Common Dragon Breeds
- Here is a comprehensive illustration of all our breeds and their minimum and maximum size limits, done by our lovely Kaiser <3
You must have permission to exceed these limits.
Fire- Eggs: Fire eggs are about three feet high and one foot wide with a pointed tip and wide base.
Coloring: Fire dragons primarily range from eye-burning yellow to red to black in color. Most exhibit the reverse of the natural coloration phenomenon; Fire dragons typically showcase a lighter back with a darker belly. Their internal organs may give off a type of bioluminescence, indicative of their extremely hot core temperature. Small amounts of cool colors may be present as pigmented accents, but they are never in the majority.
Appearance:
Males: 90-115 feet long Females: 90-125 feet long
Fire dragons are typically a medium-to-large sized dragon with females generally resting on the larger end of the scale, though they may still easily outweighed by Earth, Lava, and Celestial dragons. Fires are most closely associated with the typical Western-style dragon. They are typically quite fearsome in appearance with long, powerful builds boasting two or more sets of horns. They have ridges that are often spiked down the length of their back and are armored with thick plates. A cluster of spikes or spades may be seen at the tip of the tail. Their wings are mainly bat-like in appearance, but cartilaginous pinions may occasionally be seen.
Element Abilities: Fire dragons possess the ability of fire breathing and fire manipulation. Their breath weapon can be anything from a jet to a large fire ball depending on the formation of the jaws when the fire is expelled. The intensity of the flame is also dependent on age and power. Older and more powerful dragons are sometimes able to melt rock with an intensely hot cone of flame. Veteran Fire dragons have even been shown to draw molten rock from the earth to serve their purposes.
Water- Eggs: Water dragon eggs are about one foot in diameter and spherical.
Coloring: These dragons are most often blue, green, and other cool colors to camouflage with the underwater environment. Those with tropical, southern heritage have been known to exhibit flashy vibrant patterns, whereas Waters of inland heritage may be darker or muddy in color.
Appearance:
Males & Females: 140 feet long
Although shorter than most breeds in proportion to their body size, Water dragons are renowned for their long, serpentine bodies. The uncommon arctic subspecies has a much brawnier build, but they are still recognizable by their distinctively short legs. Their toes are webbed to aid with swimming. Water dragons frequently sport a set of gills in addition to aerobic lungs, allowing them to breathe both above and below the water's surface. The dorsal surfaces of their wings are lined with glossy scales to reduce drag produced whilst swimming. Their tails often end in a wide, flat fin that helps to propel them in the water.
Element Abilities: Water dragons have both a water breath power and a decent elemental control of it, the proficiency of which may vary depending on age and skill. They can shoot high velocity jets, the temperature of which they can change from scalding to freezing on whim. A mark of mastery in this area is the ability to freeze water into ice. This is a technique only performed by the most adept individuals of this breed. At their most powerful, these dragons have been historically acclaimed to be able to summon tsunamis.
Forest- Eggs: Lumpy and relatively small, being only about seven inches in length and four inches in girth, though they make up for their diminutive size with sheer numbers.
Coloring: Forest dragons come in a variety of shades. The most common specimens by far are green and verdant of every hue, but it is not uncommon for individuals to mimic the colors of specific flora.
Appearance:
Males & Females: 30-55 feet long
Forest dragons are thin, lightweight beasts, easily among the fastest in both air and earthen terrain. They are excellent runners with strong legs and deep chests to allow for extremely efficient oxygen intake. Prominent upper canine fangs, decorative spikes, and frills are often hallmarks of the Forest breed. Bristling spines commonly adorn their bodies in various patterns and typically culminate to a poisonous stinger at the tip of their tail. Element Abilities: Forest dragons possess the ability to both spit acid and produce a deadly venom. Their venom comes in two forms; a numbing agent and a fast-acting toxin. Some clever dragons mix the two for destructive effect, paralyzing a creature and killing it quickly at the same time. They can often spit acid at a distance of twenty-five to thirty-five feet. Forest dragons also posses the ability to manipulate plant life to a certain degree, allowing it to grow at faster (or slower) rates and coax it into specific forms.
