I'd definitely invite a lot of guest judges on days when you're testing then. :P

So, what are some of your favorite "tricks" in sparring? Moves you use a lot, strategies you like, etc. I've got a few things in my "toolbox" (as my master calls it), but I'm always looking for effective fighting strategies. :)

Angular steps and multi-kicks. Right jab is also quite useful.

Agreed, I don't think I've stepped in a straight line at an opponent in years. :P I'm a left sided fighter, so my jab is usually a quick punch with my left. My forte move though has got to be my step off at an angle and rear side kick. It's not the fastest kick, but with the right timing it is a hugely effective counter. Especially when people don't expect it; they'll double over for minutes.

Not saying I'm a violent guy, in case it came off that way; I just really love fighting people. If that makes sense. :D

My prefered counter is a front leg side, fast, easy to aim, and even if I mess up my long legs keeps them at bay or delays them long enough for a better retreat or counter.
