Character Number- 2nd! Name- Ophelya Sarita [Sa'ri'ta] Age- 25 [Updated 01/07/20114 - 4th Fractures B'day update] Gender- Female Sexuality- Whatever strikes her fancy Appearance- She has shoulders while short are sharp in appearance; her collar bone in particular almost seems to jut out of the pectoral muscles that should be holding it in place. Her spine also does the same through the upper – thoracic region of her back; and the lower two of her ribs (on both sides) tend to shift in and out of sight when she moves – provided she isn’t wearing a top. Along with this she has rather thin limbs, her arms in particular; leaving her wrists to look flimsy and easily breakable. Attached to these are slender hands with long fingers; which would look delicate in the right light or action… although she is more likely to use them to steal as her fine fingers slip easily in and out of people’s pockets, among other places. As a general rule she has a weakness for the really sparkly; or shiny stuff, and is generally a thief of chance. Although she is willing to try and flit at the best of times to get what she wants – or what she thinks she needs. Over her green eyes Ophelya is lucky enough to have thick long eyelashes to help with her ability or so called desire to flirt with her would be victims. Almost hiding her darker toned – almost wine coloured lips; is a tangle of dead straight hair that curls at the ends ever so slightly. It is a deep brunette in shade, but with a generous dusting of copper that it could appear to be either depending on the light. It reaches down to about half way between her shoulders and her elbows and is always neatly trimmed. Amongst it she has an unofficial fringe, or at least one that is growing out; unfortunately it’s only just long enough to tuck behind her ears at the moment and keeps getting in the way whenever a breeze comes along. One of the most noticeable things about Ophelya is her extravagant tastes; and nearly every possible occasion she is wearing a dress; and only the best of the best will do, generally floor length. Sadly though; dresses don’t make the best day to day ware. In those cases she wears a simple top; often white with a low cut ‘V’ Shaped neck line that shows more flesh than most would be comfortable with. Such a top is occasionally held together over her chest with a gold or silver chain; although it’s in the fashion of loosely stitched lace, more of an ornament than anything else. To match her so called simple tops Ophelya is often seen in pants that are close to either jeans or riding jodhpurs in nature. Although that is hardly all there is too it… most of the time there is ornate embroidery running up the sides of them, often up over the hips and buttocks. Even with these so-called dressed down options in the way of clothing Ophelya is never without jewellery or trinkets. Most of these items are of unmatchable quality; and most if not all of them are STOLEN, proof of the young lady’s notorious sticky fingers. Personality- Ambitious is perhaps the nicest word to explain Ophelya; and cunning comes in close second as these two things seem to show exactly what this young woman is made out of. She is dishonest at the best of times as she is a thief by heart… which is where both her ambition and cunning comes in. What she sees she wants, and what she wants she takes by any means possible. Despite her strong ambitious streak though the woman is more a thief of opportunity than the pillaging and plunging sort; her crimes usually occur when people are not paying attention; and without hurting them. A thief and somewhat proud of it Ophelya is not a killer; although if she is cornered she will act out of her usual character and willing harm people. A favourite move is to run a dagger though something vital enough to keep a person off their feet for a few months; less chance of them catching up with her again. As a general rule she is self-serving in her crimes; and prefers material wealth, the more coin spent on something the more she wants it. Pervious metals or stones and thus crystals are a particular weakness of hers. When it comes to getting her hands on such trinkets she can be rather cunning, taking advantage of any situation… it wouldn’t be beyond her to pilfer a dead body. Ophelya is also easily jealous of people (in particular their wealth) and greedy (if that wasn’t already obvious). She likes to size her would be victims up and will play most proverbial cards to get her hands on something shiny at the very end; she will even go as far to sleep with people, of either gender. At times she acts like a lady and a snob, and other times like a drawling street simpleton; it is this flexibility in her personally that makes her hard to pin down… in this she lives up to her name… being like a snake and shedding skins (or personalities) one after each