Ring of Honor returned to the National Guard Armory in Braintree, MA drawing an estimated 600-700 fans. Complete results of the show saw:

*Spanky pinned Alex Shelley

*Azrieal (formerly Angel Dust) defeated Deranged by DQ when Special K hit the ring. Dunn and Marcos made the save.

*Roderick Strong defeated Alex Law, Ricky Landell, and ? and ? (ROH Academy Students). Prior to the match Roderick pulled himself from the Ultimate Endurance match, stating he didn’t want to win the ROH Tag Team championships with anyone other than Jack Evans. After the match, Strong kept beating on Law and Landell (Steve Corino trainees), which brought out Corino to make the save.

*Jay Lethal and Josh Daniels defeated The Outkast Killaz. Prince Nana walked out on the Killaz after the match. They are doing a slow burning babyface turn for the Killaz it appears.

*ROH Tag Team champions The Havana Pitbulls defeated CM Punk & Steve Corino and The Carnage Crew.

*Samoa Joe defeated Nigel McGuiness in what was said to have been a great stiff match. Joe’s theme music is now LL Cool J’s “I’m Gonna Knock You Out.

*Homicide defeated American Dragon Bryan Danielson in a Tap Out match. They brawled in the crowd at one point, which sent the building management into a tizzy. Homicide and the Havana Pitbulls tried to lay out Danielson after the match with brass knuckles but he was able to get them and lay them out. He declared that the second match in his five match series with Homicide would be a Taped Fist Match.

*In his first ROH championship defense, Austin Aries defeated Colt Cabana. Aries hit a brainbuster on ROH’s entrance ramp, setting up a grudge Steel Cage match at the promotion’s Third Anniversary event in Elizabeth, New Jersey.

*The evening ended with a “non-sanctioned” confrontation between Samoa Joe and Mick Foley. Foley initially acted as if he didn’t want to fight Joe, saying he gets paid a lot of money to wrestle for WWE. He teased a heel turn, saying to Joe that he could make him a WWE star. As Joe turned to leave, Foley struck him with the ring mic. Someone behind the ring curtain handed him a steel chair and he ambushed Joe with it and laid him out after several shots and a DDT on the chair on the floor. This is leading to Samoa Joe vs. Mick Foley’s mystery wrestler on 2/19 in Elizabeth, New Jersey. This was said to have been a good segment.

ROH will return to Cambridge, MA on 4/16 with Bobby Heenan scheduled to appear.

They jobbed Shelley to Spanky???? WTF were they thinking??

Angel Dust imo kicks ass.

Sounds like the tag team title match kicked ass and i'm a fan of the pitbulls.

I'm pissed off that they put Joe over Nigel, that's pure bullshi*!!!

Homicide vs Daniels is going to get many votes for feud of the year imo.

Aries vs Cabana is a match i'd love to see.

OMG ...tell me they are not putting Joe over Foley?

I'm going to go ahead and defend some of the match results that you had a problem with. I participate in all of their website's "pick ems" and this is the first one that I did pretty well in. I got all but one right (I picked Gen Next to win the tag titles, Evans got injured, I was going to change my pick to the Pitbulls but I was lazy, Gen Next would've won had Evans not been injured).

First of all, I get the idea that you're really not all that familiar with ROH's storylines.

Alex Shelley lost because he was on a downward spiral. He had just been ejected as the leader of Gen Next so he is in a slump now. It would not have hurt his character at all putting over Spanky. Spanky winning on the other hand is a little iffy. Last time Spanky had a return match he did the job. Why they didn't this time, I don't know. But Shelley losing and furthering his little slump before he goes ahead and feuds with Gen Next was the right idea. Remember now, this was the guy who up until recently was working TNA regularly and was unsure of when he can work in ROH. He seems to be back full time now, but I see him putting over a few guys om the next couple shows.

And if you think Nigel Mcguinness should not have put over Samoa Joe you seriously need to get your head checked.

Storylinewise, the "champ" has just come off a close to two year title reign. What are they going to make him an insta jobber? Nigel Mcguiness is a midcarder. It would make no sense at all to have him beat Joe. That takes away the credibility of an Aries' title win if Joe starts handing out jobs left and right because he's no longer champ. Add to that the huge angle he has coming up with Foley. I can see Joe now getting pinned by Mcguinness and then coming out later in the night to confront Foley.

Reality wise, if you think Nigel Mcguinness is a better wrestler than Joe again... you need to get your head checked. :) I'm not the biggest Joe fan. But generally speaking, Joe has wrestled in the three best matches of this year (in ROH or anywhere), the best tag match this year (in ROH or anywhere), and a hot crowd popping title match with Aries all in the past four months. Joe is fast becoming one of the top workers in the world. Playa hating Samoa Joe was sooooo early 2003.

And I think the previous paragraph responds to why it is absurd to think Mick Foley SHOULDN'T put over Samoa Joe.

And hey on a side note, if you don't mind of course. I'd like to post the ROH results here when they release them on their site. Considering it's their own product, I think they give us a more descriptive results than PWInsider.
