I dunno if we've had a thread like this already but here's a thread for listing/discussing your favourite and/or least favourite breeds of dragon! Feel free to go into what your perfect dragon would be if you had the good luck to bond, or just the most awesome dragon you can think of xD

Sekkain breeds:

  • Sonic: ;u; My favourite breed of all. I have an endless love for these beefy, noisy bastards and their gorgeous musical hornssss.

  • Lava: THE FLOOR IS LAVAAA. In my head Lava dragons have the same aesthetic appeal as the balrog from LOTR, and imaging these huge motherfuckers casually walking around town is a mindgasm, not to mention them in battle hurrhurr <333

  • Glass: With the greatest amount of artistic freedom doubled with the beauty of a living glass sculpture, is no wonder Glass dragons catch my attention. I wish I could paint transparent glass, I would draw Glass daggums of every shape and size~~

  • Earth: Again with the mountainous proportions I adore C: Gley made me fall in love with these beasts at the beginning, and I have no idea why I've never made one all this time xD

  • Copper: While I'm kinda ambivalent about Steel/Iron, I have endless love for Coppersss 8| Cute chubby shiny loopyhorn babies. And they're one of those poor darlings who never seem to stick around, despite being a rare breed ;__;

  • Lightning: ZAP ZAP like lava, lightning is a kickass element to harness, and I find Lightning dragons to be super aesthetically pleasing. Beautiful creamy gold scales and antelope horns and graceful legs and funny short snouts <3
Tainted breeds:

  • Disruption: Disruptionnsss! *u* I love these snarly beasts. Somehow their breed description just inspires a billion different designs in my mind. I love everything about them from their blind, toothy faces down to their splintered fingernails and trident-tails C:
  • Abyssal: Trololol how could I not love my own creation? xD FLIPPERGLORIOUS TOOTHY SAUSAGES <3
And there's always daggrums that don't exactly toast your crumpets, glorious designs aside. Waters, Crystals, Steel, Rosies and Forests in their basic form usually aren't my cup of tea. But clearly, as I own and adore three of those there's a lot to be said for design xD

My perfect dragon would likely be a female Lava, huuuuge and bulky like Maggers with broad, tattered wings that could barely get her in the air. She have approximately 5 million toes per foot and be very much like a living chunk of lava. Pitch black with armor like a rhino, taill crocodilian scales on her spine and magma visible between the creases. Her inner flesh would be the same colour, and she'd have such a mouthful of teeth to make an Abyssal jealous xD

And yes I would totally call her Smote |: She would be greedy and gluttonous and hedonistic and demand to be fed grapes <3333333

Sekkain Breeds:

  • Sonic - I have to start off with the Sonics, since waaaaaaaaay back when we were first ironing out the kinks in Sekkai before we even opened it, a sound-based dragon was brought forth by myself, since I thought it was epic. Though actually, started out with gravity and sound being both for one dragon, then they split into two different dragon breeds. But I fell in love with the idea of a sound-based dragon attack, and as such, made my first personal character, San, the rider of a sonic dragon. And I've loved them ever since. <3
  • Lightning - Similarly, with the sonic, I like the elements that are a bit different than the usual basic sets, and I've come to love the idea of a dragon that can conjure up an electrical storm. I just have to wonder how many lightnings have walked into a crowd in a city and set everyone's hair straight up. Because if I was a lightning dragon, I would do that.
  • Glass - This breed is for a lot of the same reasons as Balu. I love the artistic freedom with this breed. There's no limitations beyond one's own imaginations. And one's ability to draw transparent glass creatures. Which, I have enough trouble with those that are colored solid, so.... no pretty glass dragons from me, either. :<
  • Chaos - A breed with a skill all it's own, the chaos catches my eye simply for being uniquely unusual. The most unpredictable of skills, I find them interesting concepts. And would like to RP with more chaos dragons, because I think it'd be just as much fun to interact with one as to play one. If not more so, because then you really don't know what they'll do.

Tainted Breeds

  • Razor - Something about their METALSPIKESOFDEATHANDDOOM just makes me want to cuddle them so much <3<3<3
  • Toxic Septys - BECAUSE HE IS EPIC. And Kazzie loves him.
  • Ruin - I love the ghostly-ness of this breed. It's one that is more focused on the Tainted's destruction of the land and places rather than the destruction of the people. Fascinating design with the masks too, since it reminds me most strongly of the idea of "evil spirits", with these mask-wearing semisolid beings that are out to destroy everything. Creepy and cute~
  • Bulkhead - I have to say I'm quite fond of the Bulkheads. Double forearms, massive size, lava plating and attitude of a volcano god. Every time I think Bulkhead, I think of Hellmouth going "RAWR". Instant epic. Oh, and to top it off, they're ALWAYS WATCHING YOU.

As for the breeds that don't quite fit me, I'd have to admit it'd be the fire and earth dragons the most on the Sekkain side, maybe a little bit for gravity and lava too. And Karma, though that's more that I don't want a Super-rare given that I already have my Kazzie.<3 I have to say the main breed I don't care for as much on the tainted side would have to be the Mycotic, which would also probably go for my least favorite breed of all. They've never quite struck it off with me... Too much stuck to the earth dragon in my head, and a giant mushroom dragon kinda just leaves me a bit confused what to do with it.

Not that any of the dragon's I don't care for as much are dragons I don't like, and I've seen plenty of designs for said breeds that are absolutely GORGEOUS, just more that I don't feel like I'd play their elements very well. And that would be a crime against the unique designs. DX

As for my perfect dragon.... Kazuko. <3<3<3 I love her.

