I figured since I'm sharing this around I might as well do it here too. I can't help it... I'm really proud of this and would appreciate any and all feedback you can give me for this. For my Digital Photo class here in my final semester of college, my final project was to take photos and arrange them into a stop motion music video, with the freedom to choose any song (as long as it was over 2:40 in length) and use Photoshop as I saw fit to make this happen. I turned it in last night but am not actually presenting until my final exam period next week, but I can't wait to show this off. In a sense, and after seeing what most of my classmates did, I went FAR above and beyond in creating this, and most of them thought I was insane for putting all this extra work into it. But I was of the mindset that if this is going to be one of the last projects I ever do for college, then I'd be going out with one hell of a bang! With assistance from my younger brothers and cousin, I went out to a torn-up field in a local industrial park and proceeded to choreograph them for what became a grand total of 625 photos taken. I then proceeded to edit all 625 photos in Photoshop, most just to get the color tint I wanted and some others for extra effects. All the effects, from energy balls to fire streams to lightning to glowing eyes and etc. were made from scratch to emphasize what I wanted to pull off. In essence, I purposely made this my most time-consuming and ambitious Photoshop project to date and flexed a good portion of my creative muscles with it. Once all the photos were set, I pieced them together to the chosen song and exported it. I threw it up on YouTube to share as well because I'm just that damn happy with how it came out. Just adding this, too: The shoot itself took about two and a half hours. It took a total of 42 hours, most of which was nonstop work with lots of sleep lost, to edit everything for the final product. The song I chose is "With My Mind" by Cold, one of my all-time favorite songs. The basic story is that this guy was used as an experiment in order to create a psychic supersoldier, but he managed to escape. Two other less powerful psychic experiments are deployed to stop and capture him, and a psychic war ensues. I've gotten comments from some people about how the look alone reminds them of the movie Chronicle, which is ironic because that was not my intent at all and yet looking back it does seem that way. Here is a link to the video itself for your viewing pleasure! http://youtu.be/we1dUCAM9nY |
