Her feet were aching, the wraps they were bound within tattered and the skin beneath them torn. The muddied streets that were treaded upon did little to ease the ache, only giving way to stinging sensations. Finding herself once more among the decrepit stone blocks, no matter how far she traveled. Somehow she had always found her way back, though it was never much of a welcomed sight. Crowded with those seeking refuge, crime running rampant as blood was spilt. One would suppose she should have been used to it, this was where she had been raised after all; among the crime and filth. After all she would still be counted among the numbers of cutthroats. She had been raised within that life, albeit she had quite the misfortune of sticking out. Though she supposed playing the damsel in distress at times outweighed that issue in particular.

Especially now as she stuck to the shadows, covered in dirt from head to toe. The woman stuck out like a sore thumb, she was paler than most and her eyes were especially strange. The rags she wore were even more in shambles than they had been before, exposing a great deal of her soft, frail looking, pale skin. Though it wasn't entirely time to change them just yet. As far as she was concerned she could wear them until they unraveled and fell onto the ground beneath her. Though a bit of a shy and timid woman, she would travel stark naked if she had to. At least until she could makeshift herself a new garb or two.

The pale woman gave a moments pause to rest her weary body among the number of dirtied stones. Her pale lavender eyes scanning as much around her as she could pick up as the day slowly gave way into night. It was always good to stay on your toes. Especially in places like this and now a days it was fairly easy to be caught unawares. So pale and seemingly fragile, it wouldn't be much of a surprise to the woman if she became something of a target. However she was not at want to be one of the bloodied bodies that would be left broken and littering the cold ground. A good enough reason for her to stay as invisible as she possibly could. Still that task in itself was quite difficult, at least at this particular moment.

Though her mind wandered, purely out of nostalgia of course. Wondering if her adoptive family was fairing well. Yet even then she could never be sure they were still alive, fellow thieves and the like were even at each others throats sometimes. Heaving a heavy sigh, the woman reached down to rub at her aching feet. There wasn't much else she could do at the moment, she supposed. At least not until she was able to secure some new bandages. Some blood began collecting itself upon her finger tips, still fresh from newly opened cuts. In other places upon her feet, the blood was dry. Old cuts healing as some were being ripped anew. The blood of which she wiped upon the tattered fabric of her clothing. . As it became dark however she knew she could not stay outside for long, not that she couldn't deal with it. She was fond of cold and chill nights, especially when the sky was clear. Yet the wind does quite the number on a frail warm body.

The tent city had been steadily depleting its over abundant amount of families since the extensive victory of the Sekkaians. It didn't stop it from being a more grungy area, with dirt paths made by many footfalls and the poorest of the poor still lingering desperately to the outer walls of Lihn. These were the people too poor to move own, who barely had enough food to last them the week let alone to last them a move. It was one of the few things that held anyone back from leaving the messy remnants of a once over crowded colony. And as such, it still needed regulation, guards, and extra precautions to be set. Tainted humans could easily disguise themselves as weak, poor people like these, slide into the city and gain closer access to the Academy...

And tonight it was Karma Galileo and his rider Skad who were patrolling. They had spent the day flying among Lihn, landing only at suspicious activity. Most of it was nothing of interest, a thief here, an over bearing beggar there, but it was night when the most action stirred up. Skad was on fire for it, but Galileo was anxious. He was still an introverted creature by nature, preferring small groups of company, or time on his own, to the many crowds of the city. And the threat of potential attack made him at even more of an unease.

"Galileo, you're a big boy dragon now," Skad chided, walking at a quicker pace to keep up with his dragons larger footfalls. "And you're like. Fifty feet tall at your crown, and very long, and you can take on whatever the tainted could throw at you. I don't know why you're so uneasy."

"The night is normally my ally, my time for peace, for thinking while you sleep," Galileo chided. His nature as a Karma was nocturnal, but his rider was not. "I dislike my peace, my palace of thought, to be hindered with dark intent."

"So, you're not scared of the dark, you're just... Scared. of the dark?"

Galileo sighed loudly, bumping his leg into the human gently.