other. This in itself makes something of a problem… especially when she gets so full of herself that she tries working on two more marks at once… nothing unseats her plans faster than getting caught in a room with several people she has swindled, or attempted to. Word seems to get around faster than she does and over the years she is slowly learning that she has to be more careful when trying for multiple prizes although she has not been deterred from the endeavour… she’s far too impatient for that; the more trinkets the more quickly the better. Ophelya is calculating and manipulative at the best of times; and there isn’t much that is going to change that. She wants what she can’t have, and if she gets it then her goals are set even higher with her next conquest to be. Sometimes she likes nothing more than a challenge, and often getting caught is not an option. Rank- Candidate (Multi-purpose; I don’t mind where she ends up )History- Hellman’s Well: (0 - 13 years) Pet(s) None; unless you count her stolen jewellery and trinkets The Dragon Name- Id Age- 2 [Updated 01/07/20114 - 4th Fractures B'day update] Hatchdate- April 2, 2013 Gender- Androgynous, although Id might take on a Female gendered tone. Element- Dream Parents- Unknown img to go here art list Appearance- Id is quite simply an anomaly; well as far as dragons go, as far as breed standards? Well, that’s a different story. Id is; and if you were to ask the dragon about it, mere existence is all that should matter. Dream is the term given to the breed of dragon which Id is said to hail from, although there is no real considered standard for Dreams as Id is believed to be only the second Dream dragon on current record. When someone says dragon, Id’s form is one of the last thought about; some might even say it is impractical and pathetic. Long and low to the ground best describes the Dream, provided the dragon is straight at the time. At maturity Id measures 7 feet at the shoulder and reaches 139 feet in length. Some might call such measurements skewed for any dragon they leave Id looking more like an exotic eel than some traditional mythic figure. It is in this length that all the so called anatomy of a dragon is found; Id’s edges though tend to be much rounded, as if someone had taken care to sand off all the sharp edges that could be dangerous to a child’s health. More than that, Id is a little cubby, well-padded almost. Even so this padding or puppy fat isn’t overpowering in its presence and given that the Dream spends a lot of time in loops, coils or knots there is no question as to Id’s dexterity. Although this being said there is a particular fattiness to the end of Id’s tail that the dragon occasionally enjoys chewing or suckling on. Perhaps one normal trait that Id shares with other Dreams is that fact that the dragon has multiples of some things. Most notably is the fact that unlike most dragons who only have four legs Id has double that (currently), a total of eight, two sets of fore legs and two hind. These limbs are short and squat, holding Id close to the ground; each only bearing enough weight to keep the Dream from dragging in the dirt. All of these limbs are pentadactyl in nature, but the fingers seem almost dwarfed by their tips which are rounded and pudgy. These tips are easily spayed over any surface and the underside has an extreme texturing to it that equates to being sticky; allowing Id to climb most surfaces in a manner akin to a gecko. It is in this ability to climb and contort into any place or shape that some believe might be why Id seems to lack any form of armour. Unlike most dragons of a Tainted nature Id has no thick covering of scales; rather the scales that cover the Dream are soft, velvety to the touch almost. While there is some give in the surface of these scales they act more like flesh or skin, bruising rather than protecting the dragon contained therein. Wings are another area where the Dream is noted to have a vast difference to those seen on more common dragons; a great many supporting leather or feather based wings. Id’s wings are seemingly much more fragile as they are insect like in shape, and in nature. Translucent, elongated ovals jut out from behind the Dream’s first set of shoulders; a total of four, or what could be considered two sets make up Id’s flight surface. The forward most set are the larger towering out at around a fourth of the Dream’s length (35 feet) but only budge to a width 2-3 feet about two thirds of the way up wing before tapering back in to the points furthest away from the body. As for the second pair, they sit behind the first, overlapping slightly so that like a bi-winged insect they might as well be a part of the first pair; but the separation is needed in order to beat at the high frequency rates required to keep Id airborne. Identical to the forward wings in shape