Awesometastic idea Balubeans :3 So here goes...

In no particular order. I tried but some of these are on the same level ^^

Sekkaian Breeds

  • Glass - Quite obviously. I kinda made them because back at old Sekkai every Dragon was too much alike, too much restricted. Not all the snowflaky-ness we have here. And somehow I never got around creating mine even tho I had won a free dragon of any kind on the old site. So... I somehow long to create one of my own breed... only that I can't thanks to them being a rare breed... Which kinda annoys me because I made them and they are my most favorite breed >.>
  • Lava - Beefy, lava spitting, waddling giants with scales that glow from the heat within... Pure love. I know I won't ever be owning one but I'd even be happy to see more of them running around. Tempts me to abuse Proxy to have an Earth sire any future eggs she might have XD I imagine them to be rather warm overall and dripping molten stone where they stand and walk... which is kinda annoying but pretty epic in my mind. I also picture them rather squadish and broad and I love that.
  • Earth - Huge, wandering mountains that are too heavy to fly but tower over anything else? Awesome. Especially once things start growing on their backs. Or mice and birds start making their nests their. I'd love to see one much like a living, wandering rock. Including the bird shit and moss growing all over it :3 If I had the character slot... I'd probably make one.
  • Chaos - Because Chaos' are rather lovely with their runes and wild magic and horns and spikes... Maybe the Chaos' we've had on Sekkai are to blame for this because they have all been pretty epic overall. I know they'r rare and I'll most certainly never own one... but maybe I'll someday have a free slot for Niflheim who is a Bone but has kept many of what I love about their outer appearance... :3
Once on this list Fire also had a slot... but now that I have Proxy... I can't say 'Proxy!' and claim that she is a breed XD she's the perfect fire and I kinda love the larger breeds and especially those that burn... I also like Sonics... but it's more a "I'm a Maggers Fangirl and thus all Sonics must be epic!"-thing so they shall not be listed.

Tainted Breeds

  • Toxic - Glowing pustules and tubes for the win :3 They aren't all that different from Forests... but Sextys made me love them quite a bit. The fact that the color of the Poison is different and reflected on the eggshell is also kinda neat and another thing I love about them. Augari too was darn pretty ^^ Cobrahead ftw!
  • Ruin - The maaaasks! :o I want to see more Ruins around just so I can drool at their individual masks. And they have manes too. I like diversity - Ruins were a great addition to the site and I love them for that!
So Abyssals are one of my more beloved breeds too but since I own Leech, I might be somewhat biased about them ^^ Still, giant wormy maggots totally warm my heart with love.

Least favorite breeds

  • Karma - Hurp. You probably already all heard me ranting about them. Skip if you don't want to do it again.
The new rare breed contest was won by Glass, Chaos and Crystal. But Karma, which was an entry too was not among these three. And there really wasn't any need for them. But instead they somehow were accepted later on without a real announcement, they simply suddenly popped up and took away what Crystal dragons could have done quite nicely. As if another super-ultra rare breed was needed. So when Karmas were extinct and not in the breed-info when new Sekkai opened, I was kinda happy. Only that they seem to be back >.>
  • Air - Back on old Sekkai, they all looked pretty much the same. And I saw more than once that a dragon was rejected for straying too far from the norm. They were all white, all with fluffy feathers... urgh. So that's maybe why I don't like Airs. Also, they are one of the smaller breed and I dislike the smaller ones. Maybe because my characters have been pushed around on the old site once too often. There are, of course, exceptions to this rule. One of which... is Auster. At first, I was rather sad seeing she was an Air but thanks to Balu's wonderful descriptions and pictures, I have learned to love her and her breed and every fluffly, silly feather on her small body. I don't dislike Ionos for example, or Kestrel... but in general, Air is not an element I enjoy

In general, I like many breeds and ony dislike a very few. And with one exception, I only listed breeds where I do not own a character of because I love all of them independend of their breed and wouldn't want them to be any different.
Also... ever since new Sekkai opened and all the Snowflakes begun to show up, I also learned that despite their breed, every dragon can be pretty damn awesome. And I like most if not all the wonderful creations that were made by both users and admins. Even if it's an Air ;)

Edit:
So the perfect dragon...
...would probably Nimh/Nineeyes, a large, bulky Glass Lady who's concept I've written so long ago it's total crap... but she does live inside a mountain of glass, hidden away somewhere in the deepest desert of the south, creating a glass-miniature of every living thing she has seen in her long life. The concept includes her being transparent, colorless glass so the sun can touch the objects inside her mountain and create rainbows. I wish I had created her on old Sekkai while I still could but I was unable to make up my mind between her and a Lava-concept I also had written up v.v

AH! A fresh list. Here are some of my favorites, though nothing has changed that drastically from my first posting. As an overall thought, however, I think each and every breed could be right for me in the right circumstance. Every single hatching, I have my first set of favorite breeds broken by new faces and devilish personalities that I couldn’t have imagined. The fun comes in the plot! Internet dragons forever.

(In no particular order)

Sekkain

  • Air - My very first bonded dragon was Ionos and so airs have a very special place in my heart. They were and still are my favorite of the general breeds. As a marriage of fluff and speed, there is naught but perfection! *u* However, I tend to like less directly bird-like or beaked airs. I prefer ones that take inspiration elsewhere.
  • Forest - I don’t think there is any other breed that can quite have the scope and span that forests have in design. Almost anything in nature can be represented through them and I have my perfect dragon as a forest already. BEE. BUGS AH. Design coupled with an influence over plant-life makes for endless plot and writing potential.
  • Crystal - Glass and Celestial get the shine they deserve, but Crystals have so much possibility! Twist and turn the chemical structures of the world around you into mineral and molecule. An old Chaos could do more than turn water into wine, but a young one has all the potential of awful mistakes. Imagine turning water into fruitcake! SCIENCE. I am in love with them and, one of these days, I’ll find a way to bring Heimdal, my charmingly condescending crystal idea to life.
  • Chaos - AH! The potential here! Turn the world on it’s head or subtly influence the breath from your lungs. Somehow feel the taste of home when you’re far from any semblance of civilisation or food. What is not, IS. I love it!