"No. I suppose I'm scared of what may reside in the dark, when I'm not in the sanctity of the Academy..." He mused. He disliked the term fear, or being afraid of things. But he had to be honest with himself. There was a fear inside him...

"Don't worry, Gali," Skad replied. "If there are things out there, you could take 'em."

"Thank you for your encouragement and support but-" Galileo stopped suddenly, head perking up and freezing in his path. He smelled a sanguine aroma, and could see ahead, a ghostly figure. She seemed more like an apparition than a human, whispy and pale... Skad was about to open his mouth to ask why he had stopped, when he saw her too.

Without hesitation, he bolted forward, Galileo scoffing his actions before trotting forward as well, hoping not to spook her by getting too close.

"H-hey," Skad said, slowing his steps and kneeling by her. She was barely clothed, with foot wraps thin and bleeding... Had she been traveling. "I'm Skad, and this is Galileo, my dragon. Do you need help?"

Spooked? No, not Marble, but startled would have been a more acceptable term. There hadn't been enough time, at least her reaction wasn't fast enough to stand. The ghostly young woman could only shove herself backwards and away, most likely into one of the hard stony structures. Initially she might have ran, or she might have put up her fists, but she was far too tuckered out to put up a fight. The gaze of her pale, lavender orbs shifting between the man and the towering creature that accompanied him. There was nothing, but silence at least upon her end.

A dragon? Yes of course, she had seen quite a few on her travels. Though at most times she knew to keep her distance, powerful and dangerous creatures they were. Yet some had some horribly odd traits and mannerisms. This was her first time viewing one this close up however and boy was he colossal. The only thing she had been able to do now was stutter, almost as if she had been in a state of shock. It was brief and then she fell silent, lowering her gaze away from both the man and his companion and back to the ground beneath her.

The young and ghostly woman pulled the tattered cowl, back over her head and mouth. It had been shaken loose earlier in her travels. Marble wasn't very good with people, whether it was out of dislike or just pure shy, unfamiliarity with proper socialization. "Marble.." was the only thing that managed to pry itself out of her pale, pink lips. The young woman supposed she could use some help, not that she would accept it so willingly. Even though the man seemed nice enough and his dragon was really cool. The least she could let them have right now, was her name and maybe a single nod of her head.

The girl was caught somewhat off guard, looking to Skad and Galileo with curious eyes and drawing the shawl over her face and head. She didn't say anything initially, watching Galileo with interest. He shuffled his feet a little, still not overly fond of being stared at. Being a karma, he had to be used to it, however. He was a rarity, one of two - soon to be three - Karmas in the Academy. But her eyes soon fell to the ground after only a few long minutes. When she finally spoke and responded to Skads question, it was a slow nod and a single word.

"Marble?" Skad repeated, tilting his head. "Is that your name? Well, Marble, if you need help, we would be more than glad to offer assistance. It's not particularly safe out here at night.. Let us buy you some proper clothes and maybe a place to spend the night."

((SORRY ITS SO SHORT ;a;))

(( S'ok bab, mine too!))

"T-the only name I have.." she wrung her hands nervously, still avoiding direct eye contact for now. In her shock of being caught off guard she had nearly forgotten the ache of her torn skin. A feeling which the young woman wasn't too fond of, not that most people were. It was something she had become accustomed to at least, so she never fret over it too much as long as she was able to tend to it. The pale woman however did feel it best to tend to her injuries soon.

Finally she brought her eyes away from the ground, making direct contact with the man, or well she would have if she wasn't too busy actually focusing on his much larger companion. It hadn't taken her very long to make her decision, his offer seemed genuine enough. After all it wasn't that she was afraid of being left here or anything, but a decent place to sleep would be nice. She could handle herself well enough despite her delicate and fragile appearance. That's what she would boast at least, after all this dreary place had been her home for many years.

"Fine, but no funny business. You got that mister?" Her words were firm and given mostly as a warning, but underneath them a hint of playfulness and half teasing. Slowly the ghostly woman pulled herself away from the corner that she had nearly shoved herself in, albeit still a bit leery of the both of them. Nose scrunching out of irritation, though if it was from the thought of new company or the aching of her feet was difficult to discern. All in all she was rather surprised anyone paid much attention to her to begin with.
