Deadline: Noon EST Tuesday, September 15, 2015 |

EPISODE 22 Back To The Beginning It did not take long for Kennedy Street to show her disappointment in Chef Charles Cummings, in an electronic fashion. No sooner was Chef Cummings back in his locker room after not being successful in the Male Battle Royal at Apocalypse, he received a text on his iPhone, from the former SCW World Champion herself, in bright red. Come on Charles. You’re better than that. You were supposed to win that battle royal and then win me the championship back. Charles reads the texts a few times, before keying in his response in white. I know Kennedy, and I am sorry. My mind was elsewhere tonight, but that is no excuse. Going forward I will do my absolute best to not disappoint you again. Charles hits send and waits to see if a reply will come. One does not come right away, so Chef Cummings gets changed out of his wrestling gear. By the time he is dressed the way he wants to be, he sees that a new text has come in. You better not. You also better hope that that Vixen Cain, that booper and Chris Cannon do NOT win my World Championship later on tonight. I will not be a happy woman, not at all, and you will be all to blame. Upon seeing this, Charles nods and completely understands that he needs to keep his mind fully on SCW, and more importantly Kennedy Street, instead of on his Culinary Institute. He makes his response back to her. I fully understand Kennedy. From this point forward, you will have my full and undivided attention. It does not take long for a one-worded response to come from Kennedy. Good. Charles keeps his eyes on his iPhone texting screen for a bit longer, but nothing else comes from Kennedy. With that being so, Charles gathers his belongings and leaves his assigned locker room. However he does not leave the arena. Instead he heads over to the catering area and watches the remainder of Apocalypse on one of the televisions in the area. He does put on a bit of a cheeky grin when he sees what happens at the end of the Kissinger/Chastaine match. But besides that, he just watches intently until it is time for the main event. Right at the start of it Charles walks away from catering, putting his belongings in a safe place before he does so. He then heads right to a good spot so he can easily make certain that Chris Cannon, Vixen Cain and Ducky do not win the SCW World Championship. In the end though, much as it was when Ducky first started booping Kennedy Street on the nose, Chef Cummings’s assistance was not needed. Yet at least he still looks satisfied. He heads back to catering, takes back his belongings and departs the arena. Once he is out by his rental car, Charles goes ahead and texts Kennedy the results, just in case if she has not been watching. None of our enemies is the SCW World Champion, Kennedy. I will be on my way. Please let me know if you would like me to prepare you a late night snack fit for a queen. No immediate response comes, so Charles puts his items into the car and drives off. It is a few minutes later, on the interstate, that Charles sees the text come in in the red font, but based on the wording, it is clearly not from Kennedy. Yo, that won’t be necessary. Stop bothering Keenie. She’s fine and doesn’t need your help, yo. Chef Cummings immediately reaches his right thumb over and deletes that text and doesn’t bother replying, knowing full well who the text is coming from. He puts his full right hand back on the wheel and continues driving to his next destination, that being his hotel. Once the car is in park, he gets out of the rental car he has, leaving his wrestling gear inside, being that he knows he’ll have to lug it out the next morning otherwise. Charles meanders into the hotel, right to the lounge that the place has and buys a bottle of wine. Curiously he does not open it, instead just bringing it back to his room, which is where he retires for the night. ~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~ With it being the next day, Charles has long since been awake, at a local kitchen in Pittsburgh. It seems like he is already putting on the finishing touches on an array of small appetizer-like dishes. Each plate looks like it should be art, as is per the normal with Chef Cummings. As he finishes, he puts all of the small plates on one tray. He brings them out to a secluded, dimly lit area of the room that he’s in now and gently places the entire tray down. Charles then walks away. He does not even see Kennedy Street sit down by the food that he has obviously just prepared for her. Yet he is grinning as he gets back to the kitchen, being that he most likely heard her heels clacking against the floor and could smell her extremely sweet scent. Now back in the kitchen, he cleans up appropriately, just like he always does. Charles is not one to leave a mess. Apocalypse was an exception to that rule. And judging by the small plates of perfection he has laid out for the woman he believes wholeheartedly should be the SCW World Champion right now, it sure looks like Charles’s head is screwed back on tight. As soon as everything in the kitchen has been restored to where it was before Chef Cummings walked into the place to cook, Charles’s focuses back on what lies before him, his next in-ring battle. He looks up and over at the man holding the camera, which has already watched him cook the beautiful looking Mexican tapas that are now undoubtedly being savored by the lovely, life-saving Kennedy Street. Charles- Since you’re still here, you may as well continue to make yourself useful. Just like how I need to make myself more useful. At Apocalypse, I will admit it, I was not myself. I was distracted with something that was going on away from SCW. It distracted me from doing what truly mattered, and that is helping get Kennedy back her SCW World Championship. It was wrongfully taken from her at Rise to Greatness by Monarchy’s antics, and I was supposed to be the one to set things right. If my head was where it should have been, I would most definitely be telling a much different tale. However since I failed, I will have to make amends, to get back on Kennedy’s good side. I know what must be done, and well, facing someone like Brandy Danielle, it will only be an appetizer of a start. Brandy, you are no threat to Kennedy’s position here in SCW, but I know why I am up against you. It is because you too had an awful performance at Apocalypse. We both had the same opportunity and both of us clearly did not have our eyes on the prize. Trust me on this one thing Brandy. That will not be my mentality in Portland. I have disappointed Kennedy once already, and once is one time too many. Chef Cummings pauses to look around the kitchen. Everything looks to be in order to him, so he continues with what he feels needs to be said. Charles- Being defeated this soon after Apocalypse is not an option for me. Yes, yes, you will do your best to challenge me Brandy, because from what I have heard, you love challenges. However here is the thing, and it is one of many things I have learned from my years of fighting underground, away from the kitchen, before coming to SCW. Challenges and victories are two different things. While it is rewarding being victorious in a very challenging fight, in the end, it is the victory that matters. This Wednesday, this victory is a very important beginning for me, and second-hand, for Kennedy as well. Once I get on the right track, the winning track, which I know I am capable of, she will be able to sit back, relax, and curl up with a good book, before she returns to take back what is hers. In the meantime, I will prove to her, B. Real, and the rest of the Keenie Nation that I am not a liability nor am I a failure. As far as you go Brandy, you will continue to never be a threat. You will not be one to her, you will not be one to me, nor will you be a threat to the Keenie Nation as a whole. Instead, your body will be broken on the mat, as you will have faced and received your Just Desserts, thus being the newest appetizer on the SCW menu that I have defeated, in the name of the lovely, perfect Kennedy Street. Charles holds up a piece of paper that has three hashtags written on it, all in red writing. The camera stays focused on them. #BrokenBrandyBottle #KeenieNation #KitchenIsClosed |
