So many reasons why he disliked going near large towns and cities. But perhaps it would be bearable if Thana would keep her damned mouth shut and stop acting out like a damned mongoose. Hell, the only reason the Lightning did not stop his rider from drinking herself to sleep last night was he was hopeful she would be hungover and barely able to function. But ah, no such luck. At the moment she was on his back as he flew singing away in her loud and boisterous way. "Everyday - I try and I try and I try! But everybody wants to put me down They say I'm goin' crazy They say I got a lot of water in my brain Got no common sense I got nobody left to believe!” While it was hard to see if Etrigan was rolling his eyes, one could tell when his eye twitched, which was a sign of severe irritation. And boy was it twitching now. He huffed and swerved to halt in midair but kept his wings beating "ENOUGH!" he hissed. Thana jerked forward a bit and gripped onto the saddle. “Hey what gives?” She demanded. In response Etrigan flew forward again and zoomed to an exceptionally tall pine tree and dug his talons into it as the tree leaned forward. “Seriously, Etrigan, what’s the hold up?” “The hold up is that you are driving me batty, almost as batshit as you. Which isn’t exactly alright seeing as how I am taking you to town which I hate.” He growled before pushing off the tree to land roughly on the ground below. “Because you too often get in some hair-brained situation that I have to get you out of” As he spoke, Thana moved her mouth along with what he said as she had heard this many times. When he noticed this again he snorted in her face. “Why haven’t I eaten you yet?” “Because you love me!” She said and kissed his nose resulting on another snort before he bumped her off his back and she tumbled to the ground. “I just wanna see if there’s any fresh pastries or clothes-“ “Which you don’t need. And I know you will be out looking for some poor bastard to mate with. Your lack of honor astounds me.” He said and she was about to reply but he suddenly wrapped his talons around her head as a clear message to be silent. His hellish red eyes scanned through the trees. “Keep your mouth shut” He whispered “Somebody is near" When her eyes darted about excitedly Etrigan forced himself to ignore her and try and figure out what he was hearing and smelling. |

Ts’akab twirled and twisted in the angry clouds above. It didn’t actually look like it would rain, but he felt more at home there than with the annoyi---than with Rouge at the moment. With his rider in town, he was left to his own devices, usually keeping an eye on the spastic razor. Whether or not they actually got along was another point, but he wasn’t worrying about that now. He hadn’t killed her yet, nor had she tried to kill him either. It could be considered a starting point. Releasing a jolt of electricity, he watched as it shot through the clouds, looking like natural lighting to anyone below. They wouldn’t be able to see him hidden in the dark angry clouds. There wasn’t supposed to be a storm. But Ts’akab wanted one. The elements were all right here for him to do so. So he was just going to take advantage of it. He chuckled to himself, circling and circling within the clouds. Who didn’t love a good storm? He would make it as strong as he could, and then let it wreck havoc on the world below. Perhaps it would make it to Lihn. Perhaps not. Ts’akab wouldn’t follow it that far, sadly. But he would lounge in it’s power. And what glorious power it was. It had no morals, no qualms. It had no mercy for anyone. If it killed, it killed. It felt nothing. It was pure power. Power was what the lightning craved. He craved it. He craved everything he could get his scaly talons on. Since Power over a tainted army didn’t look to be anywhere in the future or gaining rank. Nothing looked to be easy, especially with Byrn and the trio and how they were going about things; he would have to find other things to satisfy himself with. Lots of food, or attention or things. Items. It didn’t sate the greedy lightning whatsoever, but he held it to himself. With Byrn out of his head, he had more quiet time. Time to think. Time to plot. Allies, that was what he needed, they were right. He needed to work with what he had. And so he would. But that was tricky, he feared. Rouge was fickle and Toa blunt and it seemed like everything he did was wrong. Ah well. He hoped this trip would make his Byrn strong, like Bolrock said it would help. He felt no remorse for having killed Byrn and brought him back. He had thought it best, easy and not too terribly messy. It had hurt him yes, but he had finished his task simple and pure. However; in trying to gain more favor with allies, perhaps it wasn’t the best option. Everything came with consequences. To choose the lesser of evils hadn't been hard, nor would it be the last time. This was fixable. The group could learn to work together. He could do it. If only to keep the peace. He snorted, shot a bolt into the sky, and that seemed to do it. The storm started to rage back. Lightning flashed around him, thunder rolled. He vibrated, humming with the intent. The noise. The delicate anger of the storm. That of which was him. Oh wasn’t this delicious. Then came the rain below. Anyone or anything caught blow would