We need a topic where we share desktop pictures. Why? Because I said so.

So what do everyone's desktops look like? (Don't forget to spoiler the pictures.)

Here's mine

Here's mine, from Fate/Stay Night, which should be totally unsurprising. The character is Gilgamesh. He's responsible for so many of your deaths in the game it's not even funny, but on the other hand, he's also totally badass when he's on your side, so that makes up for it.

But mostly? The assorted plans at play here would be going very, very wrong due to the actions of a no-name, no-count, utterly talentless Magus by the name of Shirou Emiya. He had no magic worth mentioning, no combat experience of note, and no plan for or knowledge of the War he was about to enter. He did, however, have one trait that had derailed a countless number of such grand, far-reaching schemes throughout history.

You see, he really, really wanted to be a hero. -(Best description of the start of a Fate novel ever.)

No widescreen? That's got to suck.

I should have guessed, Duke... :P

And that's Gilgamesh? I figured he'd be a bit more... Sumerian-y. At least a beard or something.

Anyway, I'm pretty boring.

I barely ever look at my desktop anyway, so it doesn't much matter to me what the image is or whether it has widescreen or not.

And yeah, Darkom, you would think he'd look more Sumerian, but he's not. Then again, it's a Japanese game, and you know how they take liberties, I'm sure.

He does have shiny golden armor though. He just never uses it. Presumably because that would make him effectively invincible.

Of course. The shinier and more outlandish the armor, the more protection it offers. Especially when a hot anime girl has a low cut steel armor top and skirt. Makes perfect sense. :P

The "Chainmail Bikini" trope isn't exclusive to Japan, you know. It pretty much exists anywhere that swords & sorcery fantasy and women exist. So, everywhere.

Smugleaf; that picture stares into my soul. I don't know how you can work with it, because I have trouble tearing my eyes away.

Anyway, a background I just finished putting together; 40K, biznatches!
