Of all the wrestlers that have passed over the years, who do you miss the most ? mine is definitely jay youngblood. he and rick steamboat were my favorite team of all time. man im tellin ya their run in the mid 80s and their feud with the sarge and kernodle was something magical to watch. in addition to jay, id also say i just miss the old days and everybody that made me believe. |

Eddie Guerrero and Chris Benoit. They inspired me to give wrestling a second chance after an eight year hiatus. Without them wrestling again, it just feels like nothing else satisfies me anymore. Especially with everyone getting fired, released, or dying. |

Perfect. The fact that the father had to bury his son is especially a heartbreaker for me. Otherwise, Owen Hart. He got wrestling and would make the product so much more enjoyable for everyone. |

In the 30 years that I have been watching wrestling the two wrestlers that I can honestly say hit the hardest when they passed and whom I miss the most are Andre the Giant and Eddie Guerrero. Andre because as a kid, seeing a real life giant was a thing of wonder. Add to the fact that at any given time, no matter what promotion(s) my cable company would pick up, chances are I got to see Andre. He quickly became my favorite...until the Horsemen came along of course and I was truly saddened when he passed. As far as Eddie goes...man that one hit me super hard. I didn't find out about his passing until around 6:30 or 7pm the day it happened. I remember turning on my computer and seeing on Yahoo news that a "WWE Superstar" was found dead. I clicked the link and when I read Eddie's name I immediately began crying...not tearing up or blinking a tear...crying. Few people understood why I was so upset. You see, as a Mexican-American, Eddie was OUR Champion. The night he defeated Brock Lesnar for the title was without question the biggest night for any Hispanic wrestler in a U.S promotion. Sure, Pedro Morales had been WWWF Champion 20 years prior but, being Eddie, it was so much more special for us. Others that I miss greatly: Jay Youngblood Gene Anderson Mitsuhara Misawa Gorilla Monsoon Curt Hennig Owen Hart Hawk |

I'd have to say both Eddie and Chris. I've been around wrestling for 20ish years. The two fo them brought so many joys to my world as I watch them wrestle. It also helps that I met both of them in the mid 90's in Cali. They both gave time to me and my freinds who saw them going into a hotel just outside of San Fran. They both took more then enough time to sign things for us and take picture. Though the best thiing I'd say about it was the fact tht they both were willing to talk to us about how it was like being a wrestler and living on the road. |

I liked Benoit.....and I wish that his legacy wasn't tarnished by how his life ended.....as a wrestler, he was one of the great technicians and storytellers....as a man, ughh... If I had to vote for just one...I'd go with Owen Hart. I do not believe he was technically better than Bret, but he was a much better "all-rounder" as they say. Bret was never a high flyer in any way...Owen had a sound mastery of the "Hart basics" in shoot grappling, but his aerial moves were the best the family had to offer. He was the best all around talent in the ring....and very underrated on the mic. I still believe they missed a golden chance to do more with the "Owen 3:16 says I just broke your neck" deal after the botched move with Austin. So yeah.....the King of Hearts is who I miss most....not just for the ring stuff, but the fact he was THE family man outside of it. His entire life was grounded in the right place so that, as Bret says in his book, they could "get out on the other side alive". Just crushing. My 3 yr old son loves wrestling and the ONLY matches on my DVD's and tapes he sits still to watch are Owen's.....the ONLY one. everyone else he runs around mimicking...but with Owen.....his attention is drawn. That may be what I miss most.....he makes it worth watching, even for a child and I know that I don't look forward to the day when my son realizes all those matches were circa early 90s and that Owen has no new events....and I must explain Kemper Arena :-( |
