Yeah thanks for proving my point.... It is what people specifically do not see that eventually has to be revealed to deepen the character and keep things fresh and interesting. A gimmick is great, but it must be freshened up or somehow tweaked over time or it gets stale. Even the Undertaker spent time as an outlaw biker dude to freshen it up...and low and behold the biker stuff was actually pieces of who Mark Calloway really is....ie the stuff not originally known by the audience. Yes he has returned to the original gimmick, but everyone knows that it is more about mystique now than him being some undead reaper. Again...the character has evolved more and is deeper than before because of it. |

Right. Eric went from a Rey Mysterio clone, to Randy Orton cocky arrogant heel, to Teacher to show that he evolved from that stage and is now willing to pass down his knowledge to other people after having served his time at the top. Freebear just feels like he repeats the almighty BEAR THAT FLIES X500000000000000 without any sort of evolution. |

Actually, that example in particular ruins kayfabe because it asks the audience to consider that this same guy who is this great big unstoppable zombie monster is also a redneck biker. They specifically state that this huge undead zombie guy is actually closer to a regular human being... With no storyline explanation given! They're bringing the fans closer to what Mark Callaway really is, which is the anti-thesis of what kayfabe means. Here's a link to a textbook definition so as to prove my point: http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/Kayfabe They even point that out in my Undertaker comic review I just posted, which makes it double-flabbergasting that you would post such a thing! |

Whatever you do in other e-feds is your own thing, I will state that in all instances of SWAT wrestling you've been this wannabe sensei. Freebear is a |

Shows you don't pay attention. Heidi signing him to compete in SWAT is what inspired the turn. IC explanation being that once he understood the true meaning of wrestling he wanted to spread that revelation to everyone within reach. His first exposure to old school wrestling after years of being surrounded by soap opera and drama. |

Excuse me, but you're kinda proving my point: ever since you've entered SWAT, you've been doing that "restore honor to wrestling" routine. Since Freebear actually debuted at SWAT, you really have no claims at all of superiority. EDIT No wait: Gaining the belt gave the Freebear legitimacy. He started out as a flying bear and is still a flying bear, but I've also built him as an embodiment of the values prevelent in old school southern wrestling. Rather then just having him do good deeds (which he does), I'm tying his promos to reflect how Freebear is closer to what a Mid-South region should look like! Your move, Mr. I'll push my lucha libre wrestling no matter what... Edited by Christian, Nov 10 2009, 10:54 PM.

Except I explained mine in detail with a CD series slowly building the change in heart. He realized the true meaning of wrestling and repented of his sins, apologized to people for treating em like shit in the past... aka SWAT was the beginning of his face turn after three years as heel... aka I evolved, you didn't. |

No: you don't even realize it but you're proving my point! YOU HAVEN'T CHANGED SINCE ENTERING YOUR CHARACTER TO SWAT!!! All that you've explained is pretty much a prologue explaining why the "SWAT" Eric Herrerra is how he is. He didn't evolve from that in SWAT (he wasn't "Randy Orton-heel" in SWAT), he came in like a "wrestling-teacher" of sorts after explaining his past as a backstory. EDIT: In case you didn't notice, I edited my last post to disprove you further. Edited by Christian, Nov 10 2009, 11:10 PM.

Backstory > repeating yourself a million times without explaining WHY you act that way. Aka character development, you missed the point. |

Sorry, but you haven't shown how there was character development within SWAT. You've shown your character has a backstory (and I have the same thing; with added character evolution from competitor to champion to embodiment of Southern wrestling values), but not evolution. EDIT: Okay, I'm re-reading you. How dare you think I don't have a backstory when you goddamn used my wikia profile in your promos, which actually shows... MY BACKSTORY!!! You're acknowledging my backstory in promos, but not in OOC discussions? WTF? Edited by Christian, Nov 10 2009, 11:12 PM.
