when I handed him the SCW United States Title. SCW AH: There were a lot of high hopes for Nathan Kaye, a lot of hearts broke when he left. Do you ever worry you would let your fans down, especially your younger ones, if you were to ever walk away from SCW for good? Wheeler: You know what the weird thing is... is that over the six years i have watched the young fans turn to adults themselves. When I do decide to leave SCW, the legacy I created won't ever be forgotten. I have no doubts on that. SCW AH: If you could face that final Rise to Greatness opponent for your last time in the ring? Who would it be? Or would it be multiple people? Wheeler: Some people would assume Xander or CHBK, but if truth be told... There was one man in my life who defined what I became. Trevor Gelinas... the Canadian Badd A$$. SCW AH: *laughs* Trevor, huh? We have to wrap up soon but thank you for sitting down and talking to SCW After Hours. If any final words, whether it be to friend or foe, what would it be? Wheeler: Yeah... sit tight... the best is yet to come. |
