So sayeth the Spider
Character Number- Adopted slot # 1

Name- Meira Kohar (means “giving light” and “jewel” ) DECEASED

Age- 16

Gender- Female

Sexuality- Heterosexual …so far. But she doesn’t really care for the drama of a relationship

Appearance- Meira is a bigger girl, at 5’5 she has a tad more weight on her but is not what one would call “fat”. The chubbiest part of her is her face, but it is certainly not unappealing. When she smiles, which she does quite often, she forms adorable dimples on her cheeks. Her teeth are even and straight but are off-white due to her love of coffee. Meira's skin as a light to moderately tanned complexion which never seems to darken or pale unless she blushes. Her hair is thick, somewhat wavy, and is a mix of blonde shades, but she likes to dye it different colors for fun and just to see how it looks. Her eyes are a dark blue bordering on grey and always seem alert but she sometimes squints them which makes it look like she’s thinking hard.

Her clothing is usually bright colors and loose and flowy. Which is good because Meira moves around a lot! Long skirts and relaxed fit pants especially. She prefers loose but tasteful blouses (never cleavage!) with pretty patterns on them, along with flowers and gems especially for décor. Along with accessories when she can, ribbons and bands in her hair, rings etc. Meira's no fashion buff, she just wears what she likes. Her crystal is worn in a bracelet with similar gems. In modern terms she could be viewed as a “neo-hippy” but she’s far more vibrant and inviting.

Personality- There are so many ways to describe Meira. In short, she is bubbly, friendly, vibrant, and her head is in the clouds. However, she can seem shy at first. Smart enough to know she needs to figure someone out before making friends with them at least. But once she extends her friendship, it lasts forever. In fact, she is possibly the most devoted friend a person could hope for. Meira always wants to cheer people up and make others happy. However, around Negative people, she can be more quiet and reserved if it is clear they do not want her help. No matter what though she is always supportive. One thing you will learn immediately about Meira is she loves to have fun! Singing, dancing, so long as it’s innocent fun. This girl rarely if ever has any dirty thoughts and can even be a tad prude unless she’s making a joke…she jokes often but sometimes they can be a tad dirty. But it’s rare…usually, if she’s had a tad too much to drink which is even rarer due to her age as she tries to be a good girl.

Some may see her as hyper, and yes she does have a lot of energy but it’s more from positivity, vitality, love of life in general…Which can be annoying when she gets “too” happy about something. Of course, she’ll calm down when she realizes it. Meira Is indeed a dreamer, and this coupled with her perkiness gives people the impression she’s stupid. Meira is no fool, sure she may not be a genius or noticeably intelligent but she is wise and has street smarts. The phrase “Spontaneously Intelligent” comes to mind, as sometimes out of the blue she will say something very wise. However, she would rather not let certain knowledge depress her. Knowing all too well the darkness in the world, but she is terrified to let it take hold. Yet another reason she tries so hard to make others happy too. If she can put out just a little darkness for someone, she feels like she did her job.

Rank- Wyrmling

History- Despite her positive bubbly ways, Meira’s life did not start out well. Born in a small village to a loving mother and father, Meira was meant for kindness from the start, but sadly right before she was 4 years old, tainted forces attacked her home town. As usual looking for valuables, humans, and food alike. Her father, along with many others, fought back but sadly was killed. Her mother, thinking fast grabbed little Meira and took her to a hidden storage room beneath their home. She begged for the girl to not make a sound no matter what she heard. The girl obeyed as her mother lead the small group away from her home. Meira Would not learn anything of her mother’s fate until later on. Naturally, after a whole day of silence, the little girl was unsure what to do and began crying. It wasn’t until 2 days after the attack her cries where heard. What few survivors were left had come back to salvage what they could and found poor Meira Realizing staying in the village may not be the best option for her, her neighbors tracked down her Aunt (sister of her mother) in Lihn and took the child to her.

Things improved from there. Her aunt, Emy, was a kind woman. She taught her to always keep an eye on the horizon and not give up. As soon as Meira was old enough, Emy explained to her that the taints had not caught her mother and her body was never found. She explained she knows her sister and would not be surprised if she were living a new life somewhere else now. This gave Meira a new sense of hope, reaffirming her positive outlook ways. As she grew, she found she truly loved helping others. She always brought home animals that needed a home or any care (luckily her aunt had a large home and property) and at least twice helped lost children find their families. She always put a stop to any bullying she saw and enjoyed spending time with lonely people who needed company.

Although she had many friends and a good life, Meira felt a strange void, as if there were something else she needed to do to make her efforts to help matter. When word got out that Nidhogg had been captured and the war was essentially over, it perked her interest. For she was NOT the type who would enjoy fighting in a war but there was one difference- she would fight to protect others. Immediately when rumors started about a group of Taints forming their own army, Meira felt a strong urge to stop it. She expressed this to Emy and the woman at first protested greatly not wanting to lose more family, but Meira explained, “war is the most dramatic form of bullying there is. I want to stop it” To which her Aunt relented. When word of rising females and an upcoming clutch came, Meira seized her chance and headed to the Academy. Being practical, she imagines she would bond to something like a Sonic, a Rosemary, or even a Forest. Breeds that obviously suited her. So it came as a surprise when she bonded to the lone Crystal on the sands.

