Character Number- 2nd
Name- Blayke Blakivar Lafrial Nickname- Blak
Age- 23 Years
Gender- Male
Sexuality- Bisexual [Prefers men.]
Appearance- - Blakivar has medium length hair that is always in a rough, almost shaggy style. It is thick enough that he is not expected to go bald till well into old age. Despite its appearance though, it is actually as soft as a baby’s hair and is very easy to care for.
The majority of his eyes are a rich chocolate brown color. There is an overcast of lighter brown that seems to intensify the beautifully rippling color affect just under the darker brown; which shimmers golden yellow, appearing to change his eyes into a gorgeous golden amber but this is only clearly visible if you make eye contact with him.
Blakivar’s eyes really are windows to his soul and he is unable to keep them from showing his real emotions. They burn like flames when he is angry but can also appear like two soothing pools of golden water. The warmth they used to show has long since frozen though, and you must catch him at a rare moment of weakness to see it again.
Stand a little under six feet tall and clearly raised to be a handsome noble, Blakivar has a natural tanned appearance to his skin, and impressive muscles that show he had battle training growing up. He is also surprisingly light on his feet, and can move without making a sound if he wished. No one would call him fat or skinny, but he is healthy and lean, where you can see the defined muscles on his stomach. He has the broad shoulders and nice indents on his hips that grab a lady’s attention. Too bad he prefers men if he feels any indication of wanting the warmth of another at all.
There was only ever one physical trait that set him apart from his twin. In the center of Blakivar's lower back, is a pale red-toned birthmark that is shaped like a roughly drawn heart. Honestly Blakivar never liked it being there since it ruined his game of 'Be your twin' when he was young and to this day it marks his most ticklish spot like a bull's eye.
Personality- - There are people who are "normal", those obsessed with either having fun, learning interesting things, or protecting those they care for. There are also some strange people who don't seem to care about anything and seem to be waiting to join the darkness of death again.
Blakivar is none of these.
This young man used to be though, Blayke was exceptionally curious and loyal to his family, especially his twin brother Dragovar. If anyone really sat down and watched, it was almost disturbing how close he was and wanted to be to his brother. Luckily Dragovar never noticed this as more then just a little to clingy.
Now, it can't be denied that to some degree Blakivar is insane. Although you would never know if you just talk to him in passing. In fact Blakivar is perfectly capable of seeming normal, even friendly, when he puts his mind to it. He is the type of person that could convince you that a cat is a dog if he truly wanted to. His silver tongue coats his words in sweet poison, planting seeds of rebellion, doubt, or undying loyalty deep within your mind.
He is a manipulative sociopath with a cocktail of different emotions. He reads the reactions he gets to small insignificant comments and changes his demeanor accordingly. It is a shame that he breathes deception, because he could have been the perfect person to step between a war and sooth the fighting. He will be your every dream and every fantasy till he has a firm grasp on your heart and mind, then play your emotions and movements like a puppet master. This gives him a sick feeling of thrill and accomplishment.
A tragic side of his madness, Blakivar has numbed his heart to little more then ice and stone, meaning he can't feel much in the way of pain but also not in love either. He just feels... empty whenever he tries to remember what it was like to actually have that warm fuzzy feeling inside.
Rank- Dragon Candidate
History- - Father - Sephyr Lafrial [Status: Alive/NPC]
Mother - Shyian Noria [Status: Alive/NPC] Brother - Dragovar Lafrial of Earth Female Fela [Status: Deceased and Tainted]
Shyian was the youngest unwed daughter of the family of doctors, living in the southern desert of Sekkai. She was kindhearted and sweet to anyone she met and just couldn’t understand her family’s snap judgments of people based simply on appearance or where they came from. In fact she had been rather stupid in her youth and tried to run away to show where someone lived didn’t change a person. Lucky they stopped her before she would get lost and die out in the vast desert.
Although her sisters all got married and had children, Shyian just kept rejecting the advances of every male that came to court her, and she kept a safe distance to keep any of them from actually touching her. She had heard of people who mastered the art of seduction and she was determined she was not going to risk falling for such tricks.
Blakivar's father was a traveling nomad that had crossed into the area following a herd of prey during the spring. He didn’t intend of staying long so he didn’t bother to find himself residence in the city, instead just keeping his survival gear with him and slept outside. His hunt had taken a bad turn when he was ambushed by a protective mother chimaera, which was defending her young cubs.
Sephyr managed to escape, but by that point the damage was done. There were deep scratches all over him and he couldn’t possibly heal it all himself. He struggled to to push himself to the city and get real help from the doctors. As it happened, Shyian was the healer who was treating his wounds, and they got the chance to talk as he slowly recovered from his wounds.
Shyian’s family didn’t like that she was getting close to the hunter, they didn't trust his non-aristocratic appearance and attitude, but they could hardly just refuse to heal the mauled man when he arrived. If they knew were all this would lead, they would have sent him away to another doctor for treatment.
To prolong her time with the charming hunter, Shyian purposefully healed his less critical wounds more slowly than usual, though she was careful to keep infection and pain at bay to make Sephyr more comfortable. After he was well enough to travel and go back to his normal life, Shyian started meeting him out in the desert for some alone time.
