So sayeth the Spider
Character Number- Adoption slot #3

Name- Thana Yavetz

Age- 27

Gender- female

Sexuality- heterosexual

Appearance- Thana seems to have come from odd stock. Her skin is a light brown tone, but her hair is light dusty red and oddly straight. She wears it in a tight ponytail or braid most of the time unless she is trying to appear more alluring whereas then she will let it down. Her eyes are also odd in color; brown but a reddish brown that at times can seem more red than anything. These large eyes often hold a look of softness unless angered when her pupils will shrink and one can see the fiery rage within them.

Thana is of medium height at 5’4 and is thin but with hard muscles thanks to her life of hard work surviving off what she killed or foraged as well as near constant stress and lack of comforts. Also from sheer determination to stay attractive enough to gain the attention of men she desires. Though she is more wiry & muscular than curvy as her life seems to have stunted puberty to some degree. That’s not to say she is not attractive, just plain. But she is not what one would call voluptuous or beautiful. Her most attractive feature is her face. Soft features with her fierce expressive eyes and shining red hair tend to capture enough interest.

In the choice of dress she has two modes; alluring or comfortable. Both tend to be tight as she prefers that while hunting for food anyhow to avoid getting caught up. But of course when out looking for men she tends to reveal what she can but she tries to keep it tasteful since she has a higher opinion of herself than warranted. So silk and other thin fabrics come into play there but comfortable can be anything. The color red seems to dominate her wardrobe and it suits her well. Her Crystal is currently within the handle of her favorite dagger which she keeps either on her belt or in her leather boots.

Personality- violent, hyper, bullheaded, dominating
Let’s just say Thana was lucky she was not forced out on her own until after she learned essential basic skills such as reading and writing among other necessities. It helped fuel her need to stay a step ahead from her oppressors and develop a fierce will to live. Since she was forced out at 8 years old by her father, Thana developed bitterness inside that began to transform her, but she used it well to her needs. This ensured she had a very passionate personality. When Thana decides on what she wants to do, she tears into the task with determination and vigor. Unfortunately, this can also result in dangerous anger if she fails to get what she wants.

Indeed Thana can have a frightening temper. Which of course developed after years of pent up anger and hatred. That is not to say she has no control! On the contrary, when she must she has exceptional control when she is playing a part or doing what she must to benefit her best. However, when pushed too far or when simply expressing herself or hell when she just wants to, she will explode into a fierce, loud, and at times violent volcano of fury. Redundant as it sounds, it is accurate. It is this that has in several instances, turned her into a rapist. Something you would not guess by looking at her, but Thana is more than able to overpower a man if she chooses to. But she is only able from sheer adrenalin and ferocity, for despite her gusto, Thana is not that great a fighter, she just thinks she is. Should she face up to a real fighter, Thana may not come out of it so well.

This is perhaps a hint to her somewhat addictive personality as well. Growing up Thana had to grasp and hold onto any pleasures in life she could. Her favorites include sex, music, clothes, and any luxuries she can obtain. Satin silk fabric being one of them. She loves wearing it and sleeping on it so she has a bit of a collection going on. Her love of sex has also ensured she take as good care of her body as possible staying fit and healthy so she can endure it for long periods and even take control if a man gets too rough with her. So it is safe to say Thana is a bit of a health nut, her years of rationing her food have helped with this.

Her brothers fear she may have some form of mental illness. Not one that affects her intelligence, though, far from it, Thana is dangerously intelligent! But one that affects her morale as well as feed her violent streak. They are reluctant to label Thana as bad or evil, but she is clearly a bit selfish in the way she often puts her needs first and is certainly not above killing people. Granted for the most part she kills those who would harm her of the few people she cares about (her brothers), but there is no denying she enjoys killing. For it feeds another one of her pleasures, power. After being forced to be powerless for so long, Thana revels in controlling others to get just what she wants. The fear is that this may feed her madness as well.