have to run and hide. He snorted and then dove out of the storm his magnificent wings beating down upon the rain. He flew over the canopy of the forest, the storm still over him, His green eyes sparkled with the mirth as he flew.Thunder boomed behind him, and natural lightning lighted his path. He didn’t really expect to see anyone out near where the two dragons were camped out, for the most part, but he tilted his head as the sound of someone...singing suddenly caught his attention. Harumphing as he flew, the storm slowly behind him now, (but now longer hiding it’s approach) he flew over the other dragon’s area, looking down. It would be easy for the other dragon to tell his element. He crackled with electricity, his mane swimming with it. Shots of it circled his body, before he eyed the other. Interesting. Who were they? He had not seen them around, and it would do him good to know who was lurking around this area--for his sake anyways. Byrn might not appreciate others wandering into the area they had hidden out in. With a hum, he landed. Of course, they dragon was hearing -him- coming about. He wasn’t being too quiet about it. With as much grace as the green dragon could manage he landed in front of the other dragon. He shook his wings out, water flinging everywhere, but he didn’t care. It didn’t take long for the element to subside in his mane and he smiled, his lips curling around his tusks awkwardly. “Well, what do we have here?” He asked, taking up a non-threatening pose. They needed allies, perhaps these two would be willing? His eyes scanned the red-russet dragon. Fierce metal horns protruded from his head and spines followed that. His attention swept to the female rider. Blair might have a problem, but he was sure Byrn could convince her that, if they needed allies, they couldn’t afford to discriminate. Her red hair seemed to meld with her tan skin. She was definitely lighter than Bolrock, but still had that darker tone. OF course, he had no idea if they were sekkain or tainted, and likewise, they didn’t know if he was tainted or not. If all came to worse, he could merely kill them. But he didn’t want the fight or trouble that would cause him. “What brings you out this far towards lihn….Or are you leaving it?” He could not hide the disgust he held for Lihn, or the academy--it was there in his tone. But that was all it was pointed out on. If they read between the lines, he was asking if they were sekkain or tainted. He offered nothing of himself, yet. And they couldn’t assume he was sekkain or tainted, even though they saw no rider dismount. Byrn was rather occupied at the moment, and in town himself. There was no need to try and fetch him for a confrontation like this. He could handle himself and surely Rouge would back him up if there was a fight to come of it. With patience, he curled his tail (unlike most of his kin, he held no blades on his tail, only the same rough quills that ran down his own spine, starting at the top of his head.) The occasional sparks jumped between quills; but it was only to be expected, the sound of the storm behind them gave them a clue to as what he had just been doing. But he didn’t seem to care if they were going to get soaked by the approaching clouds. He was already wet from it himself. His expression was of neutrality, of calmness. He could not potentially have allies if he appeared to be hostile or intended harm. No. That would not due. |

Etrigan’s muscles all tensed as he scanned, listened, and scented the area. Oh damn it all! He had been distracted in scolding his rider and he had not paid his usual attention t where he was landing. Already he could tell he was in an area very recently used by at least two dragons and their riders. The smells weren’t overpowering but it was enough to tell him said dragons were here recently and may come back. One scent, though the faintest, told him a Lava or a Bulkhead may have been here. He suppressed a hiss but Thana felt him tense. “What is it-“ She began but he hushed her again, thankful that she at least listened when he was being serious. There was a smell of Metal as well and his eyes picked up the glint of something stuck in a tree. Stretching his long neck to get a better look, it appeared to be the quill from a Razor. Etrigan blinked, he was not sure which was worse to bump into out here, Sekkaians or Taints. But then his head whipped up towards the sky. He could feel what was happening deep within him before any sign became visible above. A storm was forming. And he knew of only one creature that could do that this quickly. “Woah, I didn’t know you summoned a storm” Thana said looking at the sudden merging of clouds. “I didn’t. There is another Lightning dragon doing that. We best be leaving just to be safe” “Aw come ON it’s just another Lightning! What’s the worst that could happen?” She asked. Etrigan winced. “Every time you ask me that, something terrible usually does happen” He growled and narrowed his hellish red eyes skyward. Ah yes, there! He could make out a darker colored dragon emerging and within a moment it was coming closer. Etrigan growled. “Thana, you best be wise enough to listen to me. Keep quiet unless you plan on being polite and stay behind my forelegs is that clear? At least until I know it is safe” He knew running now would just