Earth- Eggs: These uneven and rough eggs are among the largest in existence, each with a radius of about two feet and standing at about five feet tall.
Coloring: Earth dragons vary in color from light tawny sand to rich brown. Most color palettes revolve around a brown hue, but some far-reaching tones may also be seen. Gold, burnt black, or ruddy clay hues are not unheard of.
Appearance:
Males & Females: 115-165 feet long
Earth dragons are among the largest creatures in mass and frame size, though because of this they have little in the way of flight capability. They are commonly bulky and muscular with thick, short limbs. Protective armor and sturdy claws are a distinctive feature. Earth dragons are notoriously accomplished digging machines. Their wings are wide and well-muscled, but relatively short. A unique feature of Earth dragons is that they may be born without wings altogether, but for such accomplished geomancers this is never considered a defect. Even with wings Earth dragons are incapable of true flight, though they may be able to glide fairly well. Their tails often end in massive clubs or spades, each capable of incurring massive damage through means of defense or offensive combat.
Element Abilities: Earth dragons have the ability to shift earth and rock, speeding up erosion or conforming it to a desired shape. They have a breath ability that, at first, appears to be a dark brown goo, but solidifies almost instantly. This hardens into a substance as sturdy as stone and is difficult hard to break. When shaped, it may also become a formidable weapon.
Air- Eggs: Resemble those of a chicken and are about nine inches tall by five inches wide.
Coloring: Air dragons display two stereotypical colorations, either extremely pale, (ranging from pure white to a creamy color, as well as the occasional light blue) or flush with vibrant color like the most flamboyant of songbirds. Their bellies are usually paler, blending in with the clouds instead of the sky. Neither males nor females are brighter than the other, the only difference is that male dragons tend to have brilliant splashes of color on their feathered wings, which they use to attract mates or flash warning signals. Females usually have single colored wings.
Appearance:
Males: 35-70 feet long Females: 35-60 feet long
Air dragons are typically slender in appearance with tapered limbs. Their tails may be long or short in length, but end in a feathered fan used as a rudder while flying. A mane of feathers or fluff runs down their neck, ending between their wings. Unusually, Air dragons also possess a pair of long, tufted ears. Instead of a single pair of wings, they posses two feathered pairs. The leading pair is typically twice the size of the second, though exact proportions may vary between individuals. Air dragons sport long, thin muzzles or beaks, allowing them to catch prey items midair with ease. For this reason, their talons are long and hooked, like those of a bird of prey. However, unlike true avian raptors, males are generally larger in this breed.
Element Abilities: Air dragons are by far the most agile and maneuverable in the air. Their dual pair of wings allow them to create air currents of their own, aided by magic. These currents are used to disrupt the flight of other dragons, especially during battle. In addition to this manipulation of the air currents, they are able to create large blasts of air as their breath-ability, as well as using the air from their wings to form a cutting 'wind scythe'.
Sonic- Eggs: Very strange shape, almost disc-like. Only about four inches thick at the extremities, they are about ten inches wide.
Coloring: Sonic dragons come in an odd combination of colors, ranging from dark reds to forest greens to deep blues, most often with striations of lighter or darker colors across their hides.
Appearance:
Males & Females: 40-55 feet long
Sonic dragons are small to medium in size and size and varies between genders. They are somewhat squat with a broad, heavy chest, which holds a pair of extremely large lungs. Their wings are typically short, in suit with their muscular tail and neck. Sonic horns and spines display great variation, but as a rule are hollow to facilitate their control over sound. Many resemble the shape of a particular instrument while some may be abstract in form, but all revolve around the amplification and manipulation of sound in some manner.