While she can be quite the savage, Thana is able to feel pity and caring for people and animals who are being neglected and treated as she was. However, this tends to lead to her seeking out whoever is doing it to teach them a painful lesson. But other than that she takes little notice of those around her unless someone gets in her way or whatnot. Thana seems to be in her own little bubble but there are ways in and out luckily. There is hope for her yet, it just may take a lot of work to fix her many problems.

Rank- Dagger

History- Thana was born into poor odds in her favor. She was the first female born into her little family that lived in a rather isolated cottage in the back woods of Northern Nyushi. Having three brothers before her, and a father who felt girl children were useless, her only hope for survival was her mother. For her father, upon seeing the gender of their newest child, instructed his wife to get rid of it. But Thana’s mother refused, arguing that the girl could still be of use as she grew. This began the series of unfortunate events for Thana.

Her father basically ignored her for the most part unless the girl made too much noise or otherwise disturbed his routine in anyway. In these situations, her mother had to keep her close so as not to receive any harm. And she was successful for a while. Luckily, two of Thana’s brothers also took to caring for her and even taught her what they could as she grew behind their father’s back. By the time Thana was seven years old, she knew how to forage for food and even set traps for animals. And this was very fortunate because shortly before Thana turned eight years old, her mother died. While none of the children saw what had occurred, and their father claimed she died of illness, they could not help but wonder. For recently their father had been demanding for another son but their mother refused to even try after how Thana was treated and things had been very tense.

So it was no surprise to Thana that right after her mother’s death, her father drove her from the home. For a young girl would do them no good. When Thana at first refused to leave, her father came at her threatening to kill her so she bolted out into the woods with what little clothes she could carry. That night, however, one of her brothers found her huddled in a bush and led her to an old shack on the land that nobody ever used. They were able to set it up to make it livable and he then instructed her that she would need to survive on her own but that he and her other kinder sibling would help. And so they did. Taking her with them on hunting trips when their father was not present and teaching her all they could.

Her third brother, however, was a tad apprehensive and was more on their father's side. A deal was reached that he would go off hunting on his own and bring back more food and therefore more favor with their father so long as he left Thana alone and kept their secret. Sadly, the boy used this to blackmail them and get more of what he wanted. But despite the tension and distrust, he stayed silent. And this went on for several more years until Thana was fifteen.

By then luckily the girl had grown into a very skilled hunter. Being forced to live in the woods had forced her to hone her skill and stealth. Had she been a male, Thana would have been the favorite child. Her little shack of a home was now kept warm with furs and she always had enough food. She even preserved much and grew some of her own vegetation in times when game would be scarce. But of course, things could not continue this way forever. One night, her one less caring brother and a friend had gotten drunk and the friend it seemed was looking for a good time. So in a drunken haze, Thana’s brother led him to her.

What happened next was not quite what anyone would expect. Thana fought and fought well. But the larger boy finally forced himself upon her. As he began, Thana stopped her struggling….and began to laugh. When she realized that this was what they wanted from her, she knew she was in control. For having hit puberty a while back, Thana could not exactly go find partners, but she could explore herself and she had long learned about sex from watching nature and had discovered that she had a taste for darker sides of pleasure. So the tables were turned, Thana fought back again and was able to pin the lad painfully down and began to essentially do what he had intended to do to her. This, of course, terrified both young men and they tried to get away. But Thana was now strong and aggressive. She latched onto her victim and would not stop until she was finished. She then proceeded to beat her crueler brother as pay back while his friend curled up in the corner in fear.

Naturally, when the two broken man returned home, Thana’s father forced the truth out of them. He stormed out with intent to kill his only daughter for humiliating the family men. Her other two brothers flew to her defense and indeed a fight ensued. While Thana also tried to fight her father, she knew the second her back was turned her brothers may be in danger and she knew she may have to bargain for their safety unless she killed her father. But first, she proposed to him an offer. If he would leave them all alone, she would travel to town and earn the family money using her own body. Of course, her brothers tried to stop her but the possibility of money had the desired effect on Thana’s father and he agreed.