Her family was suspicious at first but after Shyian said Sephyr had left the desert, they let her be for the most part. She still had to do her chores and tend to whatever patients they were treating at the time, but she was allowed free will on how to spend her time outside that. Naturally she spent it with Sephyr, who was still living in the desert.
For many years, this arrangement was good enough for them, but they did often talk about raising a family together despite what her family would think of their union. One good thing about being old enough to called an adult was that you were finally considered mature enough by the general population to make your own choices.
Well, one thing led to another and soon enough Shyian found out she was pregnant.
The pregnancy was normal, and right on schedule Blayke and Dragovar were born.
The twins spent the majority of their childhoods running around and getting into all the trouble they could. They loved being free to do whatever they wanted, with their parents protecting them. Sephyr also gave them whatever they wanted which led to both boys being rather spoiled as they grew up.
They also used their identical appearances to their advantage, though the people that knew them well would know to always check their very subtle differences in behavior. Blayke was always the more excitable one while Dragovar was more serious.
Blayke's clinging nature began to really show around this time too. It was nearly impossible to find one brother without the other.
The two boys were about fifteen when Dragovar started to push away from his more hyper brother, setting his sights on some greater destiny that Blayke didn't care to understand. All Blayke knew was that he didn't want his brother to leave him, and was willing to do almost anything to keep him firmly by his side. It was strange, because even as Blayke tried it would almost seem to push his twin farther away, and his attempts to bond with someone else did land him a boyfriend for a time but it wasn't quite the connection he wanted.
He didn't like having to stay within the boundaries of other people's wants and needs. What about his needs? His wants? They all seemed to think he would just back down from something if they asked. It was hard to do this, but Blayke managed whenever it was his own brother, and he forced a smile onto his face all the while.
Of course this bitterness toward being pushed around never left, it never even became an offense Blayke could shrug off. It got to the point he would push back rather harshly if someone pushed him. Then he would start getting into fights over nothing, more so then is normal for a teenage boy. It didn't take long for him to discover a trick though. Fighting was needlessly mindless, and caused unnecessary injury, but words could do more then muscle ever could if phrased right. Why should he end up bruised and hurting when he could get others to do the fighting for him?
Of course the only person in the way of this was Dragovar, the noble twin didn't like his brother turning into, as he phrased it, manipulative scum. He tried to get Blayke to let all the built up anger out at once so that it would not poison his mind anymore, but the efforts only seemed to give that anger claws. Those claws only served to anchor the hate and tear new wounds in his psyche. This only served to push him farther into the darkness, for now Blayke could see his own brother trying to control him.
Blayke would not be controlled! By his brother, family, friends, lover, or anyone!
Blayke left home as soon as he was old enough, wanting some distance from the suffocating affection his parents tried to control him with. He would not allow himself to be controlled but the only way to keep from this was to make sure he controlled those he was around. Of course he couldn't just bully them into submission, that never worked and only made a mess. No, instead Blayke spent his time learning to read the subtle changes in expressions and movement that the people around him made whenever he spoke to them. He learned to recognize how to pick up on subjects they enjoyed and avoid the ones that made them bitter, well unless the situation required him to coddle their egos a little.
Blayke was twenty when his world finally closed itself off from the world others live in. His last ties to it were severed completely. It started as a happy occasion though, his brother had bonded to a slender female Earth dragon, Fela. This actually managed to make Blayke genuinely happy, as it made Dragovar happy. Even when feeling so distant from his brother, Blayke was still very loyal and wanted his brother's happiness. But if he had known then how this would end, he would have killed that dragon while she was still a baby, it would have been a mercy to them all.
Several months after bonding, something was decidedly wrong with how Fela acted. Blayke tried to ignore it but not long after that, he got word that Dragovar had been killed by the earth dragon, who had finally gone mad from the Taint.
Blayke felt so shocked that he felt little else for the first few weeks while the news sank in. His twin was gone because of that tainted dragon. His own dragon! Whatever was left of the happy and energetic Blayke disappeared in those weeks. All he could think of how pleasant it would be to carve that earth dragon's eyes out with a sharp stone, not even a blade. A blade with make it to clean!
There was only thing that he could not think around to avoid the obvious solution. There was no way he could fight a earth dragon on his own. He hardly as big as a single one of Fela's talons last time he saw her. He needed a dragon as well, to at least distract her teeth and claws while he blinded and killed her.
There was also the perks of how high standing dragons were in the world. The young man couldn't help but consider how nice it would be to be the new ruler of the whole world, it was such a sweet thought on his tongue. And he wouldn't even need to take it by force, no no, he would just need to make the current leaders into his personal puppets. Who really ruled an empire anyway, the leader or the one who had enough charisma to twist the leader?
Yes. He would be a dragonrider, then all his goals would suddenly be more plausible.
But, such a thing was not what his family would want Blayke to do. His childhood name suddenly seemed... not his own. It was connected to a much softer being who could not hurt a fly. All the strength and charm Blayke had, had belonged first to Dragovar.
Blayke. Dragovar.
He would be Blakivar!