Tainted

  • Ruins - A little bit bias here for clear reasons. Masks, Fluff, and SCIENCE. The ghosts of chemistry past.
  • Mycotics - Fungus and fear for sure. Of three diverse sizes, mycotics carry some of the most diabolical powers. With acid in their mouths and spores billowing from their backs, they have such a diverse range of fungus to pull from for inspiration. Like forests, a mycotic can draw inspiration from a huge range of form and functions. High as a kite to dead as a doornail with just a breath.
  • Arcane -New and wonderfully crafted, the idea of a magical reactor contained within the core of a dragon is as intense as it plotful. And, with older arcane able to completely negate other magics, theirs alone is the might.
  • Dream - A sliding trail of legs and antlers is such a huge change from the traditional dragons I see, but it is just as remarkable as any of the others. And there is a reason I often mark magical items as ‘dream’ if I can’t think of another likely element. Theirs is alteration and illusion. And that is a mighty power indeed because, if you believe something, then it becomes true for you. And if it becomes true, then it becomes real.

There are no breeds I actively dislike. All of them could become hilarious, dramatic, or just plain fun characters with the right inspiration. The only obstacles I seem to come across are those of size. I have a hard time trying to visualize interactions between small people and huge dragons and that can sometimes keep me from working through things as easily. That being said, however, (though I haven’t used them in an eon) I love my earth mycotic pair. There’s something wonderful about the idea that a man can still beat up his 149-ft kinda-partner after all this time. <3 Uhg, those two. Along those same likes, I tend not to like certain design influences instead of breeds. Like I’m not too fond of birds, I’m also not too keen on fish. Fish as a design base for dragons seems straightforward, but I’d rather have something that looks like a dinosaur or, at the least, a toothy and ancient fish. Far more, I’d rather see a dragon take inspiration from much different sources.

That being said, all breeds are fair and wonderful! Especially wonderful, however, are masks and fluff!

You people and your fancy bullets. pfft.

TOX'S FAVORITE SEKKAIBEASTS.

-Rosemary. I don't know, maybe its my love for fucked up medical personnel, maybe its my love for customization. But in essence the rosemary was one of the few breeds on old sekkai that I could warp and shape to my own liking, the others far to strict. Thus being said I love the rosies because I can make a drab little wtf-is-your-problem baby, and at the same time I can make one that looks like a battle between a rave and a rainbow produced a freakish neon baby that threw up a dragon shape and I'll call it a rosemary!

-Waters. Again with the customization thing, but partially because I have a deep seeded love for all things water and ocean. I adore swimming and I can't really do it enough when I'm out and about, I love sea creatures beyond all reason, and I just love the long slinky nature of the waters compared to the others.

-Earth. The species I've always loved but never had, I adore the earths because they are huge, powerful, and almost always gentle giants. Much like the waters and rosies I can picture the earths being one of the most easiest breeds to design and play with, and for that I love them a lot.

Runners up on sekkaian are: Celestial (duh), glass, and sonics

TOX'S FAVORITE TAINTBEESTS.

-Bulkheads. Much like balu with the 'byssals, how can I not love my own creation? They're everything I love, sheer power, to many legs, to many eyes, they're walking tanks, and they vomit up their weapon and can do more with it than just bleeghpuke (hellmouth and his diamond mist for example). They're also the gods of volcanos and basically hellfire embodied.

-Influenzas. Another personal creation of mine, I. WANT. AN. INFLU. I want one so bad its ridiculous. They're tiny, weedy, disgusting, the opposite of my favored healing rosies, and generally just these nasty little villainous creatures that don't give a fuck accept for themselves. I also made them at a point in my life where I was -incredibly- sick, immune deficiency issues and the like, so they have an outstanding personal outlook to me.

Runners up on taints are: Razors, and Toxics

I don't particularally have a breed I don't like. For, I feel, with enough imagination, any breed can make amazing characters <3

Sekkaian Breeds:

Glass: I lovelovelove the concept for these guys. Always have, which is why it was my first dragon on old Sekkai (lols that it had the same name as Sekkaian Gloire |D) For the same reasons as Balu, the whole art/weapon thing in one was just really appealing. Functional art ftw.
Ice: I might be strange since no one else seems to, but I love the cold. As a native Floridian having grown up in average 90 degree heat for 95% of the year with massive amounts of humidity to boot, I hate oppressive, suffocating heat. Having discernable seasons is nice too XD. But with an Ice you not only have an awesome portable air conditioner, but after moving up further north and seeing the sheer damage an ice storm can cause, how could I NOT like these babies?
Metal: Because the description of their breath weapons is just hnngawesome. Turning your enemies into collectible metal statues is just an epic concept.
Crystal: I always wanted one of these on old Sekkai for some reason. Something about the way they can actually change the hardness of their scales was awesome XD And turning rocks into crystals? Aligning things on a molecular level to make something else? Freaking badass.
Lightning: Came back and added this cause...I forgot to add it in the first place. I LOVE storms. Particularly the noisy thunderstorms that bring with them lots and lots of what what I consider one of the most beautiful natural phenomenon. I also grew up in the lightning capitol of the US (and I think the world come to think of it) and it has always been something of an amazement to me. That+dragons=win.