So for a few years, Thana lived as an escort and indeed she did bring in considerable funds for the household as well as luxuries they were not used to. But Thana wasn’t exactly happy. While yes she enjoyed sex, she could tell nearly all her clients were just like her father. Hated women and saw her only as a pleasure object. Anger and hatred began to brew within her. She got through it by doing as she did before and dominated the men she saw for her own pleasure (letting them do so when she was in that mood). But of course one client tried to fight against her ways and things became violent. Thana killed the man to save her own life. But this snapped something within her. Leaving the body she silently traveled back home. When she arrived, she was again berated by her father even as she threw him the sack of gold she had earned for the day. What happened next is still a little bit of a blur, but Thana knows she killed her father and her more sinister brother.

She and her two remaining brothers buried them the next day. Both of them were now greatly concerned for Thana’s mental state, but their sister seemed to be so relieved and refreshed they kept silent at first. In fact, her happiness seemed to rise greatly now that oppressive forces in her life were gone. But other changes were still seen. Thana had developed an aggressive streak towards many men. While she still gave them the benefit of the doubt at first she always had a critical eye on each one she met. And indeed, she seemed to be on a hair trigger. The second someone said something that angered her, Thana would attack. And often did so with intent to kill. Soon this hidden aggression was not just geared at men but at women as well.

Worried over the dark changes within their sister, Thana’s two brothers sat her down and discussed her options in life. It was clear they wanted her to go to the Academy, but Thana, upon learning of their rules and order (which of course her brothers felt would benefit her greatly) she refused. Much to their dismay. Thana was determined to stay as wild and free as possible, letting nobody control her ever again. However, Thana also wanted more strength and personal power. And she saw a good way to get that was bonding to a dragon. Her brothers had warned her that the Tainted forces were under the control of Nidhogg and so Thana did not exactly care for that either. So, as much as it maddened her, she stayed put to ponder and just try to help ensure her brother’s easy living. Though they did not approve of her prostitution, so Thana spent more time hunting for food and only walked the streets when they needed a little extra money (usually trying to do so in secret from her brothers)

At the age of 19, it happened. Out on a long hunting trip thanks to oddly scarce game lately, Thana was ambushed. Snatched up by a surprisingly fast tainted dragon. Her brothers learned of her fate when they went looking for her and found her tracks ended in a patch of forest badly damaged. Thana pretty much thrashed and screamed the whole trip (even once wriggling loose before the dragon had to swoop down to catch her again). However, this just sealed the deal as they liked her spunk. The Tainted rider assured her that this was the life and sang a sweet song of anarchy and fighting that was music to her ears.

She was all but flung in front of the eggs. Her red-brown eyes hungrily taking them in. She prayed for something unstoppable, and when a small Lightning hatching presented himself to her, she was unsure at first. She knew them to be a smaller breed but the dragon’s hellish eyes and proclamation of being a demon convinced her that they could be a very worthwhile team. Soon she did learn that Etrigan would be the voice of reason among them. He seemed to have his own code he followed which while annoying to her, she accepted. He also proved to be a sort of soothing sensation to her temper and madness which helped keep her alive in many situations. He was also a fearsome fighter. More than making up for his size (even though he grew to the maximum for his breed), as well as his deadly speed and red lightning attacks, suited her to a T making them a formidable pair.

Since Nidhogg was defeated and the control of the Tainted influence gone, Thana was thrilled to have even more freedom back than before. Etrigan was as well but for different reasons. He wanted to simply live his life free and rest whereas Thana wanted to go out and raise hell. This has caused some tension between the two but they seem to exist well enough so long as Thana simply has her fun without it coming to violence. But deep down Etrigan has his own violent storm but it takes a bit to bring it out.

Pet(s)- none yet but she’s always wanted one. She was wise enough to know she could not care for another life while her own was on the edge

Very muscular for a lightning, Etrigan is an impressive specimen with a deep chest and his muscled limbs. When grown Etrigan will nearly be the maximum size for his breed, with his shoulders at 15 feet and his body stretching to 60 feet, Etrigan will be a force to be reckoned with. He takes traits from both parents, his short square face from his mother and his red markings from his Sekkaian father. Also inherited from his Ruin mother is a special addition to his ability. His spit is basically flammable. It is a slightly similar (if gooie) makeup of her gas, which is normally very flammable. So with caution, he could use it along with his lightning ability to use it basically like napalm. But this is a dangerous trick and he is working on perfecting it.

