http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QyC74s5oTD8 No, this is not a good match. No, I'm not suggesting people watch it for that. I'm suggesting people realize that bad mistakes are made all the time. Rumour has it that it was supposed to be Lance Storm vs. Booker T, instead of Buff vs. Booker T. This is corroborated by Chris Jericho in Undisputed and in Lance Storm's shoot interview. Apparently, the Storm/Booker matches were well-received. Bagwell/Booker...not so much....yet Buff was perceived as a bigger star. It has been held that this match was largely the reason WCW didn't turn into a separate entity as they planned. It also didn't help they had the match happen in a market WCW never was successful in. Imagine how we would have looked back at 2001 had this match been different or booked at a different venue. |
