Character Number- 2nd Name- Dvri Sanantt (Div-ree) Age- 39 Gender- Male Sexuality- Straight [sketch reference by megs] Appearance- Dvri could almost be viewed as...a pretty boy. Okay, he can be, but mostly when he was in his twenties. His hair is feathery and black, shoulder-length, and almost looks like a dark blue it's so deep and pretty. His eyes are a dark blue, but they seem to stand out like crystals, for his skin is an olive tone. When he was young, his build was slightly muscular and lean, his posture relaxed but straight. A bit on the tall side, with a smile that could charm or a glare that could pierce. Now, as an older man, he's gone through some changes. He keeps his hair the same length, but with his bangs slightly longer. He usually pulls it back now, to keep it out of the way. His face is angular and sharp, with a faint, thin scar trailing up the side near his right ear. Dvri has grown into a nicely toned man, finally seeming to fit into his long legs and his chest has become more broad and manly. All these years out in broad daylight has deepened the brown of his skin, which makes the scars on his arms stand out like the yellow on Firesong. Each scar tells a story, but they aren't ones he bears all that proudly. His bright smile still meets his bright eyes, however, as he has still managed to find the light of every situation. In fact, as of late, he really does have a lot to smile about, being alive and all and able to look back and see just how fine a job he and Firesong had done. Dvri still has a habit for dressing on the nicer side. He does not look to look worn and ragged, and replaces clothes as needed to keep up a neat appearance. He finds himself, more often than not lately, wearing snug, soft shirts with some sort of handsome jacket over it. He enjoys slacks and well-polished boots. When things promise to get dirty, he buckles down to as simple, but still as good-looking wear as possible. He always shines his boots, a long habit never died down. No matter how bad things have gotten, he could always make his boots look somewhat spiff. Personality- A more-or-less silent type, Dvri does not say much unless he actually has something worthwhile to say. Rather, his expressions are his words, having a talent to construct his face to take their place for some occasions. He is very capable of speech, but was always just over-voiced by his boisterous siblings that he is just used to being quiet. This man is a gentleman, no matter who he is facing. Another man, a woman, children. He likes to handle things in as respectable a manner as possible before resulting to things such as, say, harsh words or even violence. He likes to be courteous and kind, but isn't a stranger to standing up for himself or being firm. Dvri is very loyal. Once loyalty is given, it can't be taken. He stands up for what he must, what he believes is right, and can be very, very stubborn about his decisions, for he tends to make them carefully. He likes to plan ahead, to be organized, to have some kind of direction in which to follow. If it weren't for his kindness, he'd really look like a stuck up snob. Once in a while, he will startle someone by starting an actual conversation with someone other than Firesong. He speaks more through his actions and his expressions than anything else. He works well in his Pack, carrying out every order to the best of his and Firesong's abilities. He takes things quiet seriously, and really could do with some lightening up. This man won't even drink. He likes to be on his game and prepared for anything. His overall personality has not changed much since the war. It just seemed almost too good to be true, really, and he finds himself riddled with enough nightmares to have a constant reminder of what used to be and what could be again. Rank- Nightfang Pack - Pack Second History- Dvri never had a time of need in his early days. He was born to a couple who worked with gems and jewelry, and when Dvri was old enough to start figuring out that not everything was meant to be shoved into his mouth and slobbered on and banged around like the rest of his toys, he was getting prepped to help take over the family business someday, even though he was the youngest of his two brothers. The second oldest was far more interested in carpentry, and the oldest was prepping to go to the Academy and try his luck at bonding to a dragon and becoming a good soldier. While his parents brought in good money, Dvri had the best of pretty much everything up until he hit his teens. Having failed at the Academy, the eldest brother came back and declared he'd learn to take over the family business. His parents agreed so readily that good-mannered Dvri was pushed aside. From that day on, when he tried to raise his voice, his brothers wouldn't give him a chance. He learned it was easier to be quiet than to try competing with the both of them. He remained loyal to his family, but now had to figure out what to do with his life. Helping his brother out with the business was out of the question, and he couldn't seem to find anything he truly liked to do. He picked up odd jobs here and there, gained a good education, spread as much kindness into the troubled world as he could. But the city of Lihn just didn't have anything for him. Finally, in his early twenties, he decided to move to the Academy and become a candidate. Originally he was going to see if he could bond to a dragon (the closest thing he could do to rubbing something foul in his brother's