make the other chase them. Best try and resolve this peacefully unless fighting was necessary. Thana sighed “Fine. But I think you’re over reacting” Again Etrigan’s eye twitched. But he composed himself well as the other dragon landed before them. Ah yes indeed this was a Lightning. But Etrigan noted that he had a mane of fine quills instead of spines and blades like much of his kin. Which obviously still held quite the spark. But he also could see that this male was younger than himself, perhaps only a year at best. While he looked formidable and sinister, it was not yet clear if he was Sekkaian or Tainted. But Etrigan saw no rider so that could be a decent clue if his rider was no more, but he could still smell humans on him. Several in fact. “Well, what do we have here?” The other asked. Etrigan was glad he saw him take a non threatening pose and tone. “What brings you out this far towards Lihn….Or are you leaving it?” Etrigan eyed the sparks dancing in his mane, indeed this fellow had created the storm. But he saw the other eyeing him and Thana with a calculating look in his eyes that Etrigan did not care for. So far Thana had remained quiet (oh thank the gods above), and so he finally spoke. “Nice weather work” Etrigan said briefly acknowledging the storm. “We are only passing through as my rider desires to go to Lihn briefly” He emphasized briefly and Thana scowled. “I apologize, I did not intend to land in any territory, it was a rare mistake on my part” His pupiless eyes were an asset as he was glancing about making sure the suspected Razor and Bulkhead were no near. But he focused on Ts’akab again, knowing he needed to know what was going on. “I admit, you are a new face among the soldiers of our breed. Who are you and are you Tainted or Sekkaian If you do not mind me asking? Fear not I hold no bias unless given just cause” He was still smelling for any extra information. Yes the human scent on him was strong enough that his rider must not be too far off, perhaps in the city, but it was that smell that made him uneasy. Almost as if he should worry about the rider more than the dragon. To keep tempers fair, he offered his information first. “I am Etrigan, and this is my rider, Thana” At this Tana waved to Ts’akab by her dragon’s leg “Hiya! Hey where is your rider?” She said a bit too perky for Etrigan’s taste and he nudged her back again gently as a reminder and swore under his breath. “Forgive her, she is hyperactive and does not think before speaking” he said. At this Thana scoffed and playfully punched his back leg which Etrigan barely felt. |

Green eyes watched the other dragon, and merely smiled when he commented about the weather work. It had been something to pass the time with, and not something he had really been thinking about. But he let the other compliment him as he would. He rose an eyebrow when he said that he was of the same breed; which suited the lightning just fine, really. Another lightning. Oh joy. He felt no special kinship with others of his breed, really. There was no need. He held back a snort when he said landing in territory. Ts’akab had claimed none, neither had rouge, or Toa. The fact that they lingered in a place that had previously mattered little. “We do not own any territory out here, you are not truly trespassing. Our camp is farther from this place.” Ts’akab admitted. “We are merely staying here as needed” The roll of thunder made Ts’akab feel lighter and giddy. When things were out of control, it calmed him to know he had control of something at least. Even if it was just the mere weather. He shuffled his wings again. “I am Ts’akab. And we are far from sekkain as you could get. I would die laughing to even think of my rider as a sekkain. It would be the most humorous thing. As much as he’s wanted.” He left out Blair and Bolrock. There was no need to drag them into this yet. He flashed his crystal--cracked and broken from when he had shocked his rider and killed him. “Etrigan, and Thana. Interesting. A pleasure to meet you.” He feigned interest when he was slowly getting bored. The other didn’t seem to interesting and Ts’akab didn’t care to try and push buttons. He snorted when Thana asked her question. “My rider is in town. I do not know if he’ll be joining us.” It was true. Byrn had no way of really contacting him outside of tramping through the jungle in hopes he’d run across the dragon if he wasn’t back at their known campsite. And knowing Byrn, he wouldn’t want to do that. Not unless they were actually leaving. And with no word sent back from Blair and Toa, he doubted it would be today. If Ts’akab noticed the perkiness, he didn’t either understand it as Etrigan did. Either way, if Thana wanted anything to do with her rider, she wouldn’t be trying to sleep with him. If that was what her perkiness truly meant. “It will be interesting, I’m sure. The hatching has just finished a while ago. So almost everyone is constantly talking about that. My rider makes it no small issue when he leaves to get away from it all.” He remarked, hinting that they had been here for a little longer than what Thana and Etrigan were probably hoping for themselves, but in all honesty the lightning dragon was more than ready to be gone. But what could he do. Byrn wasn’t leaving without Bolrock and definitely not until Blair