Element Abilities: Sonic dragons often use silent noise waves to disrupt the equilibrium in their opponent. Using their magic, they can turn the whining of the wind through their spires into a high pitched noise that confuses and disorients any who hear. They are also deft manipulators of volume, and can silence any noise in their hearing just as easily as they can make it deafening. For a more potent offensive, skilled Sonics can also pinpoint particularly high or low vibrations upon an enemy and permanently damage their internal organs.
Rosemary- Eggs:The smallest dragon egg you'll find, Rosemary eggs are scarcely four inches long and shaped like a bird's egg.
Coloring: Rosemary dragons come in a myriad of colors, as bright as the rainbow. Their coloring is mainly based off flowers and other decorative flora, ranging from blues to greens, reds to yellows, pinks to purples, and many more. They often seem to relate to a specific type of flower, having similar markings to said bloom. Their markings are never the same and vary greatly.
Appearance:
Males & Females: 14-20 feet long
Rosemary dragons, also known at Thyme, Sage, and Ether dragons, are the smallest of all dragon breeds, scarcely larger than a bull draux. Most Rosemaries are slender in build and are fairly tall for their size, standing quite a ways off the ground. They are excellent runners and are capable of carrying a single rider in flight, though they struggle with a heavy load due to their small size. They often have brightly colored, feathered crests over various parts of their body. Rosemary dragons are one of the few breeds that also posses feathered wings.
Element Abilities: Rosemary dragons are extremely skilled in the art of healing, their saliva possessing effective curative properties that help to fight infection and heal wounds. They can also concentrate their ability to heal wounds at an accelerated rate, though they are incapable of healing Tainted crystals. The dander from their feathers also produces a soporific effect to soothe patients.
Uncommon Dragon Breeds
Gravity - Eggs: Almost perfectly spherical with bright striations, with a radius of about 7 and a half inches.
Coloring: Gravity dragons are usually black or a very deep hues of other colors such as violet and blue. Their hides are often speckled with flecks of lighter colors, sometimes mimicking star fields, galaxies, nebulae, whorls, other galactic phenomenon.
Appearance:
Males & Females: 60-80 feet long
Gravity dragons are somewhat like Water dragons in the fact that they are a great deal longer, yet lack vertical height. Long and slender, they have an almost catlike grace and elegance with have short, pointed ears that they can swivel with ease. Gravity dragons have long, slender spines along various points of their body, the appearance of which may vary somewhat between individuals. These spines may be used to sense gravitational fields and detect disturbances. Their wings are primarily webbed, though due to their handle on gravitational pull they are not always required for flight.
Element Abilities: Gravity dragons, as their namesake implies, possess an ability to manipulate gravity. They possess no breath power in truth, but have a much larger area of manipulation than other dragon breeds. When they touch an object they can either increase or decrease gravity in that spot, leading to levitation or crushing weight. Their manipulation, however, cannot be set upon an opponent at a distance, and any effect is greatly reduced with the distance between the Gravity and the subject. Innately they are able to manipulate the gravitational forces upon their own bodies.
Lightning- Eggs: Perfectly spherical, standing at about eight inches high. Coloration includes yellow with light blue striations.
Coloring: Lightning dragons often come in deep goldenrods, pale creams, greys, and dusky blues and maroons. Their hides are striated with high contrasting colors in forked patterns. There is often a stripe of dark color around their spine, branching off into stripes and slashes.
Appearance:
Males & Females: 50-60 feet long
Lighting dragons are small to medium in size with long, slender bodies with willowy limbs. They are fairly tall and lanky in proportion. Their wings are typically massive and the membrane is irregularly thick. They have a short snout and their impressive horns have great variation in shape, often resembling moose, antelope, and stags. Tall, thin spines run down the length of their back, electricity jumping spectacularly between them. Their tail is often tipped with a blade or dagger and highly conductive to electricity.
Element Abilities: Lightning dragons have the ability to shoot bolts of electricity from their mouth and gather it along their spines to increase their power. They also have a fair bit of control over natural storms, able to quell the typhoon to some extent but particularly good at increasing the ferocity of the storm. They are able to manipulate the strength, target and shape of naturally occurring lightning and are so comfortable living within the tempest that they often take to following storms all around the country.