I don't dislike anything with an epic personality and winning design :D

Tainted Breeds:

Toxic: Honestly hadn't even thought about these babies until Augari, but she is so fuckawseome that I just can't even describe it x.x Black dragons with glowy, colored pustules? Ravedragons ftw. And the fact that she has a cobra hood…I think I probably melted with glee when I saw her for the first time. <3 cobras.
Ruin: Holy crap I love the concept of these guys. I remember rejoining and reading through the descriptions and just…drooling over the depth in their descriptions. I like these for the same reason I love the crystals. The fact that their magic is so subtle yet destructive is just a really nice touch.
Bone: Yeah they're all more or less the same in terms of their general abilities and stuff, but a non-undead dragon that looks like a skeleton? Epic. Sure they might not have any particularly good ranged attacks, but in melee combat they seem to be quite beastly with their natural armor. Plus I just think they are cool ._.
Razor: Before the first Tainted hatching here, I remember drooling over Viscer's egg (since even at that point no one knew there was a Toxic egg) as well as Yuurei's. Razors I love because they are swift, needle-y, blade-y death. Also the fact that weapons can be made from their shed scales is pretty sweet.

I can make anything work. Staffers have never gone the wrong way with the babies they've made me and I don't think anyone could throw one at me that I didn't like. When they fit my characters, I love them hook line and sinker. Obviously I have my favorites though :P

Sekkai Dragons

  • Air My first love because everything about them drew me in. I've always had a love for avian creatures, feathered dragons being no different. It was when decided to join the side and making a decision between which available breeds to make for my first character that the, after reading the description, the Air had won hands down. And while I didn't want to just take a bird and morph it's colors into a dragon, I instead picked aspects of several breeds that I liked and formed my very own Zeal's skeleton and added my own preference for a color scheme. Bias? Yes, but I've always loved nothing so much as daydreaming in the windy countryside of what it must be like to have wings and freedom of flight.

  • Fire Everybody loves the classics! The true blue western style dragon will always have a special place in my heart in any form.

  • Sonic Because the manipulation of sound and the concept of sonic booms have always had my intrigue. That and these dragons tend to be so eye catching.

  • Rosemary Ringelblume's flounce and Iridae's tragic yet vicious nature pretty much sells me for these guys. Healers are cool too.

  • Crystal/Glass My very favorite part of geology was the mineral section. Learning all the gems and how they are created and all their variable hard/softness. So much wonderful information to make such a unique breed of dragon. And since glass is really just melted and reconstructed quartz, unstable though it is, gets to fall into the category of high opinion as well.

  • Chaos One breed that I originally skimmed over and cared for naught, but as time has passed, these gnarled gambits of randomization are rather nifty little buggers. I could only imagine the amusement of playing one and deciding their IC actions/effects by dusting off my old D&D dice and rolling for actions/effectiveness. Certainly excellent breed for chaotic and dynamic writing.

  • Ice Another breed that's grown on me over the course of time. At first I never cared for the frosty darlings by virtue of fairly monotone design ranges. But ever since Nherva's revamp of Metis' design into something wonderfully dynamic while still within the standards of Ices and Zhen's gorgeous creation at the hands of Balu, I've found these guys can be quite special. Coupled with my favorite animals tend to carry arctic attributes (snow leopards, arctic wolves, ect.) these guys have gotten a bump on my intrigue list.
Runners Up

  • Lightning/Gravity Both of these breeds have grown on my since my initial ambivalence towards them. I've started to appreciate the finer, subtle power of Gravity's manipulation when at first I found it flat and uninspiring, when clearly, that is not the case at all. Lightnings likewise felt one-note when I first joined, but pushing myself to design Lacuna for Nherva gave me a finer appreciation for them and potential for varied concepts therein.
Tainted Breeds

  • Razor Guill certainly has stolen my heart (and possibly skewered it in the process). These sharp little gnats of the tainted legion are fantastic from ever last quill or edge to their forms. I enjoy the style that they provide as a very in-your-face melee unit with the speed to keep their small forms out of danger (most of the time).

  • Ruin Perhaps it is because I have Drest, my mysterious dream-Ruin frolicking about in my head, but these wonderful creations of Kess' are innovative as they are striking in appearance. A skill that's subtle and corrosive just defines playing a dark character. Vibrant gases and sweet tooth addictions a plus.
Runners Up

  • Toxic Slinky, oily black beasts of serpentine grace and caustic acidity. There's really no way to go wrong with these glowstick dragons and Augari will forever have me as a fangirl since the first time I discovered her hatching scene.

Still-not-convinced-they're-my-cup-of-tea

  • Earth Flightless dragons throw me for a loop that I'm not too sure how to feel about. The right Earth with a smashing personality I'm sure I'd love, but earth manipulation as an element has never really appealed much for me. I dooooooo love Maahes the Earth Qhek hovering in my files though. So hard call on which box to put Earths in, but for now, I'm still on the other side of the fence and unconvinced of them.

  • Abyssal Again flightless and not a fan of uniform white maggot wyrm. Cera is an exception, but there's no way I could master her sass and prowess as Busey can, and I wouldn't want to try to compete with that. It'd be a losing battle. Heuli was bamf though, can't deny that.

  • Mycotic Just not a fan of any phase sadly. D: Fungus just has never had much appeal for me, I'd rather avoid it like the plague. I won't even eat yogurt. Myx was the closest exception I could think of on the I-kinda-am-okay-with-this scale. Maybe I just haven't found that acquired taste.

