NEW YORK (AP) -- Michael Vick says he's grateful to NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell for giving him a chance to play again. Goodell today announced that he's conditionally reinstating the former Atlanta Falcons quarterback, who was suspended after Vick admitted bankrolling a dogfighting operation on his property in Virginia. The crime resulted in a federal sentence of nearly two years for Vick. In a statement, Vick says he's had a chance to "mature as an individual" during that time, and to "understand the terrible mistakes" he's made. Under the terms of his reinstatement, he can take part in pre-season practices as soon as he finds a team that wants to sign him. A number of teams have already said they don't want him. Once the season begins, Vick can take part in all team activities except games. The commissioner says he'll consider Vick for full reinstatement by mid-October, at the latest. In a letter to Vick, Goodell says he accepts that Vick is sincere about wanting to turn his life around and be a "positive role model for others." He says it's entirely up to Vick whether he succeeds at that. |

Riiiight. Look, I'm all for second chances, but who are we kidding. This piece of shit's never gonna change. I've been a huge fan of Terrel Owens the football player since he was on the 49ers, every year he comes out and goes "Oh, I've changed guys! I swear! THIS TIME I wont be a total douchebag and piss the entire team off! Believe me Ive changed!!!" And yet, every year at the end of the season, "Terrel Owens pisses off entire team, sent home. Also, breaking news: The Sky is Blue!" ....This going to be no different. I'm not at all surprised the NFL let him back in though. |

im betting they were more concerned with keeping the UFL from getting any kinda momentum, which by signing vick to one of their teams,..would give them. |