the latter pair is considerably smaller; in fact they are less than half the size reaching a length of around 16 feet each; and a width of a foot or less. Id has a muzzle that is broad and flat, so much so that the dragon has very little tapering from jawline to nose tip. If viewed from above one might point out that width of the Dream’s nose is just over a third of the back of Id’s head. In fact board is the best way to describe Id’s whole head, it resembles the almost spade structure of a snake’s head and runs straight back into the dragon’s neck with no adornment. Set into this relatively shallow head is a large jawline that takes up nearly the whole length of the dragon’s skull. Given its length and broad nature this mouth can open to impressive sizes and is even speculated to have an unhinging ability if something should be too big to consume by conventional methods. Inside are small teeth that are cone shaped, and even though their points face upwards they are rounded enough to almost look spherical on top. This rounding is a significant deception though, as each tooth is backed with cruel serrations to ensure that the Dream is more than capable of rending flesh if the occasion calls for it. Id’s mouth also plays host to a tongue of a spade like shape. As far as features go Id’s possession of a mouth isn’t all that strange, in fact it’s a necessity of any creature; perhaps the truest oddity to Id’s head is the possession of a second jaw. Both its placement and size make this second mouth hard to distinguish from the Dream’s general shape. For those who know where to look the second mouth sits on, and concerned by what would be the bridge of the board dragon’s head; and like the larger it also contains teeth and a tongue, thus being fully functional. Despite this though Id does not use the smaller mouth in order to eat, or speck. The sole function or at least the only reason the Dream uses the upper mouth is to replicate thousands of known sounds; this is due to the fact that outside of its appearance this jaw is far more sophisticated in composition. Jaws are not the only feature on of the Dream’s head that exist in duality; Id has two pairs of eyes, both of which are liquid black in appearance. Those considered to be the primary set are rapidly recognisable as they are bulbous in nature while sitting either side of the dragon’s head, following the line of the main jaw. Out of the two pairs they are set lower and wider in the reaches of the broad skull, their compound structure enabling a field of vision that could be close to all encompassing. Due to this large amount of optical feedback these larger eyes provide Id with most details of various surroundings, but they lack the ability to focus, especially directly in front of the Dream; which is where the second set of eyes comes in. Much like the second jaw these eyes sit further up the skull, in fact a little further up the bridge of the Dream’s nose, apparently taking ownership of the smaller mouth. Significantly smaller and mostly dismissed at a glance these liquid black eyes are drawn closer together and give Id overwhelming clarity of the world directly in front of them. One knows they truly have the Dream’s attention if Id has these harder to distinguish eyes looking directly at someone/something; whereas the attention span of the larger pair appears to be incremental at best. Either side of Id’s board poll plays host to the Dream’s only weapon; twin horns sweep backwards from this point. Similar to a ram’s they pull back to a rounded apex before folding on themselves, but this is where the similarity ends. Instead of continuing to coil around on themselves in a spiral they grow forwards and down, curving slightly in towards the Dream’s prime jaw and then away in an almost indistinguishable arch; resembling something of a still wave (~). Unimpressive as a weapon for a dragon these horns have slight budding on the lower half, pointing away from Id’s jaw. It might seem insignificant, but these tiny rounded bumps hide much potential and while they grow slowly they seek to add wicked branches to the simple horns. A future means by which Id can fight and defend. Colour wise; Id is plain, dull almost as the colours that decorate the Dream’s hide-scales are generally de-saturated at best. The light play on grey tones a great hiding mechanism, but they offer little else terms of being impressive. For the most part Id is twin-hued, the majority of the Dream’s body existing in a purple-violet-grey colour that covers the entirety of head, legs, back and tail tip. The other tone, which exists as little more than a belly marking is a slightly grey-earth-cream that starts with the extension of the Dream’s neck from under the lower, larger jaw. Running along most of the Dream’s length this paler colour bleeds into the overtone of purple in