  • Influenza/Bulkhead Influenza, scumbag darlings they may be, I fear I wouldn't do one justice with my mere limited knowledge of medical disease. Bulkheads have always simply struck me as a erring on the godmodding side of the table, but that's not the big reason these are both sketchily on this list. The big thing that limits my vision with these guys is the limited range for design originality, or so by the more detailed and direct breed descriptions/PC characters would lead one to believe. Vesu though is pretty awesome, with that shiny mirror white hide of hers and slender build. There may be hope yet.

Sekkai Dragons--

Ice~ Comparable to a polar bear I burrow right into any snow heaps and make myself at home x3 I love the cold so much it's no wonder to me that I find Ice dragons so attractive. They could summon up a nice blizzard, cool down a hot summer day, scale mountian Everst with their pick-axe claws, all sorts of jolly fun stuffs! I could see the Penguin dragon I drew fitting right in as an big o' kinda-cuddly Ice x3

Earth~ Next slot I am seriously making one. Seriously. He will be a living Gargoyle, with snarly-anger face and land-slide paws, and saber-teef, and spires and arches errewhere, oh my.. I could go on for a while. But! I really love Earths, big hulking titans that would smish whole towns flat like a casual jaunt about that park.

Gravity~ Space? On a dragon? YES. The color possiblities and complexities are endless. Cute lil' whiskahs and sharp cat eyes, with slinkyslink grace, as have to appreciate them becuase they remind me of my cats xD I imagine a hulking meatslab of a Gravity that uses raw power along to throw himself about like an asteroid and orbits his rider while he sleeps.

However I find that the loose intpretations of the species information generates stunning dragons no matter the elements/rarity. Every character is so unique amoung their breed <3 I've always been a bit hesitant about bending the structures of my dragums, but I've started expanding their structures and individualizing them each in turn. I will settle on their final forms.. someday xD

Taints--

Bones~ Regardless of breed, strength, wit, any dragon can be turned into a Bone, so you get such a wide diversity of characters from all different backgrounds. S'awesome! Losing their old elemental control must be sorrowful, but when they gain the power to just use their own bodies as weapons, that must be amazing xD

I also tend to like seeing the natural Sekkian dragons breeds turn Tainted, becuase of the deviations you get from the breed standards with the mutations, poisions and whatnot. Verreh interestinks >3

ffff there are so many breeeds I could write something I like about ALL of them ;n; but I shall try to select just a few of my personal favorites XD

Sekkian

  • Waters: I've always, ALWAYS liked waters, ever since I first joined Sekkai! Maybe its just because I like water so much in general, but I find it funny so much of me has something to do with water, from my Chinese and Western Zodiac sign to my name. I've loved the idea of being able to manipulate water and also love the idea of a long wormy dragon, even if they aren't as big and wormy as Celestials. Plus, i like being able to design waters after fishies! There are so many diverse water creatures out there you could have a water as generic as Tempyst or as out there and unique as Mire and Outre.

  • Forests: The spit acid. Nuff said. haha, but really, I love them, small yet not to small (in comparison to other dragons, not to humans XD ) with the BA ability to mess with plants and to spit acid/venom etc. Basing them on plants is pretty fun as well, but even the simple form is cool!

  • Chaos: I've always wanted one. Always. They can be deadly looking, fearsome with powers that make them all the more terrifying! Having Kreen works too, being a disruption and all that cool stuff B ). Glowy ruins make me squee inside as well.

  • Karmas: I love the design(s), although there are so many out there right now. Them being the opposites of Celestials (yet still good <3) and the color of silver with highlights... its almost like my color affection with Chaos' <3 one generally solid color with another sub-color. Plus~ The ability to heal turned Tainted and spew forth burning hot steam makes them some awesome BAMF >;D

Sekkai Runners up: Rosemary, Lightning, Sonic, Glass.

I HAVE NO DISLIKES. I LOVE EM ALLL ;;

Tainted

  • Disruptions: BETCH PLEASE. Besides Bulkheads, Disruptions are deadly, flying tanks. They can warp space and time, although more if older, and are huge, black, spiky, scary behemoths. They seem near invincible, but as always, they are not |D but fffff heavy armor, giant, dual pair of wings, echolocation on steroids, they scream DEAAAATH

  • Bones: As I did start of the breed with Denkou, I do love them very much. There is so much diversity in the breed, and their ability to manipulate their own body is much to be rivaled. They maintain many characteristics of their previous life, minus the elemental ability, and have amazing abilities to turn their innards into projectiles and manipulate their body shape to a minimal degree <3

Runners up: Razors, Toxics, Ruins and Bulkheads <33333

AGAIN I HAVE NO DISLIKES fahahah <3

Loves characters who write themselves
Sekkian Breeds:

  • Sonic - Being a person who loves music how could I not love sonic dragons? I love how their powers are based off of sound and how they can be as noisy or as silent as they want. They could be the perfect spies or the worst nuisance you've ever seen.

  • Lightning - Just the thought of a dragon with electrical powers makes me happy. Shooting people with blasts of lightning and possibly electrocuting them is exciting! Plus I love their colors with their golds, blues, and lavenders. And now that I have Bucha I love them even more! *zap zap*

  • Glass - As with almost everyone else I love Glass dragons. The fact that you can make them pretty much anything you want. They are beautiful and elegant and the fact that they inspire you is an awesome side effect. And I also think that glassmaking is awesome.