face), but his plans changed once he got a gander at the dires. Everything, what he was meant to do and what he could do, just clicked into place. He was rewarded with Firesong, a lovely Moonrunner pup that brought something new and wonderful to his life. They became quite a pair and Dvri jumped into his new life with something that could have been happiness. He received well wishes and gifts from his parents, who were quite proud of their younger son. Dvri's pleasant little world became chaotic once Drix (elder brother) decided to get him, his parents, and the business into trouble with a rough crowd. He did what he could do to help smooth things over (which was more easily accomplished once he managed to get the now fully-grown Firesong to leer over his shoulder). Once things were somewhat settled with the family, he was tossed into the war. Dvri put his heart and soul into the pack, as did Firesong. They were dedicated to being scouts and collecting information the Sekkains needed. They had their close calls with deaths, and both of them came out with many a scar. But they had survived. However, adjusting back 'down' to a more quiet life proved to be a lot more difficult than he could have ever imagined. He is reminded, though, as he looks upon the faces of his fellow comrades, that every single one of them was going through the same thing. Pet(s)- Male Flora Phoenix - Jaya The Dire [align=center] [/align][epic Firesong by Balu]] [Berber Firesong by Chirp / Firesong by CHirp] Name- Firesong Age- Nineteen years Gender- Female Breed- Moonrunner Appearance- Firesong has always been a beautiful dire, a wonder to the eye. Long, sleek body, perfection molded into her chest, legs, and tail. Every step she makes is practically a dance. Standing at 5'6'', she is graceful and poise, a grand example for a moonrunner. She just screams speed, run, fast, fast! Especially when you take on her coloring. Her short, wonderfully soft fur is a vivid red. Rich, delightful red. The short mane of black, tufted ears, and the end of her long thin tail is blazed alight with streaks of yellow lightning, or fire. It stretches down her sides and chest in blazes of glory. Her paws are graceful, cute even and black in color, but her claws are wicked and have proved their worth over the years. Along with her pearly whites, of course--which aren't so white anymore. She is still beautiful, but is now decked with scrapes, scars, scratches. Where her tail used to end in a graceful tip is now chopped off an inch up, an incident of nearly getting eaten, you see, leaving a strangled tuft of disorganized, longer fur wavering at the end. She has more muscle, but still holds her graceful, cat-like build as proudly as ever before. Her most notable change is a large, jagged scar that runs across her chest in a diagonal line and a frayed right ear. Firesong's eyes, an intense orange flecked with gold, shows some widgets of darker color and hold her entire experience of the war. Anyone who manages to catch her gaze could see her history of it written there. Personality- Firesong is very outgoing and cheerful, always wanting to race and enjoy life. It's not very often she takes things seriously, but when her rider expresses a certain importance to a situation, she usually tames down. But more often than not she is calm and loving, tagging around Dvri like none other. She is pretty shy around the other dires, and finds herself more comfortable with dragons, actually. She befriended many and was able to work away most of her shyness thanks to Dvri's cool and forward manner, but even to this day when they are confronting someone, she'll hover behind his shoulder as opposed to right at his side. If it's a dragon, however, she'll be front and center, tail a wagging. She gained a heart of great determination when she became old enough and strong enough to join in on the war. Firesong used to treat their running errands as a scout as a game, but after a confrontation with a Taint where Dvri nearly lost his life and only her quick actions and escape saved them, she lost some of that young spirit. It took a long time for her to shake off that feeling of impending, personal doom. After that, it was very, very rare indeed that she ever, ever let Dvri out of her site. While she still had a general air of aloofness, she understood the risks and troubles that lay at paw more than ever and took extra precautions to keep her rider out of danger. She became more serious and alert, and made startling personal progress as the years went on. She was trustworthy and speedy. Now, at the conclusion of the war, Firesong is almost...edgy. She feels like she still needs to be constantly on the run, to be ready and leap away from danger. Only when Dvri mentioned she was starting to act like a snappish old lady, did Firesong do some internal reflections. She has calmed down--a bit--and has resumed her old habit of hovering behind Dvri. She has decided to try and make friendships again, and ease up, to remember how she used to be. But there's no denying she has a more wary edge now, but she's still a lovely dire. Update: 7/17/2012: With each day that passes that Firesong gains a new friend or kindles those that were at rest, her cheer and love for life seems restored. Unless she is in a 'mood' or has a reason to be wary, she walks at Dvri's side rather than hides behind him. She's more curious now, as playful and bright as ever before now that the much stressful times are over. For the time being, at least!