Rare Dragon BreedsMetal- Eggs: About two feet high and ten inches wide, being tall and thin as well as metallic.
Coloring: The sub-classifications of Metal dragons have corresponding colors. Copper dragons often have said burnished orange scales, while Iron dragons tend to be a darker tarnished-grey. Steels too are a lustrous silver with the highest polish of all. Sub-variants (or 'alloys') of the three Metal divisions may be seen as well, though these are very rare. Metal dragons have mostly uniform hides.
Appearance:
Copper: 70-80 feet long Steel: 70-90 feet long Iron: 80-90 feet long
Metal dragons are usually slender or athletic in appearance, though they vary depending on sub-classification. Coppers are shorter and slightly thicker of limb, while Steels are slender and long. Iron dragons are the most muscular of their breed. The imbued metal in their scales makes their armor extremely hard and glossy. Metal dragons have strange, looping horns, which are a great deal larger in the males of this breed. Their spines and talons are hooked and very dangerous. Their toes are unnaturally long and humanoid, and by far they most dexterous of dragon breeds. Their tail ends in long, slender blade, which is quite capable of cutting through flesh and bone. Male Metal dragons are typically larger than females.
Element Abilities: Metal dragons have the ability to breath the specific metal of their sub-classification in liquid form. It is not, as one would suspect, molten hot, but instead solidifies instantly on contact with a surface. They also have powers of manipulation over a variety of metals, not just their own, which makes them talented metal workers.
Unique: Metal dragons are born through a combination of two rare dragon breeds: Lava and Ice. For some reason, matings of this sort usually result in Metal eggs; Copper being most common and Steel the most rare. On some occasions, a Lava or Ice egg will result.
Lava - Eggs: Unusually small, usually in the shape relative to that of a plump chicken egg with a height of only one and a half feet but a diameter of two feet at the base.
Coloring: Lava dragons possess a striking and ferocious hide. Their scales are mainly black or a dark gray striated with brilliant orange or red, creating the illusion of living magma golem. Like their common cousin, the Fire, Lava dragons also maintain a blistering core temperature which causes their internal organs and blood to glow like a flame. This is even more dramatic in Lava dragons, and they can easily be seen in the dark as they emit their own source of light.
Appearance:
Males & Females: 105-140 feet long
Lava dragons are extremely muscular and large, with short limbs and a brawny build. Nonetheless, they can still fly, unlike their earthen cousins. They are plated in extremely heavy armor the texture of which may resemble tortoise shells. Their wings are massive to hold their weight and they often require the use of strong thermals to assist their flight. They possess long, curling horns as well as a dual row of spines that appear at relatively random intervals on either side of their spine. Their tails end in a wickedly curling spike, which is an extremely handy weapon in battles.
Element Abilities: Lava dragons possess the ability to manipulate flame and molten stone. They can vomit a jet of pure lava, which not only burns but solidifies. They are capable of drawing lava up from beneath the earth or melting the rock around them, in addition to the store of lava held within them. These dragons may also secrete lava to cover themselves in boiling armor.
Unique: Lava dragons are bred through a rare cross of Earth and Fire dragons. A breeding of such will only rarely produce a Lava egg, often producing only Fire and Earth eggs. Rarely a cross between a Glass and Fire will also result in a Lava egg.
Ice - Eggs: Smooth and greatly resemble those of a water dragon, often leading to confusion.
Coloring: Ice dragons often have white, green, blue, and purple scales of very light shades with either a transparent or opalescent sheen. They may have complimentary markings or be a single, pure color, though gradient patterns are generally the most common.
