Lupus, this is not a roleplay thread so Sin City Saint was talking OOC. We all are... He was generally 'speaking'. He didn't direct his post to anyone in particular. If you felt identified with his post, then that's a matter you need to solve internally And I never bash any noob

I have, and I'd do it again... I dont do it here, because you guys asked us not to. But in honesty I agree with Mang on this. A lot of times it makes them step their game up, or realise their too lazy to do so and leave... Either way the fed wins. On top of that it puts me in a much better mood, and thats always a plus... And even though I dont do it here, Im still a bit harder on newbs here... Because honestly most of them are morons, and I have to deal with that every time I speak to Coby, last thing I need is to deal with it at other times as well.... I said it... Promo coming soon to a Hardkore arena near you.... Keep an eye out.... |

Personally speaking, I really haven't dealt with any noob bashing here. I mean, hell, Soutter let me write for a match that my character was involved in, knowing full well that I could have made the others look like crap in an attempt to get my character over or something. Corny as it sounds, it means a lot to me. As for the cheating... er, cheaters. Well, to hell with them. They don't deserve to be here. I mean that for anyone, including myself. It's one thing to see something and say, "Hey, that'd be neat. I wonder how I could mold it and make it fit my character." But to say, "Hey, that's neat. *COPY PASTE*" That... that's infuriating. *Steps down from his soapbox* |

Dracon , sure i know that . Its clear to me that this is the forum and the promo board is the promo board . I used @You@ in a generic manner , i meant to say that even if someone is completely going out of character in his post, as long as it is written in a rp post i try to think it was not meant to be personal . I apologise to Saint if that came over as a personal statement , because it was not directed at him . I sure am sensible about snobism and superficiality in the forums of a comunity, havent seen that here yet , and i love this fact !! example Lupus replies in here , and you and him talk calmly despite the fact he is a newcomer and doesnt know anything about the e-fedding . Its another thing when someone replies like - "People that use latin names are complete talentless bitches and shouldnt be allowed to talk in here" - when they dont agree with soething said by Lupus. That sure makes me angry , because i might be new in a comunity but that doesnt mean im new to Life . that doesnt mean im neccesarily a moron , nor does that mean that i am dumb and dont know how much is 2+2 . In my eyes it only means that the Persona is a looser that takes his ego boost by being a vet in a browser game . I surely have gone against all odds and against everyone when i saw that happen .Yes even against all the vets, and im sure as hell that i have made a lot of enemies amongs those rows . Anyway , i apologise for these posts that were a tad out of the point . But i had to get rid of this heavy anger in me . Thanks for allowing me to post my thoughts , i hope i didnt offend anyone and i hope my experience in swat will be filled with pleasant moments and lots of friendships Thank you |

You guys hit one of my sore points. I have a lot of respect for Hung and Mang, but I think they are dead wrong...I despise Noob bashing, and I will tell you why. 2 years ago, I joined RS, and I was treated like a noob. I put up with it, because that was the norm, and, I was new to those guys. But it really drove me nuts, because I had been in efedding longer than 95% of everyone there. And this went on for a year. But not here. We created SWAT to be a place where a new guy could come in without someone who wants to make themselves look good at someone else's expense. It doesn't matter who you know, how long you've been around, everyone gets an equal shake, and more importantly, equal respect. Because in the end, the best ones get the push, new or old. And I don't buy for a second that it makes them step up their game. It doesn't. My desire to win is what made me step up my game. My getting bashed for being new made me almost quit. Twice. What the hell happened to giving people the benefit of the doubt? Is it really that hard for people to hold their tongue? I don't think so. People do stupid things all the time, and if you give them enough of a leash, they will make an ass of themselves eventually. I don't need to point it out. I would like to think we are above that. If you need to bash someone, go elsewhere. Everyone is here to enjoy themselves. I really don't feel like hanging around if some asshole thinks he's funny by pointing out something I said or did. That being said, if you come off like some primadonna asshole, and you're new here (and even if you're not), you are drawing attention to yourself you don't need. In the end, you will look stupid. I agree that respect has to be earned. But, courtesy and simple good manners should still be the norm. The internet has perverted any sort of self-control people ever had when it comes to that. If you are new here, or anywhere else for that matter, don't come in like you're the greatest wrestler ever born. You're not. Winning and writing good promos gets you respect, not shit talk and big boasting. The best thing you can do is keep quiet, write good promos, and start winning. I can assure you, if you're good, you will get pushed. And that, in the end, will get you respect. |

