I'm really sorry guys, I just don't have the time to write up posts for this. I'd love to keep going but I think I'd just end up holding everyone up, despite the slow pace. I'm not getting in the way of anyone else posting at the moment so I figured it'd be a good time to drop out. I'll definately still be hanging around the site and I'd love to be involved in any other rps you guys (Or even ones I host, I have a couple of ideas hanging around from past rp attempts that'd work beautifully with a bit of tweaking) host but for now, I'm out :(

Good luck with the rp :)

Aw, sad to hear it Evil, but I completely understand. Good luck doing whatever it is you're doing, and remember, if you ever want to come back, there will be a spot waiting for you. Thanks for participating so far buddy. :)

So I guess your possessed girl will just have to die in the next scene then. :???: I hate to kill characters, but we can't just control her the whole time. If you'd like, we can just have her sacrifice herself and stay back with the king. That way if you ever do come back, she can always make a dramatic return.

The one problem with that "dramatic return" idea is that if she makes said return after we hop on the boat, it'll be entirely convoluted if not outright ridiculous and if she makes it after we reach the elven lands, it'll simply tear open a massive, irreconcilable plot hole. So, if we leave her behind, she's pretty much just gone...

Just to let you guys know, I'm not dead. :P My apologies for not posting, Calculus has been hammering me pretty hard, and my weekdays have been a little rough. I shall post as soon as I possibly can. Hopefully no one thought this had died of inactivity, as I am still very much interested in carrying on. Thank you all for being so patient. ;)

It feels like this RP is in the emergency room trying desperately to hang onto its last shred of life.

I'm still here as well, for the record.
But mostly? The assorted plans at play here would be going very, very wrong due to the actions of a no-name, no-count, utterly talentless Magus by the name of Shirou Emiya. He had no magic worth mentioning, no combat experience of note, and no plan for or knowledge of the War he was about to enter. He did, however, have one trait that had derailed a countless number of such grand, far-reaching schemes throughout history.

You see, he really, really wanted to be a hero. -(Best description of the start of a Fate novel ever.)

Well, that's rather negative, Duke. I've seen smaller RPs come back to full activity after a full month without a single post. It's barely been a week, and after this everything will proceed much more quickly. We should have plenty to post about soon. But for now I am extremely tired, just got back from an XC race, and will try to post after a nap. :P

I was planning on it, but I felt like I was already giving plenty enough to respond to without throwing that in there, not to mention how much longer it would make my post. However, it should be safe to say that the exciting part will come just as soon as most everyone makes a post. Any bets on what it will be? :P

Freaking unicorns will eat through the walls, and then use a soul poison on us injected through their horns which causes our significantly less corporeal selves to be affected by the laws of physics, and as souls are rather weighty, they will tear through our physical bodies, killing both in the process. They will then lap up the soul essence, and spitting it into a wad and stamping on it together, use the combined essences of our crazed dying souls to create a new unicorn. Only this one will be worse because it can be taught the TM for Psychic.

I am never letting you DM for an RPG I'm involved in. Ever. Simply because, seeing as you'd have time to plan, what we would encounter would be worse that this...

Is everyone going to find the robed guy suspicious? I mean, surely there must be some people who who are actually trusting of others...

That said, I need a bit of extra information before I make my post, i.e. is the robed man sending out any overtly strong feelings or emotions that Victoria would pick up on?

Good post, Mustard. But James is a Sartherian. : P
I know. I always had him as a Sartherian. :P

Smugleaf: He's mysterious figure in robes with great magical power and you can't see his face. And he's called the Patriarch. I realise this is my Dark Heresy player speaking here but you should immediately distrust somebody caled The Patriarch (even if it is simply because he's probably some alien cultist whose going to rip your face off).

Well, yeah, but you have to realize something: There's a difference between player knowledge and character knowledge. Just because you know something doesn't necessarily mean your character knows it, too. For instance, Duhos has never even heard of Dark Heresy and thus doesn't have the subsequent instinct to distrust someone purely because they're called "The Patriarch."

My character isn't really worried about the patriarch exactly, more this mysterious 'the price' stuff going on.

Yeah, the dark overtones were meant to be a tad obvious, so your characters should pick up on it. At least by the creepy voice and face cloaked in shadow. On the other hand, this guy is technically on our side, as he is a member of the Church of Light. I was just trying to show the creepy, dark side of the church more completely before we left Sunkeep. If Evil was still with us, his character would have a great reaction to the Patriarch; unfortunately, he is not, so I'll probably throw something in for his demon-girl.

And to answer your question, Duke, I give you free reign over what your character will sense from him. He'll be a very strong mage, obviously, but I wouldn't really classify his powers as particularly evil or good. He will be pretty neutral emotionally; that's his job, afterall. Above all though, his main purpose is to be mysterious, so no mind reading; his thoughts would be blocked off anyway. :P

Quirk, we really must collaborate on some of these ideas of yours, because that is almost exactly what I was planning. :P
