So yeah, I figure, I've been on the subject so much, why not make a thread about it? Also because I will (eventually) alter the title bar above to either be more compact or remove it and put it elsewhere. While this is not a political board that I can just use willy nilly as a soapbox, I do need to get things off my chest and, perhaps, help you all else vent or plan as well. Thus, Politics General (and its friends, Politicis Any Specific Topic that we happen to get engaged in). And to start it off I have a question: Who among you is participating in Black March? Obviously I am... in fact its easy, I practically live that life anyway. Do you know what Black March is? We're not really done too. Besides the eventual return of SOPA/PIPA, we have ACTA to fight against too. Thats a worldwide problem, not just US, so even if you're out of state, help us however you can. I have a favor to ask of you all. Spread this. Spread this everywhere. Facebook. Family. Friends. You don't need to convince them, just letting them know is enough. I think most people are willling to do this, but only if they feel they have the numbers behind them. So spread it like a chain letter, and let everyone else spread it too. So yeah, I'm game. Also on the table, for the more paranoid, survivalist among you all... what you plan to do if shit hits the fan and my worries become true. I see things as getting worse before they get better, though I don't know how much worse. In the event of worst case scenerio, I can attempt to migrate northward to Canada. That, of course, is the "we actually break out into real fighting" or "1984 lockdown" scenerio. Right now, we're not there yet. Also, those tired of our two parties may want to look into The Pirate Party and all they stand for. Well, the internet united once, I wonder if they could unite in such number as to actually be noticed again. I'd love to 'vote pirate'. Consider it a long term goal. |

The ADQ fused with the CAQ which piss me off. We essentially lost the only non-left party here, it does not help that the CAQ is made of turncoats from other party, opportunistic rats only looking to get reelected (like the leader of the former-ADQ who prevented many party member to vote against the fusion, effectively forcing over 2000 members to adopt the change so he can get elected again). Later, I'm going to start making some debate on poltics and elections. Now, I don't expect anyone to, but I want you all to know that you are free to post and debate in this thread (I made it precisely for such reasons). If you feel up to it... politics does inflame, but I think we're all adults enough, if you so felt like participating. I make it no secret that I trend towards vaguely libertarian philosophies, so make of that what you will. Now bed, more cleaning, and hopefully maybe finishing all those posts I have due. |

Today we have.... Obama, I am dissaplushie. Super PACs are a bad thing, why are you urging more of them? It looks like he was against Super PACs but is capitulating to fight the Republicans who are using it. Citizens United was the worse decision to ever come out of the asses of those damned judges ever. I hope they're proud. Then some mostly good news, anything that reduces outside dependence is always a good thing. First happiness that Ron Paul has a strong showing here, then disappointment that his numbers in Nevada did poorly. And finally, just an interesting article on the rise of libertarianism.