Meh, this promo ripping thing is old news. Yeah, its fucking dumb. But it's not like they were hurting anyone but themselves. They ripped rp's, not even good rp's at that, and got found out. Personally I don't give two flying fucks, it's all part of the learning process. As far as newbs go, some of 'em ask for polite help, some of 'em say the wrong thing at the wrong time. I did once. Note once. Okay, a couple times after that. But whatever. 'Way I figure it there should always be a "good cop" vet and a "bad cop" vet. The bad cop tells the new guys why they're such complete fuck ups, and the good guy swoops in to say something like "hey, don't overreact. We all learned once." Then the new guy can proceed to be the good cop's yes man for the entirety of his learning phase. The bad cop can just move around to heckle other people for a while. Yep, that's the way to do it. |

Good Cop. Like I've always been. And Stein, I never saw you as a noob, sure guys like Ice and Uber might have, but hell Ubes is like 15, it's what he does. You are talking more like it was cliquish (which it was) and that's sucky. I don't diss on someone just because I don't know who they are. I don't care if some one hasn't written a single promo in his life, but if he comes out and sounds like they have a brain, and have a basic grasp of the English language then they got my respect. Hell, I remember reading your stuff in the Nevada fed, and I was going to send a guy there to promo battle against you and Mars, but the fed shut down before I could. I never saw you as a Noob, just a new guy coming in. "Noob" promos are promos that come off like: NJ Jones: I'm going to kick your ass you spineless pussies, all of your asses are mine and my finisher the DEAD MAN WALKING. Now shut up and Smellllllllll what NJ JONES is Deep Frying. And that's it, and they never get any better. Even after getting their asses handed to them, but they pulled that kind of stuff in their best friends fed and where 180 time Hardcore/World Champion so they think that they don't need to do any better. I'll dole out criticism to people who I think need to improve, if they want to be world champion. If someone can take a little heat, and get better then they are a better RPer. If they can't take the heat, then it's better that they leave instead of complaining that they don't get title shots when their work sucks. Like Coby said, it's an initiation, and then you get over it. I could have left Hardkore world because they say that Karnage has a roid problem, but I play off it and make the character deeper. That which does not kill us... |

Almost all of the stuff that can be described as from the "clique" was busting balls. People bust peoples balls even when they've been around forever. We bust each others balls all the time and its harmless, except when Hunglow cries and wets his keyboard. Who treated you badly when you came to RS? I didnt know who you were, but grew to enjoy Stein's stuff after a short while. I'd like to think I didnt disrespect you anymore than I would while busting Kilroy or Karnage's ass. The group that seems to get picked on the most are hardkore goth gamers. I'm still not exactly sure why... but they seem to get under everybodies skin to some degree. |

Ahh Nevada, what memories...Domino getting knocked out by a talking cross, a snowman ninja who dressed up in a Quebec Nordiques uniform, Jesus Christ as a muscle-bound, 7 foot manager... *wakes up* It wasn't me I was really bitching about. I was maybe not the best example. Here's a better one. Going back to the RS again, I don't know if you realize this, but 2 guys from Tammy's CWF (Germany) are here doing very well- one is the Australian champ, the other is a contender in the Caribbean. I doubt that the environment is RS back then would have allowed them to progress to where they are today- Germany did not have a good reputation there, and a lot of the wrestlers there suffered for it to some extent. And I think they are leaps and bounds better than they were then. From a fedhead's standpoint though, to me it's only fair to give the new guy a chance to fit in. Logically, if the atmosphere is not welcoming, what will make a person want to stay? Maybe it's policing things a bit too much, but if you don't give these new guys a chance and a little confidence to do what he came here to do, you'll never see what they are capable of. To me, it's all about giving everyone a fair shot. And the reason nobody likes goth gamers is because they take themselves WAY too seriously. But I think anyone that takes ewrestling too seriously are just as funny. I could write a thesis paper on the psychology of it- I find that level of instability fascinating, to be honest. |