called them. He didn’t take offense when he tried to nudge his rider away. Some dragons were like that--Toa definitely was when he could get away with doing that to Blair. Not that she allowed him too all the time. Only when she knew it was needed. But he waved those thoughts off. There was no need for him to be thinking of them. He would be living with them all again. He huffed, going to say something when he stilled. There was a rustling coming from behind him. He frowned, not knowing who or what it was, and Ts’akab shot a look at Etrigan. Was he expecting someone? By the look the other lightning was giving him, and how tense he had also gotten, the dragon was going to go out on a limb and say. No. He wasn’t and that frustrated the lightning. He wasn’t trusting to turn his back on the lightning, but he didn’t like having something cross him from behind. With his hackles raised, the lighting didn’t give much warning by word. Only a shock, thrown from his tail. There was a screech, more of surprise than pain, and Ts’akab froze before his static left his mane visibly. He almost hid his face in a paw, but then he stopped. Oh great. The rustling became more of a stomping. And then Byrn yelled. “TS’AKAB. YOU STUPID TAINT-FORSAKEN DRAGON.” He howled, stomping into the clearing. He ignored the other dragon, but that didn’t mean he hadn’t noticed the other pair. The fact that Ts’akab was in the clearing with the other meant that he had been conversing. The sound of thunder also told the rider what he had been doing. “What the hell do you think you were doing. You should have SAID something Instead of TRYING TO SHOCK ME.” “How the hell should have I know--” “IF YOU WOULD HAVE SAID SOMETHING.” Byrn snapped. “I didn’t know you were here and then all the sudden you’re trying to shock me. ARE YOU TRYING TO KILL ME AGAIN” “Keep your voice down, mine. If you would have made any other indication.” “If you had not attacked before.” Ts’akab shook his head, and growled. “Fine. Enough. I apologize, and it was a mistake. I’ll try not to make it again.” Byrn snarled, but then turned his attention, finally, to the other rider pair, his anger seething, yet settling. His hazel eyes examined the other lightning and his rider. “And who are they, might I ask?” He asked, more towards Ts’akab than the other, but he huffed. “Not a threat, if that’s what you mean. At least. Not right now. We were merely talking.” He rolled his eyes. “Byrn, this is Etrigan, and Thana. Thana, Etrigan, this is Byrn. If you haven’t guess, he would be my rider. I apologize for his rudeness.” Byrn Glared at him, but his face smoothed into a smile. “A pleasure, Etrigan, Thana.” |

Admittedly, Etrigan was relieved when he learned that they were not within a territory. But then he’d be less worried too if Thana was in a cage. Though the new Lightning, Ts’akab as it was, did make him ponder as he explained himself as a taint and showed him his crystal. At this, Etrigan grunted approval and lowered his head so the other could see his own fractured crystal between his horns. So they were tainted as well, that could be good or bad, he would have to see. “Well, it is good to know I have not stumbled on your lands. I smelled a Bulkhead among other things…Which I guess leads me to another question. Are you alone? Traveling with others? Or even in a Shell?” He paused, thinking he was asking too many questions. “I only ask because we ourselves were in a Shell but…well, most of the others basically turned on each other and killed one another. We left promptly to avoid that mess” He explained. Yes they had been Daggers, and Etrigan enjoyed having structure and order although he preferred to be of a Shell with more honor. Surely one had to exist? Below him he could feel Thana lean against his leg and huff indicating she was becoming bored. But Etrigan ignored her and kept his attention of Ts’akab preparing to hold Thana again if she tried to wander. He did not trust her to not go pester a Wolverine or whatnot. But when the sound of something approaching became apparent, Etrigan tensed and looked about. He would not attack unless necessary but he wanted to know what was approaching. It seemed Ts’akab was the type to attack and ask questions later as his element was triggered and now Etrigan’s hearing was assaulted by angry yelling from the younger Lightning’s rider. He watched intrigued as the two bickered and politely stayed out of it. But he smelled the air all the same to learn what he could of this young man. The first thing that hit his nose was blood. Thana, however, NOT having a good sense of smell went by her vision. She liked what she saw and as this sometimes did, it lead to awkwardness. She trotted out towards Byrn. “Pleasure’s mine! Or at least-“ Before she could finish what would no doubt be a come on, Etrigan grabbed her and lowered his head to hiss in her ear. “Don’t you dare! He smells of blood and metal and strongly of another man and a woman. And I know an alpha female when I smell one. He is off limits!” The Lightning whispered with a growl to her “If he doesn’t kill you, his mate surely will if you touch him!” Thana just huffed and went limp. “Fiiiiine” she said and looked back at the other pair “I am sorry. I am just so bored! I need something or someone to do!” She seemed like a pouting child whining. “Etrigan, what ARE we doing anyway?” “I told you” he said calmer now “Since the Shell fell apart we are simply traveling to survive until we can find a new one or some other form of order and or job” Thana groaned again. “We don’t NEED jobs Et! Can’t we just live free and untamed?” At this Etrigan sighed and again looked to the other pair. “Once again, forgive her. She is not completely right in the head. But she is skilled enough at times. Good to meet you Byrn. Sadly as I said, we seem to be without purpose. So I admit I am curious about the goings on of other tainted pairs to see if we may be of use somewhere” |

