Character Number- Third Name- Morgoroth Garack Age- 23 years Gender- Male Sexuality- Heterosexual Appearance- Morgoroth is a most intimidating man, standing at 6’6” and weighing in at 270 pounds of muscle. Most have difficulty determining his age, as his features are smooth and pale. Although he has seen much combat in his life, he has yet to receive any scars of note. The only scar worth noting is a small nick on his left thumb obtained when rock-climbing in his youth. All of his exposed skin is clean, and smooth. Morgoroth has gone to great lengths to maintain an appearance of beauty despite his horrendous and evil nature. However, he does not often smile, for he does not wish to reveal his crooked and jagged teeth, a shortcoming of which he is most ashamed. When Morgoroth speaks around strangers, he tries to speak without revealing his teeth; he would be loathe to allow a potential victim a glimpse of what is to come. His eyes are a dark, muddy brown which appear devoid of emotion, which they often are. His nose is large and hooked, giving the appearance of a wicked bird of prey; and he is no stranger to artfully taunting and hunting both animals and humans. His slick black hair is often changing styles, as Morgoroth is a rather fickle being, unable to cling to a single fashion or decision for any great length of time. However, his most recent and longstanding hair style has been to grow his hair down past his shoulders, shave each side of his head, and leave a two-inch thick strip of hair running down the center of his head, which feeds into a ponytail. At first, Morgoroth was worried the ponytail did not appear threatening or manly enough, so he weaved various human bones into it and decided it looked alright. Morgoroth frequently changes what he calls his “commoner garb” to reflect his desire for constant change. He often wears flamboyant and bright colors to draw attention to himself, hoping someone will foolishly pick a fight with the rainbow-colored mountain man. He is also quite fond of wearing jewelry, although he has no piercings; he believes they would compromise his “beautiful” skin. Instead, he opts to wear numerous bracelets, bangles, and necklaces, all incredibly gaudy in design. Despite his absurd fashion sense, Morgoroth has one set of clothing that serves all purposes, a family heirloom that he cherishes above all things. When Morgoroth finds himself entering combat, or any event requiring formality, he dons his crimson plate armor, which has been in the family for generations. Morgoroth finds his true moments of peace and happiness wearing this armor and engaging in battle, or simple intimidation. Personality- Morgoroth is an often quiet man, preferring to allow his fists to do the talking for him. He often attempts to appear peaceful and calm, but in reality, he is quick to anger, and quicker to spur to violence. When he speaks, it is often in short bursts of simple words, punctuated by his vicious, barking voice. Although Morgoroth is physically attractive, his size and aggressive demeanor is most commonly off-putting to the fairer sex. He enjoys female company, but does not actively seek it, seeing women as merely a distraction from work. He is no stranger to sitting quietly in a tavern, contemplating his next course of action. These bouts of contemplation stem from his one true love: hunting humans. Morgoroth does not believe there is much in life to celebrate, other than the thrill of hunting and taking human life. He feels alive in the preparation, attracting attention to himself with his outlandish appearance to find new targets. He delights in stalking his prey for days on end; memorizing their routines until he can find the perfect time to strike. From time to time, Morgoroth will capture rather than kill his target and transport him to his family’s hunting grounds. It is here that Morgoroth will release the poor soul into an obstacle course and gleefully watch his victim struggle to escape, only to have hope dashed away by the edge of Morgoroth’s blade. It is with the death of another human that Morgoroth feels a euphoric surge of happiness, before quickly lapsing into a depression, which further sends him into a nearby town to begin the process over again. Rank- Tainted Wyrmling History- Morgoroth was born into wealth, being the only child of a rich and noble family. His father, Hardossah, was a violent warlord known for his wanton cruelty and strange ruling practices. Hardossah rose to power in the local community by defending the commoners from a violent invading force. His unmatched brutality on the battlefield won him favor with the popular, who promptly demanded his leadership expand past times of war. However, Hardossah was unable to transition to peaceful ruling, and quickly began abusing his subjects with unfair taxation and absurd laws, that were enforced with violent consequences. His wife, Helga, who was promised to him in an arranged marriage when they were both quite young, found her husband’s style of ruling unfit. She, being significantly smaller and physically weaker than her husband, too became a victim to his violent outbursts. Morgoroth, as he grew older, began to hate his father more and more for subjecting his mother to such pain. On his 18th birthday, Morgoroth slit his father’s throat while the aging warlord slept. Both Morgoroth and Helga watched in silence as Hardossah scrabbled at his throat, gasping for air as his blood gushed forth, coating his wife and son in crimson gore. With her husband dead, Helga rose to