  • Fire - I love Fire dragons mainly because they're the ones that immediately pop into my head when I think dragon. I love how our's are so unique! Also I have a thing for bigger dragons and I guess I also love Fires because I was born in Summer.
Tainted Breeds:

  • Razor - I don't know why it took me this long to add them honestly. Razors are amazing! I love their abilities and how utterly deadly they can be. I also might be a little fond of their shininess >u>
Least Favorite:

  • Air - I'll admit, I made an Air once and things didn't work out so well. It's not that I dislike them as a breed, it's just that they are rather difficult for me to play and I'd rather avoid that experience again.

  • Rosemary - Like Airs, I have nothing against them as a breed, they are very beautiful and we have some very awesome Rosemaries here, I just don't want to play one.

  • Influenza - I am not a really medically inclined person and I don't have a wealth of knowledge when it comes to diseases. Also they are a bit too skinny and thin for my liking. I prefer my dragons to be at least somewhat filed out.

  • Bulkhead - Yes, these have been downgraded to my least favorite list. I initially liked them because of their size and their abilities. In truth, this has become my reason for disliking them. I mean, I like my dragons big, but not that big. I have lost any interest in playing one.

  • Rosemary – When I first stalked around on Old Sekkai, I originally wasn't too keen on the idea of ever having a Rosemary. They were comparably tiny, not big on the rough and tumble war smackdown scene, and kinda prone to being crushed upon the battlefield. Even when I joined the new site, I still wasn't quite warmed up to the idea of designing one. Dove gave me a bit of inspiration and...well, they've become one of my favorite breeds. You don't have to be huge and powerful to be great. I'm also a healer-type IRL and their powers really tickle my fancy. If you couldn't tell.

Lightning – When most people think that they might have a preferred 'element' associated with them, I think Lightning. Water is soothing, earth is stable, and fire is chaos, but I've always enjoyed lightning the most. It's powerful, it's beautiful, and it's desctructive. I love using the vocabulary associated with these dragons and their attacks. It makes my heart siiiiiiing.

    Glass – Glasses are tied with Influenzas/Rosemaries and Razors as my favorite breeds overall. While I really do prefer personalities over appearances when it comes to role-playing characters, this breed has shown time and time again just how creative people can get and really stretch those boundaries that Sekkai has to offer. Their craft is gorgeous and their innate ability to inspire really hits home for me. Gloire is my little brainchild and I'm so incredibly happy to be able to play him. ;n;

Celestials - I fucking love these noodles. They're great, silly beasts of sunlight. I love solar energy and having the ability to play with it as I've had the privilege to has been nothing short of great fun. Due to how rare they are and their tendency to die when their owners leave without warning they really haven't gotten the chance to be fully explored and experimented with in battle. I love Lumi. ;v; He is my great big fatty baby and I adore him lots.
Runner-ups: Ice, Chaos, Metal, FIYAH

Tainted
  • Razor – They're whip-quick little bundles of greased lightning and I love these little shits. I love that they're smaller and built for close-combat. But, I'm pretty biased in this area with receiving Visc early in my stay at Sekkai.

Ruin – The very first time I read their profile I completely fell in love with this breed. Kess is a brilliant scientist to have come up with these devious little creeps. Their customizable, solidifying masks and corrosive abilities make them extremely unique in the RP-world.

Influenza – Influenzas are lovely, nasty pieces of work. They’re the tainted variant of my most favorite breed and they specialize in the same sort of field that I want to go into IRL. Pathology and infectious diseases are my passions, man. Though Influs are grotesque mofos,
Runner-up: Boens

I'm really more of the mindset that a personality makes the dragon, and even if I'm not overly fond of the breed I'd be happy to play a good character. Nim made me love Waters with Fuath and I'm so happy with him. ;o;

I'm also happy to play more than one dragon of the same breed. *u* I do not caaaaare as long as they've got pretty different personalities.

HNNNNG I LOVE STUFF LIKE THIS 8D

SEKKAIANS

  • Glass - It's not often you see a dragon with so much creative freedom and a truly unique ability such as Glass dragons. Whoever came up with them, I salute you. The designs you all have come up with for Glass dragons, from Dichroic to Nu'kua to Celi and Gloire make me freaking green with envy <3 I almost want more on the site just so I can see what you people would whip up with such freedom! Glass is a beautiful substance, and Glass dragons are practically art in themselves. Trivia; Before I threw Kisana at dires, in my mind, she rode a monstrous and beautifully terrifying Glass named Anima. I had his profile written up at the time of the Taint Breed Contest just in case I came through x3
  • Gravity - C'mon, gravity powers are just cool. They're not something you see every day, and they're all hella awesome. Back on old Sekkai, I had a one-eyed Gravity Shadowguarde who never got finished, and recently I modified her to change her name as a potential contest prize. If the gods of posting should ever allow me to get up to absurd post counts (or if I win a contest ever), I might consider bringing her in. She was a cool kid, that Reikon. OhandIloveTachybytheway >>
  • Chaos - So, most of you guys know that I am a sucker for anything that glows. Blue on black, red on black, and green on black are my personal favorites, but just about anything that Chaoses can throw out is awesome. Runes rule, and they make for quite a lot of unique customization that I love. Also, the originality of the breed is so awesome, and it really makes me proud to own one. I honestly never thought I would come to have my dear Disarrya, who has grown in her own way
  • Ice - It's funny how the one pair that I adopted has grown to be one of the most special pairs to me. I don't tend to like light-colored dragons and I certainly hate the cold, but something about ice is fascinating. I'm a water person, so I don't think I could hate ice itself. It's beautiful, and so is Lithia. I love how sleek Ices are, proportional and graceful and such. Plus, hand-tail is EPICCCC.
  • Water - You should all be surprised that I really didn't take to Waters at all in the past. For some reason, I don't like the popular representation of Water dragons as long and thin. And that's why Mire really hit home for me. Just like how all fish aren't bright and showy, not all Waters should be tropical blue with bright fins everywhere, in my opinion (though those are pretty too!). Mire is everything a Water isn't supposed to be - hulking, muscular, physically intimidating, and not long-bodied. Plus, he's not blue, and I have a soft spot for brown dragons. Charybdis is the shiz too.

