Alright folks!
Our poor neglected Dires really need some action and I'm willing to start one last, desperate attempt to get something going. For that I'll be needing your help.
I already have a plot that I will be abusing for this purpose, so if you are interested, please read on:

Smirijs face was as bleak and empty as it always was but today was slightly different from the norm. He had a folded paper in his hand, nails and a small hammer to post it on the notifications board within the Direwing of the Academy. It was filled in an accurate but simple script, leaving little space blank and wasted. A job description more or like. Direhandlers only. With the dragonriders to hard pressed to bring their campaign to an early end, there were little troups left who could actually take care of cleaning up the hinterlands. The once taint infected regions were still crawling with all sorts of creatures, many forrests haunted by creations of mad influenzas who had spread diseases and things much worse than that throughout the once healthy wildlife. Those areas were now dangerous ground and not many dared to treat upon them without the guard of at least one fully grown dragon. Which obviously was not always possible. The Academy simply had not enough of them to cover everything. Especially not now with Kazuko dead and the future of the dragonriders unknown.

So the direhandlers had to pick up the slack. A lot of missions like these had been given out lately and all regular packs that were at combat strength had left the Academy already. Only those who were understrength or without a pack entirely remained. And there was always more work to be done. Which had left Smirij in a very... peculiar situation. He had been made leader for another of those missions. Designated packleader for only about as long as the mission lasted to fill in with much needed help in one of the more taint-ridden regions they had recently reclaimed. Obviously without the proper pack to go along with his temporary title. What did he expect, really? They wouldn't start scraping out the bottom unless they had nobody else to fill the gap. Smirij frowned slightly and picked up his tools, nailing the small sheet of paper to the board with steady beats. Time to get some direhandlers and get the job done, eh?

It wasn't like he had much of a choice after all... Only moments later, he walked away from the board again, taking his tools with him and leaving only the small, lonely sheet of paper behind.

ATTENTION!

Direhandlers and partners needed for urgent mission. Current pack does not matter. Brakehold needs immediate assistance with taint infestation, lest they face starvation and death. A creature, probably a small forest dragon, has been roaming the area, feeding on the lifestock and must be dealt with - a temporary direpack is deemed appropriate for the duty as there is no dragon available to be dispatched at this point. Do not expect reinforcement.
You are to sign up here and meet up near Brakehold with Direhandler Smirij Darkstrike and his partner Bloodbite at Noon on the fifth day after the next full moon night. He will be designated leader for the temporary pack formed for this mission.

The paper held several empty lines at the bottom, ready to be filled with names of whomever was insane or brave enough to sign up for the mission to rescue the desperate hold to the west of the continent, a small settlement just at the foothills of the mountains that covered most of Loth Angresan.

Alright, that's the setting for you gaiz, I'll be doing the scenery and setting and monster part... and all you got to do is join in on the fun and grab the opportunity to play your dires and their handlers by the scruff of its neck. It should give you the chance to have some dire-action aswell as character development material ;)
I'll be supplying a couple of NSC-dires aswell so we have things to get slaughtered and moan over but you are very welcome to play one yourself if you do not have a dire yourself and still want to jump in on the fun.

Please fill out the form below, so I know who's in on it.

Code:

[b]Character Names:[/b]
[b]Direbreed:[/b] Moonrunner/Duskstrider/Sundasher
[b]Unusual traits:[/b] (is your dires sense of smell particularly keen? is he somewhat deaf? Scared of water? Let me know so I may give you special attention during the misson;) )
[b]Injuries?[/b] yes/no
[b]Degree?[/b] (something like scratches/leaving scars/crippling/death... leave blank if above is no)

I'll be opening a Thread for the mission once a few people have signed up so we can start the whole thing.
I will be applying slight god-moding to describe injuries your character can take when you signed up for them, just so you are aware of that before you join in on the fun ;)

If this does not work out at all due to lack of interest... Imma give up on them poor suckers :C

If it works out, we can try to make this a more regular thing, perhaps even form a real pack with a couple of dires and others being associated with it.

After the misson itself is finished, there is room for Rosemarys to come in and aid but until I say so, dragons are forbidden to romp through that particular Thread >.>

FFFFF CARNI I LOVE YOU!! Might add in an NCP, but we'll see.
Character Names:Nealious Cooper and Fenrir
Direbreed: Sundasher
Unusual traits: Fenrir is aggressive almost to the point of blind rage when challenged or irked and he has the appetite of a blackhole. Tends to go solo on things. Nealious has the nerve of a charred stick, but isn't utterly cowardly. Still, he falls for cheap scares and tends to have delayed reactions from time to time. This lovely duo is also accompanied by a blue gryphon, named Blueluck, of whom is somewhat sufficient in the ways of battle, if squawking counts, and is reasonably trained in scouting.
Injuries? Yes
Degree? Some bruising and scrapes here for Neal, maybe even a fractured/broken rib or two. Fenrir could use some humbling, so a few scar worthy wounds and maybe a nibble on a tail if you feel daring.

( Let me know if i should fix this or if I did it right.)

Eeeeee, this sounds like fun!

Character Names: Shad and Grimm
Direbreed: Moonrunner
Unusual traits: Grimm is incredibly commanding, likes to be in control, and hates being ordered around unless the orders are blatantly decent orders in the situation. Shad, on the other hand, much prefers being given orders, and will do his best to follow them... whether they come from his packleader or his dire.... When it comes to fighting, neither of them should have any issues, though Grimm is faster on picking up the strategy and what needs to be done than Shad is. Grimm is also prone to developing his own strategy if a good one is not presented quickly.
Injuries? Sure
Degree? Any scratches, bruises, or other small scars are all open, couple broken bones or larger cuts fine just as long as they don't result in anything permanently debilitating. (Eg. cut across the shoulders that disables arm for a month is okay, something that removes the arm is not okay.) Have fun, and you're welcome to do some pretty serious (eventually recoverable) damage to them if no other victims are available. Can be disabled during the fight.

That about what you're looking for?

Character Names: Blood Gremrelle and Heartwraith
Direbreed: Moonrunner
Unusual traits: Heartwraith is calm and quiet, similar in ways to her Rider, although she cannot stand anyone bossing her around unless there is a good reason behind it. She is kind, but by no means gentle, she can get pretty aggressive at times. Especially in battle, although she wouldn't dash forward to attack without thinking first. Heartwraith has an innate fear of heights, she completely freezes up without coaxing from Blood.
Injuries? Yup
Degree? Some bruises, scratches, maybe a couple of fixable wounds to Heartwraith, maybe to her muzzle. I'd like Blood to lose an eye, he would look cool, what with that stern expression of his. xD I don't mind how it comes about. :)

I hope this is good enough. :3