Upon bonding, however, Meira did feel a sort of heaviness from her new lifemate. It was obvious she held far more negativity than she herself. This, of course, proved to be a battle. In many ways because Telluria seemed to challenge when Meira was being positive on something that was a bit too negative. Telluria preferred practicality and logic, however, she also hated her bond to be so upset. Obviously they needed to work together on such a clashing, Telluria, being a problem solver, actually enjoyed this. Essentially they came to an understanding that Telluria would speak up if she felt the situation at hand could be dangerous if it was approached unwisely, and if Meira was simply trying to be optimistic and hopeful for something that could potentially end well, Talluria would accept that. Soon they found that they could match each other in humor, so the two began to joke around whenever there was a chance and they became closer through this activity. So far the biggest challenge has been getting to know and learn the other wyrmlings. Though with Meira's friendliness and Telluria's quick wit, this should not be a problem.

Name- Telluria

Age- 8 years

Gender- Female

Element- Crystal

Appearance- Telluria, to put it simply, is eye-catching and a fine example of beauty. Like most Crystals, her scales are opalescent and from a distance appear white, however, there is an underlying tone of copper from her mother. This coupled with ever so slight pink, blue and green shine is extremely fetching. Telluria’s chin is delicate and not nearly as pronounced as most of her breed. Her head is adorned with 8 spiraling horns (4 pairs) pitted with a lovely metallic green. This metallic green is also the color of her eyes. Starting on her head and going to the near base of her neck before a large gape and restarting behind her shoulders that continue to her tail tip are more spiraling spines that are joined by a translucent sea foam green membrane. Giving her a striking fin-like crest on her head and back. This sea foam green is also present on the edge of her wing and her talons.

She is also a long legged slender dragon, so she is fast and agile on her feet as well as in the air! Many would consider her "deer like" in shape and movement. Her crystal, a small Bismuth like stone, is located on her right shoulder. Sometimes Meira liked to joke about “That chip on your shoulder” When Telluria is in an off mood. Another very striking but not very noticeable feature is something she inherited from her Chaos father, are markings on her body, face, wings, and fins that glow when she is experiencing an extreme emotion. The stronger the emotion, the brighter the illumination. When not activated these markings are barely visible but are clear to any that know her and seem to add to her mystique, making her further alluring. As an adult, Telluria will be the maximum for a female Crystal in size.

Personality- Sardonic, Decisive, Pragmatic. Telluria, like many other dragons, is quite different from her rider. Most noticeably, she is a tad sardonic and a little negative. Not extremely so, but enough to bug Meira. She simply is a realist, seeing what is wrong with the world and making no attempt to dismiss it. Although she has long since learned not to attack her rider’s more positive views. In fact, she rather envies Meira’s outlook on life. Telluria is a logical pragmatic dragon. She looks at everything logically and likes to expand her knowledge. Her element has sparked somewhat of an interest in science, such as wanting to know what causes minerals to form and life in general to function. This is not to say she does not have a whimsical spiritual side, it just takes a backseat to her logical mind.

Telluria, in fact, is a great problem solver. Highly intelligent, she is always seeking the solution to any problem or question. She performs very well under stressful situations as she keeps calm and instantly focuses on the issue at hand. That is certainly not to say she has no sense of humor! On the contrary, she often likes lightening the mood with jokes and innocent teases, especially to grumpier dragons. Never anything too far (at least she tries not to.) Like her rider, she prefers to see others in a good mood as bad moods just increase the chances of her own grumpiness. She is also just a tad vain, for she knows she is lovely and likes how it makes her feel. She likes the feeling of males noticing her, but she is more of a lady than some. Telluria will not flirt with mated dragons and she will not lead a male on, however, she does do what you could call “friendly flirting” with males she fancies. However, deep down she’d rather have a lifemate whom she can have beautiful children with. She is patient, though, so all in good time!

That was before Meira was killed, however.

History-
The first Crystal born after the war and Nidhogg's capture, many had high hopes for Telluria. She excelled at her lessons and learned quickly. Loving to gain further and further knowledge. Though she did seem to be a somewhat aloof dragon at times, she just enjoyed the peace of a library instead of the bustle of a gathering. Which of course was a bit different from her rider Meira, who was a social butterfly. But the two were well matched.

Telluria loved her rider and her friends. But sometimes she did put her learning first. She found a mentor in fellow Crystal, Serluinn who taught her much about their breed. In time Telluria grew into a very regal and lovely Crystal. Always having a deer-like grace in her movements and a noble sort of beauty. Her first mating flight she flew far North into the snowy mountains and of several suitors, chose Glass Dichroic. Their son, Crystal Ayurnamat, was her proudest work. But still, she was young and despite all her knowledge, she was inexperienced.