There aren't any breeds I don't like. But as a general rule, I tend to lean towards the less conventional, which generally means rarer breeds. Especially true for old Sekkai, I always thought that there wasn't a lot of freedom or originality in the more common breeds. But now that dragons are getting to be so much more creative with all the epic minds on this Sekkai, I'm beginning to appreciate a lot of the breeds I took for granted. A good example is Airs - I'd always thought them to be very simple, and I don't tend to like light, solid-colored dragons much. But now that we have HAWT creatures designed so beautifully, I'm warming up to them. And I miss Lucht. Cuz he was weird <3 Fires also never really tickled my fancy until Proxy blew my mind, and I always relatively ignored Forests until Adi. And I will always have a special place in my heart for Earths, because of my lovely first-ever Sekkaian dragon Gley <3

TAINTS

Ruin - Kess is a genius. As someone who's just completed AP Chemistry and finally knows the EPIC SCIENCE behind these, I feel like I can appreciate their deadly beauty fully. Masks rule, as do freaking gas trails! And Yuurei is a friggin badass, and I'm honestly really proud to help develop the breed further with Yuuman.
Toxic - Again with the glowy things. I think enough is said.
Bulkhead - I like things that stray from the norm. So when you tack on extra legs, eyes everywhere, and weird mouths, I am in ALL THE WAYYY. You can probably see my preferences way back when I spawned the Shifters for the Taint Breed Contest, as they had most of these attributes in a less in your face package. :3 But I'd seriously kill for a Bulkhead. I'd kill for ANY of these breeds.
Abyssal - THE WEIRDER THE BETTER, YEAH. I am in love with all those weird things from the darkest depths of the ocean, so Abyssals with their wicked teef and mouths and eyes and ... they're beautiful to me because they're so perfectly at home with the other monstrosities of the deep. The gender thing is an interesting touch too.

DON'T FORGET EARTH MYCOTICS <3 Corrioth is probably one of my most dear RP characters in the history of my loooooooooong RP career, and I mean that. Thank you admins so much for him, even though it was a long time ago. If I get to make Lucretia in time for the next Taintly hatching, I'll be super excited :3 If not, I still can't wait to see the monstrosities of this time!

Well I don't actually have a dragon yet but I can still do this right? /D

Sekkian

rosemary they are so leetle and cute~ Once again the idea of feathered dragons pops up and I embrace it whole-heartedly. But not only that they are modeled after flowers which leaves room for tons of interpretations and designs. and I must agree with Tox on this, you can make them look like thrown up rainbows mashed with a rave and it's a-ok

chaosssss bkjgb, jlsnihilrz I don't even know what to say, I LOVE them. From the fact they can't produce their own breed to their spirally horns. I would probably die if a candie ever received one /D

Tainted

disruption I really first got into liking them after reading that not only do they not have eyes, they get frustrated and angry when things 'don't go as they should'. Even though they're a Tainted breed I can't help but think they the most adorable thing I've ever seen XD

Ruin when I heard they slowly turn to vapor I could help but be like 'Lololol fog dragon'. Aside from that I think they are amazing and can totally imagine them once they've reached that stage.

I like them all ._.; but those are my favorites.

Aaaand perfect dragon? Hmmm Maybe a female disruption (though male would be cool too) hued with deep orange/red with a blue/silver for her flecking with twisted but sharp horns around her face and has some teeth that protrude from beneath her lips. Her tail would have the three trident like prongs but they curl down like fingers (easier for digging it into the ground)

Bad description but I'm having a hard time describing what I see in my mind XD

Sekkai Breeds (Updated 1/10/14)

Lightning- THE SOUND AND THE FURY. Okay no, not really. But oh my god storm dragons. Yeah...I'm...kinda of developing a love for these guys. Or maybe it's just an undisclosed desire to own 'all the breeds'. I'm not really sure. But yes. Lightning. Yes. I am very much a fan of whip-chord stormchasing lightning bolt throwing zeuslings.

Air- I love Airs. I think I love them even more now that the site has sort of changed from them being more greys, whites, purples, and faint blues to having them based off of actual birds. Even if that wasn't originally the basic idea in the first place. The original colors make sense, but actual bird bases make it even more. I think the thing that makes an Air dragon for me, is just the over all feathered appearance and sleek design. They're kind of like the sports cars of the dragon world and though they're small, they're fast and can maneuver quite well with their double pairs of wings. I think the other thing that makes it for me is that I own one, but more than that, the personality of said Air. Valigar in accompaniment to dragons like Zeal or Narcissa just display yet again, a cliche sort of idea of how Airs are. They seem very much like the vain strutting peacocks that some of them kind of present image-wise. Plus with their egos, they very much like to butt heads, and arguments are fun to type o3o;

