What do you guys think so far? I don't want to spoil anything as yet, I've put a scary amount of time into the game so far... I think it's better than Morrowind, sure it has a few small problems and I can't wait for it to get modded but how many other games are there where you can play for 40 hours and still feel like you've barely scratched the surface? It looks fantastic, it feels so much more like a real coherent world than Oblivion, honestly the biggest fault I can find with it so far is that it's still basically pointless to buy equipment from shops.

I don't know if I'd necessarily say it's better than Morrowind, but it's at least on par and definitely better than Oblivion. The quests are more interesting, the combat feels more natural, and the difficulty has been raised significantly. You can get one-shot by a giant. Makes it really fun to hunt them, because you have to keep running away from them, then turn around and hit them and run away again.

Definitely an improvement over Oblivion, and even tops Bethesda's contributions to the Fallout series, but it's still up in the air over whether or not it beats Morrowind for me. That said, I haven't had as much of a chance to play it as I'd like, and I feel like I've barely scratched the surface, and that's after a good 10 hours of gameplay; hell, I'd have completed most other games by now, so that's definitely a point in its favour.

All in all, one hell of a game, definitely in my top 5 for 2011.

I am in love with it. :) Been playing almost non-stop now for almost a week, made about six characters so far, and killed five or six dragons (most with my Redguard Battlemage). Most definitely better than Oblivion, hands down, and it's starting to grow on me more than Morrowind. I mean, it doesn't have quite the intrigue and feel of Morrowind, but it's closer to it than Oblivion ever was. The level of content is outstanding, the graphics amazing, and the improvements in combat, levelling, and quests make it well worth the wait. The only thing I'm more excited for is the awesome mods I'm sure are yet to come. I'm hoping for a hand to hand mod soon, maybe a companion commands/AI fix as well. Also, the marriage system is a little ridiculous, so I hope that gets fixed soon too. I shouldn't need a special amulet to start a relationship with someone. :P

Skyrim blows Oblivion out of the Water, and sometimes I feel liek it could go on par with Morrowind in some departments. All of the dungeons are so so interesting, I no longer am groaning through dungeon grinds. The challenge is much better, I feel rewarded whenever I kill a Draugr Deathlord. At fist I was a bit skeptical about the leveling system, but now I find it so interesting with all of the new perks I find myself thinking about what perk I want next as soon as I buy a new perk. This game is going to suck so much time away from my life, and I love it!

Also, Dragon-fighting is awesome. Fus Ro Dah!

Quite honestly, there are only a few things that I even want to change about the game. I doubt I'll have very many mods this time around, and considering the hundreds I had for Oblivion, that's saying something. :P

The only things I might look into is a new UI, because the current one is completely console based, and a few minor things. Like the ability to break weapons down into raw materials to use for smithing, or a new Dark Brotherhood armor (I don't know who wanted skin tight leather again, but it's awful). Also, spell creation is something I'd look into, and throwing weapons. Other than that, I really can't complain about much. :)

You won't be able to get a new UI, because it's flash based instead of xml. Personally, I think being able to break down weapons into raw materials would break it, because you could just keep smithing stuff and breaking it down and smithing it again. I don't mind the lack of spell creation either, since spells are much more unique now. I would like throwing weapons and different Brotherhood armor, though.

Really, the only change I want to make is changing Greatswords into Claymores. Sounds much cooler.

I got it, but I've not even installed it yet: Star Wars The Old Republic beta comes first for me. Not that SW:TOR is a better game, but the beta is free, temporary, and very fun. Once the beta ends I'll go to Skyrim.

So far I have 92 hours in the game and I've loved every second of it. I'm probably going to wait until I break the 150 mark before installing any mods though.

Drats, that UI is really killing me. At least there are a few minor tweaks that make it better already. And I disagree, seeing as how the whole thing is up to the player. It could be used that way, sure, but I'm a realism player myself; I usually avoid cheats and things. Once a good hunger/sleep mod comes out I'll be getting that too. :P

True, I do like the spells, I just liked how I could go back and upgrade my spells in Oblivion. The perks go some way in helping this, but it's just something that makes sense to me. Perhaps it could be high up on the perk tree somewhere, though I don't know what skill. I would say Mysticism, but that's gone, so I'm not very sure what else would work. And yeah, claymores are a must have; if a mod does not exist by the time I get around to making a Nord warrior, I shall go do it myself. :P