Appearance: Males & Females: 50-80 feet long
Ice dragons resemble a combination of Water and Air dragons, standing easily taller than a Water dragon yet shorter than an Air dragon. Their build is long and athletic, but hardly delicate. They also tend to have longer, whip-like tails in comparison to their bodies. Their horns, which are jagged and seem to appear at random along their spine and head, are usually translucent. This is the same with their teeth and claws, which are long and curved, perfect for gripping slippery ice. Despite the appearance of mere decorative icicles, their horns are rock hard and difficult to break. They also possess a strange trio of curved claws at the end of their tail, which rest on a 'pseudo-hand.' Ice dragons may occasionally display feathering or fur on some appendages, but they are primarily scaled. They feel most comfortable in cold or Arctic environments.
Element Abilities: Ice dragons use a breath of near-freezing water to attack. Depending on the intent of the dragon this can solidify into deadly weaponry, freeze the extremities of an opponent or create a solid wall of ice to trap or build upon. They also have a natural ability to effect the temperature around them, for the most part able to selectively drop the temperature of their surroundings to fatal depths while ensuring their own survival (and that of their riders).
Unique: Ice dragons are bred through a combination of Air and Water dragons, though the chances of an Ice egg are even less than that of a Lava egg.
Celestial- Eggs: Large and ovoid, measuring at around six feet horizontally.
Coloring: Celestial dragons are primarily golden in hue, which can range from deep bronzey tones to rose gold, to a pale, almost white-gold in color. Their hides may also speckled with multicoloured scales, either in pastel tones or vivid ones. These rainbow scales are sometimes placed at random or clustered together in patches. Their wings are unique in the fact that they are both membranous and feathered along the arm.
Appearance:
Males & Females: 150-175 feet long
Celestials, aside from being the rarest, are also the longest of dragons. They are typically very long in proportion and slender with arching necks much like that of a swans. They have thin jaws, as well as a pair of short, flexible ears. They boast a quartet of long, stately horns both on their skull and flanking their plumed tail-tip. Male Celestials are much less common than females, but posses an extravagant feathered crest used primarily to attract mates. Long spines with metallic frilling also run along their spine, reaching a high point between the hind quarters.
Element Abilities: Celestials have an incredibly rare ability, which appears to revolve around the sun. They are, in a manner, solar powered beasts, spending the majority of their time laying in the sun and soaking up its rays. Their breath power is a single, searing blast of light, whose intensity can be altered to either blind or burn. Celestials also have a fair bit of manipulation over their element aside from their breath weapon, such as the creation of floating lanterns and stars in miniature depending upon age and skill. They also seem to have an inner radiance, almost glowing in the dark.
Unique: - Celestials are a breed that is notoriously difficult to predict for in a clutch. The breeding between two Celestials is often the only way to guarantee an egg (though this may backfire and produce a Chaos), but occasionally they have appeared in the clutch of an entirely unrelated breed, adding confusion to the breed as a whole. They have a slight affinity for female riders, but bonding to male candidates is not unheard of.
Karma- Eggs: Their eggs are about 2 feet and ovoid, with a black shell and shimmering silver sheen.
Coloring: They have a base colour like silver mercury and frequently have another underlying colour that presents itself in brilliant patterns and highlights. The majority will have only one complimentary color, but markings of deeper or lighter colors are not uncommon. They are known for their haloed appearance in daylight, shining entities not quite made of flesh.
Appearance:
Males: 70-90 feet long. Females: 60-75 feet long.
Karma dragons are lengthy, tall at the shoulders, possessing a sloping back that grants them a dignified posture. Most of them have a raptor-like head and the skull stretches back to flaunt a grand bony crest. Their eyes appear milky, covered in an opalescent, reflective film in the presence of strong to medium light. This is due to a membrane beneath the eyelids coming down to protect the eyes. They are capable of near flawless vision in the dark, extremely sensitive to light, and will usually shy away from coming into direct exposure. In addition, they prefer to narrow their nostrils to slits and keeping their mouths closed to protect their tender, sensitive inner flesh. Their long swanning necks are well muscled and elegant, leading to strong shoulders. They have a single pair of slim, falcon-like and feathered wings; the pinion feathers are usually white. However, under rare circumstances when Karmas are born on the night of a Harvest, or Blue moons, they can be gold or blue respectively. From their tails grow great flukes of hide and scale that they use for direction and ballast in the sky. Their flukes are usually pure white like new snow in moonlight.