power and restored the land to its former glory. With the landside thriving once more, the people quickly embraced Helga’s reign and did all they could to please her as she opened new trade routes to other, faraway lands. Morgoroth was welcomed with open arms as a savior of the community, having murdered his tyrant father; however, he did not accept this role. Murdering his father gave him his first taste of taking life, and he wished to indulge this taste more and more. Morgoroth quickly embraced his murderous nature, and honed his skills as he aged. At this point in life, he has little compassion for his fellow humans, as murdering has become as natural to him as breathing. Pet(s)- Tiamat, the three-headed puppy of death an destruction. Morgoroth finds that such a strange and rare animal is befitting his social-ranking. He's been attempting to train her to become a vicious killer, but he loves playing with Tiamat too much for her cruel nature to take dominance. The three-headed monster possesses predominantly dark brown, almost black, fur over the entirety of her body. There is a small tuft of red fur atop the middle head, contrasting heavily with the rest of the body's fur. The Dragon Name- Ate Age- Hatchling Gender- Male Element- Earth Appearance- (Thanks for the awesome art, Balu!) ![]() To put it simply, Ate is a complete and utter monstrosity. Morgoroth believed, upon seeing his bonded partner for the first time, that were there a grand creator of the universe, that god must have been dropping acid when he designed the clearly dangerous Tainted Earth. Although young, Ate is still one of the largest from his brood of clutch mates. From these humble beginnings, he shall only grow larger and more fearsome with each passing day, until his rider is nothing more than a noisy blip sitting atop his massive hide. The dragon believes his growth is only limited by subconscious restraints he has placed upon himself, though we shall touch on Ate’s special brand of psychosis later. He is an armored beast, sharing a passing resemblance to a tortoise, if said tortoise rolled around in radioactive goo for an extended period of time and later developed a penchant for murder. Ate’s most striking feature is clearly his tail. Rather than coming to a point like most tails, Ate’s expands grotesquely and forms a fleshy, lipped mace. Were that not horrifying enough, the lips part and retract, to reveal massively sharp fangs, perfect for rending flesh from bone. However, the maw at the tail-end pales in comparison to the sentient-bulldozer Ate claims as his head. Fangs, horns, and eight, cold green eyes all compete to stand out as the most terrifying feature. Despite the competition, they still work in tandem to frighten the elderly and emotionally scar the young. His taloned feet in no way placate any weak hearts, as they are just another instrument of all-encompassing death. Finally, atop his armored back, rest two seemingly non-threatening features. His vestigial wings often lay folded against his shell, wilting in their uselessness. And embedded between these two apparently useless limbs, is the neon-green crystal. This oval-shaped stone matches the one Morgoroth carries at all times, and appears to stare out balefully as another eye. No matter which angle you may approach Ate, only spikes and horror await ye. Personality- (Kudos to Balu for the awesome personality idea!) To understand Ate’s intriguing perspective on the universe around him, it is best to start by examining a quote from the dragon: “This is my world, my creation, and in it, I shall tread upon the necks of kings.” Ate is a most peculiar dragon; a strange would expect, based on his appearance, for the dragon to be a simple, murderous engine of death. However, this is simply not the case. Upon first encountering a friend, foe, or bunny, Ate will examine and study the creature, before attempting to coerce the stranger to his will. In a voice reminiscent of bleak, malfunctioning machinery, Ate will calmly explain that all other creatures must bend to his will, for he is the only thing certain to exist. A Solipsist, Ate is convinced that only his mind exists in this world, and all other things are an extension of his psyche. He is uncertain of his purpose within his created world, but believes his subconscious has crafted the universe so that he may discover something about himself. To Ate, every new person is a new means to discover something about himself; they’re another piece to the puzzle that is his mysterious existence. Each person represents something within himself that he must learn or understand. Morgoroth, the first human he spoke to, quickly bent to his will as to not cause a ruckus during the hatching. However, this only solidified Ate’s Solipsistic beliefs and spawned new ones about his existence. As Morgoroth quickly surrendered himself as part of Ate’s mind, Ate believed this signified the human as his guide in the universe. Whereas other, future obstacles may take more introspection and coercion to overcome, Morgoroth was a weak-minded individual who desired his own reason to go through life. Morgoroth is Ate’s guide and his connection to the rest of the world. If he cannot figure something out, he will rely on Morgoroth to explain the situation to him. Although Morgoroth is confused and frightened by this prospect, he accepts it, as the dragon is his bonded, and his reason to live. They are one strong personality, and one weak personality, fused together to carve out their own bloody existence in the world. |