Metal- Metals are like three breeds rolled into one. The problem with this note that I love Metals, is that I'd then have to choose a sub-breed. Which is really hard. I suppose if I had to put them in an order, I'd put it something like...Uhmm.... Steel, Iron, Copper. From most liked to least liked. The dragons themselves are all different sizes and different shapes and I find it really cool that the creators of the breed decided to incorporate that each affiliation with each breed would have a different look about them not just in color but in bone structure too. The giant tail blade on them was also a really cool touch. The fact that they can breathe their own metal affiliate too in liquid form is pretty awesome, and I'm still not quite sure how they can do that without it being molten hot, though I suppose that's just magic for you. They're just some really cool dudes, and I want to see more around the site <3

Forest- In accompaniment to the Rosemary breed, they're one of the smallest dragons on Sekkai, but they still maintain the ability of hauling their rider around. I suppose it's the mixture of the toxicity and acid element that is incorporated into them in two different ways that helps me find them quite intriguing. Not all of them (like Hadassah I believe) have the Toxic barbs, but they can all still spit acid at you like an angry cobra. They're the most common, yet lately I've been seeing so many different forms and varieties and adaptations of their forms that you can't help but wonder just HOW creative you can be with a forest. Compare Psamanthe to Hadassah, or Vaezin to Hemlock for example. They're common, but they're all over the place apperance-wise!

Tainted Breeds (Updated 1/10/14)

Ruin- I ammmmmm retardedly biased. I love Iktomi. Love him to freaking death. Him and Lapin both. The masks are a fascination and I often wish that I had gone through and made Iktomi's mask a little more creative. But I was trying to associate with his name and the Spider god thing and...well...anyway. They're difficult breeds in the sense that their basic weapon is rusting gases and their own claws (and sometimes masks), but they're cool in the fact that that means you have to get CREATIVE! There's more to them than just rust, as Kess can tell you, but it's a breed that takes more personality and appearance to make it work than JUST their abilities. But they're like Glass' just a bit. A lot of free range on their masks to make them your own!

Bulkhead- The problems with Bulkheads are also their powers. It's that they're so easily overpowered and can easily troll someone into a god-modded situation where it makes it hard to do anything that's not going to screw with someone wholly. I suppose what I find intriguing about them is the balance that a writer would have to maintain, and the restrictions and conscious thought you'd have to put into it in order to make sure you aren't screwing the other person over. So it's more of a writer fascination than it is the actual breed itself. So you've got a volcanic titan, now what are you going to do to make it interesting?

Bone- Super common, and yet...They're really kind of cool. They can look like almost any breed due to the fact that all breeds can mutate into them. Plus there's the fact that they might just end up looking like no breed at all! They're chalky, white, and pale, so there's really no appeal color-wise to them at all. But the real appeal lies in the appearance still. As bones are capable of looking like anything and growing their armor into any shape imaginable, they're similar to the Ruin in the fact that with their mutations comes some artistic and creative freedoms (but more within reason here). They're a little more restricted on the breath weapon thing, like a Gravity might be, but they can do things like fire bone needles and still be pretty dangerous if they're played correctly.

Razor I love metals, therefore I love Razors. These little shits are just a pile of pincushiony, needle-filled fun. I suppose I also like the matter of when faced with a rider there's always the predicament of 'how do I even sit on you'. I blame Viscer. Yeah...that's a good way of doing it. This is Viscer's fault. HEAR THAT SEMPER? YOUR FAULT.

Dragons I feaaaaar (Updated 1/10/14)

Mycotic- Don't get me wrong, I like some of the designs we've had for the Mycotic breed, and I like them overall, it's just...I guess I don't really get the powers? So they don't really appeal to me :<

Abyssal- Okay this isn't so much a fear as it is a brief disdain. I don't hate dragons, but there are a few that I will look at and go '...' and the Abyssals happen to be one of these breeds. I guess I was never much of a fan of maggoty type things, and I know they don't all look like that. Mostly I guess I don't like them for aesthetic reason, but they can be whallops of personality, such as Heulikreuc or Ceratias due to how their users perceive them and have them interact with the world around them. So this is feared for purely selfish appearance based reasons. I am a bad person.

Water - Because I love love love water in it's many forms and such, despite my typical interweb moniker of Ember (which is actually an OC of mine but that's beside the point). And water dragons have always been a favorite of mine, giant watery beasts that are just beautious in their slimyness.

Air - Because I adore slinky things. xD And perhaps like Val, I may have a preference for the larger breeds. Plus, I just want to pet this breed's feathers. xD

Sonic - I love music, so of course I must be juuust a little biased towards these wondrous beasts that make sounds as they fly.

Celestial - They're so loooong. Amg. ; ; I bet they're so pretty too. o.o

Chaos - The entire random aspect of this makes me love it.

Tainted

Abyssal - They make me think of Anglerfeesh, and Anglerfeesh are creepy cool. o.o

Bulkhead - Extra limbs for the win. o.o Plus, they're big and bulky. xDD

Razor - It's a porcupine draggum! Lawl. I adore spiky spiky dragons, and if it's a mutated one then it's long too. :3

Yeah, short reasons I know. >>;

Least Favorites

Noot very many. I love most of the breeds, the above are just my favorites. And... I can potentially love any of the breeds. xD

Sekkain

Earth - I just... don't like them very much. D:

Tainted

Disruption - The no eyes, it be freaky. The ability is awesome, but the no eyes kind of makes me shudder (strange though, I kinda like rping blind characters). Really though, all it would take is an interesting design to make me like these. And the wings. o.o I like the wings. >>

Mycotic - Same deal as Earth dragons. >> I just don't like them much. D:

As for the perfect dragon for me?

... Is probably impossible. D: I have this mental image of a Razor with longer horns like a Disruption's among all those quills. >>;

Well, at least from breeds that are here. I have another idea that's not from any dragons here. >>