Telluria and Meira were often sought out for finding and documenting natural animal and plant life in certain areas as well as some scouting tasks. On a rather simple scouting mission, Telluria and Meira were asked to look for any Tainted activity. Sadly they entered upon a territory being protected by an aggressive Bulkhead. Acting quickly, Telluria ordered Meira to run and get help while she led the Bulkhead away. Both actions ended in tragedy. A storm was brewing and Meira was caught in a storm as she ran. She happened upon the house of Marlowe Valentine who let her in from the storm. Unfortunately for her, she told him what she was doing there and these actions put Marlowe's friend, Blair, a newly appointed Viral, in danger. Because of this, Marlowe slipped the girl poison into her tea much to his heartbreak. And just as Meira slipped away into death's embrace, Telluria was struck down by Bulkhead Sterka. Slammed into a rock wall above a raging river. Cracking her Crystal and knocking her unconscious.

When Telluria woke up, the river had dragged her far and into a thick Forest. She was battered and bruised.....and had no memory of how she got there or anything before that. She had no idea who she was and no recollection of anyone or anything from her past. A lone Gravity, Raistitar, helped Telluria as she recovered. Though since the Crystal had no recollection of her name, she settled on being called Starling as she knew of birds. Perhaps one bit from her past she still held. When she was strong enough, she, unfortunately, bumped into Bone Osteoclast. A suitor from her mating flight. A wicked-tongued Taint, the Bone was able to realize she had lost her memory and tormented her with little bits of information, just enough to torment her into agonize over who she was.

Now in a state of fear and yearning, she both longs to know who she is and of her past but also terrified of what she may find.

The play of light upon the Crystal egg was enchanting, reflecting the occasional flash of color and glimmer of movement. As such, the first wiggle of the egg was almost imperceptible, a tiny shiver that was hidden beneath the illusion that was the flashing shell. It was only with the second or third tremble that notice was drawn, gazes flicking curiously to the ovoid as a chime-like tapping began in earnest from the inside. Even while the Hatching was dying down, Crystal eggs were far from common and the hatching of this one was something of an event. The stubborn refusal for the hatchling to give up on its pursuit of freedom was mirrored by the state of the shell, a few delicate cracks beginning to lace across the surface, swiftly beginning to spread until the entire egg was spiderwebbed in them, looking more fragile and strangely delicate at the same time. A decisive, well-placed blow from the inside was all it took for the egg to shatter, all the pieces falling about at once, surrounding the proud hatchling in a circle of glistening shards.

The Crystal was an extremely attractive creature, all long, slender limbs and sharp angles, her head held high as she stepped over the ruins of her calcite prison with the most grace she could muster. A long, angular head with multiple sets of gracefully spiraling horns that were pitted with pools of a soft, metallic green balanced out the delicate point of her chin, the green in the pits the same hue as her eyes. Much shorter spiraling horns dotted the length of her spine, webbed by a similar semi-translucent green that contrasted the gentle coppery-orange of the rest of her body, that faint tinge of color glittering beneath the opalescence of her kind. As she stepped forward, light playing across her scales, a strange, faint glow barely glimmered beneath the surface, if only for a second, before vanishing, the pattern indecipherable. She was certainly the child of her parents, that much was obvious, and she certainly seemed proud of it.

Head still high, the Crystal strode confidently forward, curiously inspecting the Candidates and looking for her bonded. There were quite a few left but she wasn't concerned. She had, of course, saved the best for last. Thankfully the chaos of the Hatching had winded down enough for her to be fully appreciated, eyes following her every movement as she stepped gracefully towards the line of humans, anxious and nervous, their eyes on her just as hers were on them. Some were not quite so...confident as she was. Some seemed to be falling to pieces, in fact, and her gaze lingered upon one in particular who was curled up in pain and fear, dejected upon the sands. Of course.

With a soft huff, the Crystal changed her pace, not at all pausing in her adjusted course as it took her right in front of her chosen, hissing a warning at those around for them to back off as she crouched next to the girl. Concern colored the Crystal's features as she bent her head to nudge gently at her bonded’s shoulder, a gentle croon rising in her throat as she did so. "Calm yourself, my dear," she urged, keeping her fluted voice low and urgent, trying to impart some decency into her rider. "Your Telluria is here now. Come, we must get you fixed up. You are hurting," she continued, trying to wedge her muzzle under the girl and lift her to her feet. She turned slightly to present her shoulder to the girl, the bismuth-like crystal there glittering as proof, urging her rider back to reality. Telluria's gaze flicked towards her parents with concern, already unsure of what to do, what default acerbic derision she had been about to fall back onto lost at the pain of her bonded. There had to be something she could do.