various speckles and gradients, making it hard for most people to call it a perfect or even merge on close examination; from a distance though the switch between the two colours seems to happen flawlessly. Cream also dusts the underside of Id’s various feet, highlighting the sticky toe pads. The colour that takes to the Dream’s wings is almost a lack of colour, the insect structures are mostly transparent, only the slightest translucently dusts them, making the veins and would be scales stand out where the overlap; in most lights this appears to be white, boarding on blue with the occasional purple hue reflected from the dragon’s body. Both horns and eyes play host to Id’s final colour which is also a kind of colourless, sleek black covers the Dream’s horns and liquid black eyes stare out of the board skull. Even so, there is life to these grey-tones; Id’s entire body, horns and eyes excluded has another layer to it. Another colour almost; as transparent as air though this so called finally colouring only turns up based on movement or light; a sheen. The Dream’s body shifts in colour as much as weight as the sheen on scales is a strong iridescence. Which in turn makes each colour appear more than it is; while Id’s scales might be dusky purple and earthly cream the shine on them incorporates the entire spectrum over the top making Id’s dull colours shimmer with life. More spectacularly they bring a unity across the Dream, bringing Id’s colours in to match one of the dragon’s most striking features. Id’s body is host to a number of Orbs, which for the most part appear to come in pairs, one on each side of the Dream’s body, following what would be the midline mark along the 139 foot length. Sitting above the division between purple and cream these Orbs are almost uniform in size for the most part, but several are smaller and large based on their distance from the Dream’s other features. Those situated closest to Id’s tail are smallest, where as those on the Dream’s neck and near various shoulders are quite possibly the largest. The exact number of orbs is unknown as no one has taken the time to count them; although it is known that it is uneven. Due to events that won’t be mentioned by most one pair of Orbs is incomplete, the furthest most Orb on the Dream’s left tail tip is missing; in its place is a deep festering wound that appears to be in capable of healing and is often hidden in Id’s mouth whenever it is brought up in conversation. A smaller number of Orbs also adorn Id’s horns, a total of four pairs, all of which appear before the horns reach their apex and curve. The largest of these pairs rest in the wider base of the horns, the three remaining pairs tapering off in size as the horns do in thickness. These Orbs are as inconsistent in colour as Id’s iridescent sheen, for the most part they are pearlescent, in their myriad of colour, playing host to just as many hues as those found in pale opals. What is more impressive, or to some confusing is the fact that these Orbs shift and change colour with an unknown force or whim. Light and movement doesn’t appear to affect them at all and they operate independently of Id’s physical actions. Some even warn others not to focus on them too long when in conversation with the Dream as they tend to play tricks on one’s mind. Part of the reason for their trickery is the fact that the Orbs aren’t just a physical edition to the Dream; rather they are interconnected with Id’s primarily latent abilities. These powers blossom into being at a rate much slower than any other dragon breed, adding to the deception that Dream dragons are far weaker than other breeds across Sekkai. Id’s Crystal is nothing special when considered against the colour and shifting nature of the Orbs; having said that though it is very difficult to spot given its similarity to them. Like the Orbs the Dream’s Crystal is spherical in shape with an iridescent sheen. It is an Opal stone, more specially a pale Ethiopian Opal; the hues present in it uncannily similar to those found in constant motion inside the other Orbs. It’s location is far less visible and perhaps in the only place of Id that is potentially protected. Just under the poll at the back of Id’s broad skull is a small notch, or would be; for this is where the Dream’s Crystal is nestled in a manner that has half of it protruding from the soft surface much like the Orbs running down Id’s sides. In this location the Opal is also protected by the backwards sweep of Id’s horns. Together skull and horns keep the Crystal at least vaguely protected from three sides, but there is no denying the fact that perhaps its greatest protection is its similarity to the Orbs; anyone not knowing the Dream’s make up might mistake the central Crystal for being another Orb. ![]() Crystal Renditions by draconafin Personality- Hatching scene -
