I'll say this....I like the idea in theory. It at least gives an otherwise meaningless show a reason to watch it, besides the sick concept of watching people you know won't go anywhere.

HOWEVER....

TNA Xplosion for the most part is an overseas show and airs in the United States and Canada (to give two examples) on local affiliates or television networks that few get (The Fight Network) and often in time slots to fill programming necessities. If TNA Xplosion was actually available nationwide, I think it at least does something, providing you don't make it a belt, but instead a trophy or title, much like how Money in the Bank is. That said, much like most things in TNA, there may be a good idea in there, but it's just getting executed horribly.

Also, yay, apparently Desmond Wolfe is the commissioner of Xplosion. I'd love to see the storyline rationale there.

So I guess this is TNA's, I mean Impact Wrestling's way of bringing in a money in the bank type shot to whoever wins the "Xplosion Championship", right?

I suppose that isn't a bad idea. It gives a new champion the chance to go for a belt in a money in the bank kinda way. So you could have someone unexpected go for a world title match, or it could be cashed in unexpectedly like the money in the bank is. However, the problem I see with this route is how many times this championship would change hands and be defended, because by Russo's standards title changes happen regularly. So it could become the case that there are going to be a hell of a lot of title matches made because of this belt, though I do think it will quickly become rather redundant when it comes to their so-called top tier titles...

I all honesty such a move doesn't make me want to watch TNA, sorry, Impact Wrestling. I haven't watched the product since the first few weeks when Hogan and Bischoff came in. After that I had seen enough and I haven't bothered tuning in since, and I can't see this changing my mind because I don't see it solving any of their current problems. Like, for instance, the fact that they have too many belts in their brand right now. I think prior to this they had seven belts, now its eight belts and that is way too many for one single two hour show. You can't properly build matches and feuds in such a short space of time, or at least not in my opinion you can. Perhaps in Russo's mind he can make it happen, but I think that with too many belts, it makes the show cluttered and the belts almost worthless.

For me, although this idea has its good points, it has more bad points. I guess it can be TNA's version of money in the bank, and that it will only be gained a couple of times a year at most. But I somehow doubt that when the likes of Russo are in control. I think what they should be doing instead of putting another belt into an already crowded show, is make the current belts worth more, and make people more interested in watching their product. They should want people to care about the belts more, and the feuds that come from it. But right now, people will see yet another belt added to the list, and they might think, or at least I do, "well here's another pointless introduction when they can't handle what they've already got."

In essence, I believe this is a pointless addition that will not bring anything good to the table. Though I could be wrong, and this might be the best thing to happen to TNA since Hogan and Bischoff... oh wait.

Personally, TNA needs to go back to their old strategy... ONLY HAVE WORLD TITLE MATCHES AT PPVS and save the main event and sub mainevents each week to focus on the TV title, womens tag, and x-divsion belts. Those should be headlining your weekly shows so they get the hype they need. The TNA WORLD belt gets the publicity and the attention it deserves becuz thats a given. The world is already built from the get go so y not build up your other divisions? TNA is struggling in ppvs but thats because the under-card matches r what make the ppv en joyable. Build up a kick ass feud over the other belts each week with matches and let the world tile be built off storyline purposes and defended at the ppvs. PLEASE FIRE RUSSO.

And the thing about title changes.... yeah Russo can't think of ne good feuds or storylines to run with so he is consitently changing champions and that loses the prestige of the belt. Sometimes it's not the title changes tho. Sometimes TNA sucks becuz of who they allow to be their champions. Gunner as tv champ with 1 bullshit title defense against daniels? Yeah LAME!

Impact needs a lot of work and they shuld start by not giving Russo so much control over booking. Get a group, and make division heads. Find 5 of yer most creative employees and come up with some good freaking storylines. WWE sucks now that edge has retired, McIntyre is misued, and CM Punk is only good enuff to beat everyone and then lose to the top dawg. If TNA fixed a few things they could honestly compete with WWE some day.

Uhhhhhhhhh................

So it's a belt right? Like someone on the roster walks around in segments and matches and all that stuff on a Impact show with this Xplosion title.

And it give the ability to have a title match wheneverm just like Money in the Bank. My question is, how do the story mechanics work for it then?

It is a win it once and get to do it whenever the hell you want while you hold it (which I I could see happening) or You only get one whenever the fuck you want title match when you win the title. (Thus in Russo logic. we could see title matches against oneself to regain the mtitle match clause again as "new" champion. Again in Russoland, likely) Or you must make the title vancant as soon as you cash in. Which the last item I mentioned would make it basicly Money In the Bank: The Title Belt.

Just confused about it is all. I am pretty sure it's just a storytelling tool they'll be using and won't mean much. But eh I like the speculation I came up with.