His face is very much like his Ruin mother's, short with a square jaw but that is where the similarities end. His snout is slanted and mouth has a natural downward pull making him look like he’s in a constant state of mild irritation when his face is relaxed. His eyes are a bright red in color lacking a pupil, with black markings around them giving him a devilish look. Starting just above his eyes are his grey spires, with dangerously pointed tips and curves. Though smooth to the touch, Gan has a constant flow of crackling electricity bouncing between them that also protect his crystal. As previously mentioned his crystal is planted squarely between his largest set of horn-spires. Long and skinny his crystal is a bright pink-orange at the center before fading to white at the many branch-like tips and looks strikingly like heat lightning.

His body is a mix of three colors, the majority of him divided between a dusty gold and a rust red. Gan’s face down to the front of his chest are a dusty gold, along with the lower parts of his legs and his underbelly starting just behind his chest and continuing part way down his tail. The rest of his body, however, is the rust red in color which he got from his father. It begins in stripes along the back of his neck before going down and sweeping over his chest, shoulders, and back before sliding down to cover the upper parts of his limbs and turning into stripes once more over the dusty gold. The red covers the entirety of his tail, right down to the base of the devilish blade. Stripes of a ghostly white cover the back of his neck, his back and sides as well as the end of his tail where there are also dusty gold stripes over the red.

Running down his neck to his tail are grey spires, very much like those upon his head. However these are dull tipped, curving back, Gan uses them to store energy and so they are quite hot to the touch, able to leave second-degree burns from the slightest contact (Luckily Thana is safe from this and has a wide enough space to sit on his shoulders). These energy-filled spires are also along the elbows of his forelegs, curving up to his body like a wreath made of thorns.
His wing-arms are also well muscled so they might lift him into the air with thick leathery wing membranes the underside are the dusty gold color while the top side is red, with white striped. His wing talon is sharp and curved, used for digging into things and holding on.

Etrigan has more muscle than is usually seen on a Lightning dragon, with it being easily visible in his chest, forelegs and hind quarters. Because of this, he appears larger and more threatening and is able to heft quite a bit a weight despite his size. Though not as easily seen, his tail also has a good amount of muscle which gives it a deadly swing coupled with the serrated blade on the end that has high amounts of voltage being fed into it.

Personality- honor bound, stark, fearless

Despite being a Tainted dragon, Ertigan has a moral code he follows. Though not too strict he follows it closely. As such he refuses to fight someone already injured or beaten, or cause them more pain unless they ask him for death, which he sees as a kindness and a release from their horrid world plagued by death and deceit. He is not one to sneak around behind people's backs, nor one to turn on someone he has allied himself with-- if he's going to kill you he'll do it straight to your face. He refuses to harm pure innocents such as children or loving parents with young, but anyone out of those categories he sees as fair game. Also in his code, if he gives his word on something he will follow through, no matter the cost. Because of his code, many Tainted see him as weak, but he would prefer to be a weak fool than a treacherous and untrustworthy snake.

Gan prefers to get straight to the point, rather than beating around the bush and is quite blunt. He speaks his mind and is not afraid to say anything he thinks needs to be said or is worth saying. He ends up stepping on a lot of toes and hurting feelings but he'd rather be honest than a liar. Whenever he says something it is good to know that he means it, he does not insult people out of spite but rather because it is truly something he feels. He will however on occasion try and trick someone into telling him the truth. Not by lying, but by trying to catch them in a lie. Indeed he is very clever. And knows when to quit for sure, he knows better than to tangle with a Lava, Bulkhead, or Earth dragon. But he would attempt to fool them rather than just all out attack and get killed for stupidity.

