Jake Starr vs. Simon Lyman
To say Jake Starr has been ensuring he remains one of the most hated people on the roster would be an understatement. At Under Attack, after threatening Autumn Valentine and then attacking Gable Winchester before then coming down, only to be stopped, to attack the Sisterhood and potentially Standing Room Only after their Tag Team Championship match in retaliation for their show of unity at the Breakdown a few nights before. Now, Simon Lyman has stepped up to take on Jake Starr on Breakdown as Jake Starr looks to just add another victim to his list of people he’s pushing back down the ladder.

NOTE ABOUT THE SHOW: The show will be taped on Wednesday, but broadcast Friday night. So please consider that for any tweeting. We have been pre-empted for MLB Baseball Playoffs.

2 RP Limit per match
Deadline: Noon EST Thursday, October 22, 2015

The Two Jakes

Simon: You know, there was a time that I had a ton of respect for Jake Starr, and I am not even talking about Jake Starr the professional wrestler as far as his skill set goes right now, because I still have a ton of respect for what Jake can do in the ring. Everyone on our roster in SCW should respect what Jake can do in the ring, because purely from the perspective of the ability to get it done in the squared circle? There are still very few on the roster, or anywhere in the world for that matter who can compete with what Jake brings to the table and if you are stepping into the ring against him and don't respect that, then you are a fool.

The man has it all, size, speed, power, agility, technical, and high flying ability as well, which is not to say that I am here to kiss Jake's ass, and none of this is for his benefit or entertainment either. I don't kiss anybody's ass to begin with, never have throughout my entire career and as good as Jake has been, still is, and still can be going forward, I am not going to change that fact by starting with kissing his ass. I am not delusional either, so I am well aware that anything I say here right now is not going to have any effect on Jake whatsoever. This is not me, a veteran of this sport clinging to the hope that something I say will somehow sink deep enough into Jake's skull, that he will realize how what he has been doing is tarnishing his own legacy in this sport and that he will suddenly one day wake up and start acting like the man I remember who was worth my respect on personal level as well.

I know as I sit her talking to all of you now, that the likelihood of that happening is somewhere between “don't hold your breath” and “keep on dreaming Simon.” So again this isn't personal appeal to Jake to have some sort of epiphany, wake up, and be the man that should be a well respected leader in the lockeroom, and a public face to promote this company, because I know that Jake doesn't give a damn about any of that any more than anything else I am going to say here today, as I get ready to face him at Breakdown in Denver. Any sort of thing coming from me like that we be nothing more than a waste of breath of time on my part, so instead this is for everyone else watching. I want all of you, most of whom take every available opportunity to run Jake and his legacy through the dirt on a regular basis to take a moment and step back, remembering how good this man is.

Jake Starr is a member of some very exclusive clubs here in Supreme Championship Wrestling, clubs that I will not by shy in admitting that I would one day like to see my name included as a part of. Last year on January 26th at War of the Roses when he won the United States Championship, Jake joined Jay Gold, Christian Savior, Dillusion, Greg Cherry, and David Helms when he became the sixth Supreme Champion in SCW history. You want to talk about an exclusive list? I am confident that one day all six of those gentlemen will be a part of the SCW Hall of Fame and rightfully so. Being a Supreme Champion is one hell of an accomplishment, many would say and I would agree the greatest accomplishment you can achieve inside an SCW ring. You want an even more exclusive club though, try this one; Jake Starr is one of only five men to have won the SCW World Championship at least three times along with Jason Zero, CHBK, Greg Cherry, and Shawn Winters yet another hall of fame list.