Element Abilities: Said to be the counterpart of the Celestials, they are the shadows of their cousins’ light. Despite their angelic appearance and their praised skill of ‘cleansing’ the Taint, this mysterious breed wields a much more sinister ability than what most perceive. Instead of absorbing light like they may appear to be, Karmas capture and trap light on the outer most layers of their scales and hide, as well as on their feathers. The captured light is diffused outwards, like the moon reflecting sunlight, giving them their trademark haloed appearance.
The lower their exposure to light, the more powerful and their elemental prowess becomes. In complete darkness, they are capable of reaching full potential. They can still perform well under normal conditions as long as they keep their inner flesh under shade and in the dark. Karmas manipulate pseudo ‘dark energy’, which is vastly different compared to dark energy in astronomy. Due to their sensitivity to light, Karma dragons are often nocturnal in circadian rhythm.
Karmas are able to breathe forth a cleansing mist, curing most things of poisons or curses. Perhaps the most astonishing and unique aspect about this mist is that it can heal the broken bonds that Tainting inflicts. It is almost impossible for reformed Sekkains to fully recover from of psychological ravage sustained under the former Tainted legion's control. A Karma's breath will mend crystals and repair the magic connection between rider and dragon. In recent times, it has become possible for the living party of a former rider pair to live on without the other if their respective crystal is healed. Effectiveness in healing also depends upon the skill and age of the dragon in question; elder Karmas will have a better grasp upon the healing process while a younger dragon might have some difficulty. The steam breath can also be turned into a scorching steam that can burn with devastating effect on contact and be shot out with force.
Unique: Also called Spirit or Chakra dragons, Karma dragons are exceedingly rare and generally only appear within a Karma's clutch, typically during the height of the full moon. They will rarely show up within Air and Ice pairings as well, but they are nearly unheard of. To find a Karma dragon in a clutch in the first place is a rare and lucky opportunity.
Crystal- Eggs: Nearly one and one half feet tall, they are smooth and shimmer like pearl.
Coloring: These dragons are opalescent in hue with various colors as an undertone. Their scales shimmer with rainbow hues of every color imaginable, but when viewed from a distance, seem to be overall white. Their claws and horns are a bright silver color with more of a matte finish. Appearance:
Males & Females: 70-80 feet long
Crystal dragons are somewhere between strong and nimble, their legs slightly longer than most breeds. The scales of a crystal dragon are elongated and look very much like feathers with razor sharp edges. They are very flat and overlap heavily creating a very spectacular array of reflections when light hits them in even the smallest amounts. Their wings are long and slender, with 2 curved claws on each "hand" joint and semi-translucent wing membranes that connect partway down the tail. The tail itself is long and whip-like with only the faintest hint of a spiked tip. Crystal dragons have long spikes which start between the eyes and travel down the neck, halting just before the base of the neck then pick up again midway down the back, fanning out down to the tip of the tail. The spikes have sail-like membranes that spread between them helping to stabilize during flight.
The head of the crystal dragon is short and sharply angled with the chin jutting out slightly adding to the pointed look of this dragon's face. The eyes are usually a bright turquoise color, but can range anywhere from deep lavender to bright green. The horns are twisted and pitted at intervals, revealing specially formed scales which are usually of a brighter color and match the eyes of the dragon. These also glow at times, depending on the actions or the mood of the dragon in question.
Element Abilities: Crystal dragons have the unique ability to not only change the shape of the earth around them to a great extent, but can also align particles at a molecular level, in turn have the ability to alter the friction of the material in question, mostly rock and sand. They have the innate ability to fuse certain types of stone into crystal and can even alter the structure of their own scales to make them as soft or hard as they want, though when said skill is not in use, their scales are as strong as any normal dragon's would be.