When it comes to death and killing, Etrigan considers death a release from their world filled with strife and sickness. Though he considers death a blessing, and a good thing he is hesitant to kill, and dislikes doing so without reason (which sadly Thana often provides by getting into trouble). Though when in battle he viewed himself little more than a tool, an extension of the Tainted lord, and only doing his will. Hence his relief when Nidhogg was defeated, but of course now he has to try and keep Thana out of trouble even more as any taste of freedom tends to mean binges for her. He has no real desire to seek out confrontations, but they seem to find his rider much to his annoyance. But he protects her mostly out of pity, as he knows her past and what has made her this way. While he himself can be terrifying and violent, he tends to need more reason than Thana. Though give him any amount of reason and he will bring hell down to the best of his ability. Fore yes while suave and intelligent, Etrigan is indeed a demon inside. When his temper is flared, it is a force to be reckoned with.

Hatching scene

Quote:

One after another, the dark children rose from their eggshell tombs with crashes, with bangs and splinters and shearing noises.  They rose, as if breaking free to life from the listless death within.  They chose to break free into chaos with chaos.  But chaos, like any other driving force, needed another, an opposite movement to keep it in balance.  And so, order would need to be born along with entropy.

However, the simplicity of the idea was not as well put into action as it was thought up.  Instead of the well timed, well executed maneuvers to deftly show the new hellions to the light of day, the rocking, pleading eggs still itched and bit and broke.  And, from within the shell of one of the more well protected cases, the damned child bided his time to make things just as right as they should have been.  The mother, who’s revenent arms encircled the young shape with a protective barrier, bore a discerning eye to those around her, as well as to that which lay to her long fingers.  The child was his, surely, but, would such breeding aim to hinder or hold up this yet unhatched ghoul?  What would become of this new one?  Would it choose... as the other one had and take one as strange as itself?  Truly, she wasn’t quite sure what to think of Yuurei and his … choice, but, he was still her son, and even one of her own breed.  Deep inside, she had a certain love for him, but, he had yet to truly prove himself to her jaded misgivings.  This one, though, so similar in conception, had been truly different from the start and, now, perhaps it would continue to draw her curiosity.  She would have smiled, if she could have, when she felt the pressing paws beneath the calcium made cage.

Within, the child, having found his way, began his edit and entrance.  The outside of the shell sparked with energy and forced the mother to recoil with the unexpected show.  Inside, however, the young one lined up for a single, proper execution.  For a moment, it stood in silence, but, with a powerful strike, a sharpened blade brought the egg to two separate, equal halves.  And thus, the child of the red Zeus and the spectre brought himself forth with perfectly executed order.  Unlike some of the other tentative children, this glinting lightning hatchling made no effort to even perceive hesitance in his muscles as he pushed aside the doors of his useless cage.  And he strode out, eyes glowing like coals from hell within dark, deep shadowed sockets.

Geist’s electric child was a rippling display of musculature.  He had a large, square jaw set upon a long neck, but his forearms and chest and legs were taught with massive amounts of potent fiber and coiled power.  Even his tail was thick and able and it ended in a half serrated blade like the business end of an axe or halberd.  His face, neck, and underbelly were a dulled, tarnished golden, but, his upper arms and back and tail were a deep, rusted red, in mention of his sekkian father.  His mother was obviously seen in his flattened face, but, her ghostly mentions were also seen in dappled white stripes along his body.  Even the spires of his horns and spines seemed to be old and dull, like those of a well worn, ghastly weapon.

With his red wings tucked and folded, the creature made its way through the useless masses, but, instead of bursting through like a beast, the tainted child moved as if purposefully giving others a certain right-of-way.  It was strange to see the combination of a sort of bold motion with careful observance.  At last, however, the audacious child found his way home and, no more than a foot and a half long, stood before his chosen as an equal.  He didn’t need to see the crystal to know the choice was right.  To his hellshly glowing sight, however, she seemed to perhaps need... direction.  And he would give her her due, but only if she earned it.

“Gone!  Gone the form of man.”  The deep, growling voice broke from his throat as he stepped closer to the girl.  “Rise, the demon Etrigan!”