I could go on but I think everyone gets the point, that Jake has done things which the rest of us would like very much to one day do ourselves, and there is no doubt that he has a legacy to rival some of the greatest our sport has ever seen. That is why when I sit and watch something like what Jake and his nephew did at Under Attack to Gable Winchester and Autumn Valentine who didn't deserve any of that shit it really pisses me off for a variety of reason. It pisses me off because yes, I know that Jake is someone who craves the spotlight, loves to be that center of attention with everything he is doing at the forefront of everyone else's mind but he doesn't need to pull shit like that in order to accomplish that goal. Just like he doesn't need to carry around a steel folding chair with the constant threat of giving people concussions and shortening their careers isn't necessary in order for Jake to get the notariety he so desperately craves.

Those things aren't necessary because as I have already detailed Jake could easily achieve the attention he desires just by going out to the ring and being better than a lot of people in that same locker room he should be a respected leader of night in and night out. Jake could have the world's attention on him for being a 3 time world champion, and the 6th Supreme Champion in history, and someone that is always a threat to add to his championship total. He could be the type of man I remember, when I think back to Under Attack 2013 where I was honored and privileged to step in the ring and defend my United States Championship against a man I had never faced before, but always admired watching him while I wrestled in other places. That night was of course the first time he had the opportunity to become the 6th Supreme Champion in SCW history and knowing how much he wanted that, and how hard he had worked to earn it throughout his career, it made my victory in retaining my title honestly a little bittersweet, because I did not relish being the one to hold him back from that career accomplishment. That was the same man who with an entire crowd behind him last year did what so many of us wanted to do for so long and gave Silas Mason what he deserved inside of a steel cage. I heard the screams of the fans that night, saw the tears of absolute joy in the eyes of my friend Adam Sharper calling the scene from ringside, so I know that Jake Starr was real, and a credit to my sport!

The difference between the man I faced that night though, and the Jake Starr we are all treated to now on a nightly basis is respect. That man I faced over two years ago now, respected this business, respected its fans, and in the ultimate show of respect for me and the United States Championship after the match was over placed the belt on my shoulder, shook my hand and said “Well done, Champ” even through his own disappointment, before leaving the ring. The Jake Starr we see now? That man would probably come up behind me while the referee raised my hand and blast me in the back of the head with a steel chair if the same situation were to occur, and that is the man I am embarrassed to say is a part of the sport that I have devoted my life too. That man has no respect for anyone he competes with, for the fans who our competition entertains, and even for himself though he would and many others may not agree with that opinion.

You know why I say that though? Because you can tell by the way Jake acts. If he respected himself he would walk with pride over what he has done, not whine consistently that there is not enough attention focused on him, and he would show the respect he should for a business that has given him so much by being that leader I know he can be and sullying his own legacy over and over again by acting like nothing more than a school yard bully or hockey game thug. He wouldn't destroy the reputation he has built in the sport by being its comparable answer to the NHL's Todd Bertuzzi, highly skilled, but with no regard for other people.

The fact is though that Jake has chosen to take the route he has, and if you listen to him speak he has no intentions of going back. He has became the very man that Dylan Howell in contrast to all of the ridiculous statements he makes on a regular basis has always claimed Jake to be since joining the SCW roster. That's why I am so happy to step in the ring with Jake again at Breakdown, and it has nothing to do with me beating him previously either as I discussed earlier. Jake has also beaten me in the past as well. Those things are irrelevant to me being that they are just that, in the past, and bear no weight when trying to decide what is going to happen very soon at Breakdown when we face each other again.

On that night, because of our philosophical differences, Jake and I will step into the ring standing up for very different things against each other. Jake will do as he has for months, step into the ring as angry attention whore, looking to validate everyone's attention being on him by trying to injure me rather than wrestling me, I fully expect it. I on the other hand will step into ring represented every single person Jake has attacked with a chair, every fan Jake has disappointed and disillusioned, and in defense of an entire sport I love that he seems to know no boundaries when disrespecting. So while Jake is always an angry man, he is going to step into the ring across from another very angry man, and I don't think he is prepared for that.

So Jake Starr....

Welcome to the Show!

Simon winks into the camera, even while looking very stern

Simon: It's going to.....

BE SENSATIONAL!