Unique: Crystal dragons are born from the pairing of a Water dragon and a Earth dragon, are quite rare, and female eggs of this element rarely mature to hatching. Those that do, however, mature to be noticeably stronger than their male cohorts.
Glass- Eggs: Their eggs vary in shape and size almost as much as the dragons themselves do. Some are small and others huge, some spherical and others uneven, but luckily smooth lumps are much more common than unpleasant spines. Usually their size can give a hint towards the size of the hatchling, but it wouldn't be too unusual for a huge egg to produce a dragon only as large as a Forest. As far as colors go, the eggs tend to be somewhat on the darker side with the same semi-translucency commonly found in colored glass, hiding the shape of the hatchling within. It is unconfirmed whether the amorphous shadows visible through the shell is the hatchling itself, but it is known that if the shadows stop moving for an extended period of time the dragon within has likely died.
The most common cause of egg-death is incorrect temperature, as Glass Eggs can be exceedingly fickle. They require a temperature that is much higher than a Fire egg's nest, but still somewhat lower than the temperature for a Lava egg. Its foundation also needs to be steady or else the well-being of the young dragon will be at risk. Losing hatchlings before they hatch has been the cause of Glasses being rare in the past, despite the fact that their eggs used to be quite numerous.
Coloring: The color of Glass dragons varies just as much as their size, and no two of them will ever be quite the same. Their hides cross through all shades of the rainbow and might even pitch into near-black occasionally, with just few stray highlights of other colors. They always sport a single main color that can display any and all shades within that hue, but never an opposite color. Usually that means a blue Glass might bear traces of purple, cyan and even a tinge of green but will never dip into red, orange or yellow. It seems that every Glass is limited to a certain range on the color-wheel and true exceptions have yet to be seen. The only exception would be the semi-mythical colorless Glass, which would appear translucent and prismatic in the right light.
Appearance:
Size: 20-100 feet long.
Just as much as size and color fluctuate across the entire spectrum, so does their overall body shape. Many Glass dragons tend to come with a certain lithe elegance but a burly creature isn't unheard of either. They even break the mold of usual draconic limb placement:, sporting up to four wings, three sets of legs, two tails and (thankfully) only one head. One thing they do tend have in common is a tendency for sharp edges and thorns, not limited to any particular place on their bodies but often distributed across the entire frame. Conversely, they seldom sport feathers. Proto-feathers and sceathers made of glass are slightly less rare, but aren't useful for flight.
Element Abilities: Glass dragons are able to spit out a shiny glue made of molten glass. This glue is extremely dangerous, so hot it emits a bright light and it will burn anything it touches. If left to cool for even a short period of time if will harden quickly into a burning coat of glass plating. In molten form it is hot enough to set most flammable materials alight, but despite its danger some Glasses have been known to use their weapon to create the most wonderful sculptures known to mankind. Others master the knack of putting a spin on their liquid projectiles, which causes sharp and solid edges to form around the still molten core where the air cools it down before impact, both cutting and burning as it passes.
Their secondary power is much less visible and much less understood. Some even claim it's just a myth surrounding the youngest naturally developed breed of Sekkai. However it does, in fact, exist and can easily summed up into a single word: Creation. Or rather, infusing others with the spirit of creation. Like walking muses, Glasses can be quite inspiring if they choose to be, but the effects are difficult if not almost impossible to track. They do not place the image of a perfect painting in someone's head and lead their hands to draw it. They might do as little as inspire an artist to pick up their tools again and begin drawing. It works just as well when it comes to inspiring a leader to devise a life-saving plan amidst a raging battle. But Glass dragons are always unpredictable, and the outcome depends solely on the person in question. The inspiration may even effect the wrong person if he or she is in close proximity.
Unique: When Fire and Earth come together, a Glass egg is often seen amidst the offspring, in some cases even more than one. Likewise the pairing of a Lava with Water, Air or Ice might produce a Glass egg but this is far more uncommon. Usually the latter results in a tendency for exemplary magical strength at the cost of physical strength, but not always.
