According to F4WOnline.com, The Rock has played a major role in CM Punk holding onto the WWE Title for as long as he has.

It's being said that there have been many times throughout the past year when Vince McMahon has strongly considered having Punk drop the title, however this past summer, The Rock agreed to wrestle CM Punk for the WWE Championship, and later announced that he would challenge for the title at Royal Rumble.

Since then, The Rock and Punk have exchanged quite a bit of trash talk on Twitter, and the feeling is The Rock would not be happy if Punk were to drop the title at some point leaving Rock to face someone else at the Royal Rumble.

Thoughts?

CAN YA SSSSMMMMMMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL-LALALALAAAA

WHAT THE ROCK

IS

COOKING?

Honestly with all the in-ring smack tak CM Punk has done about Stone Cold, I figured that one day pretty soon we'd hear the glass shatter and ol' Steve Austin would open a can of whoop ass

Rock doesn't need the title, so I am hoping they're using this to elevate punk even more as a dominate champion than he's already doing. I'm wanting to see him last as champion till Mania and drop it then.

There has been talk of Punk facing Taker at Mania, putting the WWE title on the line, but who knows anymore. There have also been rumors of Punk dropping the title to Rock, winning a #1 Contenders Chamber match, then facing Rock in a rematch at Mania.

Yeah I think Punk should hold it through Mania. Honestly, it is hard to see Punk without the WWE title. To me, it just suits him.

Being the champ suits him, but that ridiculous fucking belt doesn't suit anything without a learning disability and a bicycle helmet.

Yeah once Cena dropped the title and stepped away from the title picture, that damn thing should have been changed.

WWE.com is reporting CM Punk is undergoing knee surgery today in Pensacola, Florida.

There is no other information at this time about the injury, recovery time or plans moving forward for the WWE title.

WWE.com has updated the medical status of WWE Champion CM Punk:

“CM Punk underwent knee surgery today to remove a piece of torn meniscus that had locked up his knee. The surgery, performed by Dr. James Andrews, went smoothly and CM Punk is expected to make a full recovery.”

ProWrestling.net is reporting that the feeling among several WWE employees is that Punk has been working through injury, and is expected to continue working through pain for the upcoming TLC pay-per-view.

It is worth noting that WWE.com previously explained Punk's injury as the result of Ryback's assault on him last night during the main event segment of Monday Night Raw. So it's very possible that WWE is just posting a generic response to Punk's surgery, and its actual result is still completely unknown.

There has been a new title strap in the works for some time now. It's being made by the guy from "American Chopper". However, from the pics I have seen, it is not much better then the current design, though I will agree with St. Claire and say that anything is better then the current Non-Spinner Spinner belt. lol :P