Glass eggs weren't initially a rare breed, but the war and the trouble keeping the eggs alive during the first few years have kept the dragons quite a rare sight. Ever since the first one appeared around 2900 b.r. they have been known to pop up, sometimes lingering at the brink of extinction but often somehow struggling back to life. Without the troubles of the past they might have actually grown to be merely an uncommon breed but so far they still remain rare. The amount of eggs popping up in clutches has gone down noticably during the war and some people have suggested they might actually be related to the technology humankind has developed, their numbers dwindling when knowledge or possibly when certain art forms are lost, only beginning to rise again if peace allows the fine arts to prosper and grow.
The scales of a Glass dragon are highly sought after by many traders as both raw materials and trinkets, especially since their decline in numbers during the war. Fake glass scales can be determined from real by a sharp blow from a hammer, as Glass dragon scales are extremely tough and can withstand the pressure that would shatter normal glass. It is seen as a sign of good fortune to come across any such scale, sometimes to the detriment of the dragon who is asked to share their armor. The scales, if not kept whole, are often melted down to craft jewelry and decorations. However only a Fire's scorching breath can properly melt a Glass scale so that it retains its strength and does not become brittle when solidified.
In 3171 b.r. One of the very few fully transparent and colorless Glass dragons hatched, creating yet another odd myth about the breed. There may have been as few as one or two of that coloration in recorded Sekkaian history and this particular male died quite miserably of a birth defect before Kazuko could even hand out his crystal. Visible problems with his heart started rumors that Glass dragons of his coloration simply couldn't survive past hatching. Other dragons had already proven that wrong but it is still commonly believed that transparent Glass hatchlings are a bad omen and always die young.
Chaos- Eggs: Chaos eggs are black and spherical, roughly 10 inches in height. In a dark place, the egg will light the near surroundings, in a light place it darkens the surroundings.
Coloring: Chaos dragons are usually completely black or an extremely deep shade of another color, though some show faint signs of overlaying color on their scales. All Chaos dragons posses arcane markings which glow constantly, but increase in brightness when the dragon is using its magical ability. The color of these markings depends upon the parentage of the dragon in question. If Fire dragons had been the parents, the tribal markings will be similarly colored, in this case: red. The Chaos may take after one or both of its parents.
Appearance:
Males & Females: 50-70 feet long
Chaos dragons tend to look a bit intimidating. They have multiple pairs of horns that can come in all variations of form, from long and unbowed, to spiraled to ram horns. These can also be split. Chaos dragons often have spines, spikes, sails, and thorns at various places on their bodies but especially on their heads, jaws, and back. They also frequently have thorns along the backside of their arms as well as elbows and ankles. The tail tip is another indicator of parentage, and usually takes after just one parent. If the Chaos had a Lava parent, its tail tip may present with a hook, and if the parent was a Water, a large fin is likely to be present. Chaos dragons are typically solid in build with sturdy limbs and a muscular chest.
Element Abilities: These dragons possess the bizarre ability to manipulate probability and physics, for the most part. If a Chaos Dragon uses its abilities, nothing is like it should. Above can be below, fire feels cold, arrows that would normally hit will miss. As long as the dragon knows which outcome is most likely, they only need to concentrate on what will switch and in which way. In most cases there's more than one possibility, and if they don't concentrate on how it should switch, it will switch randomly. The more creative the dragon is the better it will be able to use its abilities. Expert Chaos dragons can concentrate on many things at the same time.
In addition to this ability, Chaos dragon posses an unearthly breath-power which resembles a beam of black light and usually has devastating affects on whatever it touches, though it is usually random or takes great concentration to control.
Unique: Chaos dragons are very rare, but can appear in almost any dragon's clutch. It's unknown how this happens. Oddly, a breeding between two Chaos dragons has never produced a Chaos egg. Chaos dragons are notable for their ability to lay any dragon egg at random.