With the lightning rider calming down, Ts’akab himself started calming down, his jade green eyes narrowing as he listened to the other two. The female didn’t interest him really, already she looked to be a nuisance. He glanced to his rider, who kept his arms crossed and a polite expression on his face. Whatever the other lightning thought of them, Ts’akab couldn’t be sure. He just wanted a decent impression. His maw stretched into a snerk when the Lightning asked if they were in a shell, or traveling with others. For a moment, he mused, ignoring the onslaught of questions. It mattered not, he flicked his tail and swept his gaze around the small clearing. The tall trees barely managed to cover them, and thick boughs swayed with the wind as the Storm kept swirling above them. His mane swirled and crackled and already he felt the pull to be back up in the clouds. He was quite surprised the other Lightning hadn’t done anything with the storm. “We’re not in a shell.” He replied after a few seconds of silence. “But yes, we are traveling with another pair.” He answered not giving any more information on who or what type of dragon the other was. Not that Rouge would be a decent fight against a lightning being so conducive, but still, it was good to have cards up his sleeve. He shook his mane and grinned when they mentioned they were just looking around for jobs or a new group for them to join. The small outburst from his rider made Ts’akab snort and Byrn raise his eyebrow. No, he wouldn’t be getting into bed with this woman, even if he hadn’t been bound to Blair and Bol he wouldn’t think of it, and yet he had to admire her boldness. She knew what she wanted when she wanted it. That could be a good quality. “No need to apologize. We all have our quirks.” Byrn’s voice smoothed out, waving off the Lightnings apology. “Living free and untamed, eh?” Byrn commented, thinking on. Certainly that was what they were doing. But also trying to gather allies, to be a power in and of themselves. So far it was a...Slow progress. But these two would be potentially good allies. If they played it right. Ts’akab seemed to be thinking the same thing, and the pair shared a glance. Who to try first? The girl or dragon. The dragon seemed more likely to make final decisions in any given situation, so Byrn nodded to Ts’akab. Might as well let him do the talking--he was, after all, the one who had found them first. “I can’t say for any shells out there, we’re not particularly interested.” He mused, talons tapping lazily in the grass. “But, rather we’re making our own little group. Well, perhaps not ‘little.” It is at the moment, but We’re hoping to change that. It’d not be an official shell, but it’d be our own band. Doing whatever we felt needed to be done. And of course, helping each other out.” They left out hierarchy, or perhaps how dishonorable the group could really be…”We are looking for...allies. Potential partners. If you will.” Byrn wanted to laugh, to throw his head back and laugh, but if anything, if they wanted to foster friendship and allies, to acclimate their own group to be larger, they would have to play this game. Appeal to the other dragons and their rides. There would always be those pairs that despised them, or wouldn’t get along with them, but then, there was a whole world out there. Other tainted pairs that could be recruited to their cause. It just depended on how they pulled it off. It could never hurt to try. “At the moment, we’re off looking for a place to call ours, a territory if you will. Not anywhere this close to the Academy, oh no. But Something that is large and spacious.” Byrn piped up this time, shifting his weight to his other foot. He briefly wondered if Bol had even noticed he was gone. Probably, but didn’t see it as any consequence. “A place where we can be found when not traipsing through the place. A place to rest and heal when needed. It would eventually be well stocked with anything anyone would ever need. But we’re working on it.” “You would also be free to come and go as you please.” Ts’akab chimed in, speaking more to the rider, than the dragon. Byrn smiled on the inside. Blair might have a problem with another female around, but she would have to get used to it-- She wanted allies, Byrn would find them. The thought of her sent a pang of homesickness through her, and Byrn sighed. How he wished the Flora would get here soon. They didn’t say anything else, letting the lightning pair muse on what they said. Even if they didn’t accept it right away, perhaps they would at a later date? Who knew. ((OOC- Thana and Etrigan Randomly showing up at their door shouting for Byrn to take them up at their offer. Oh gods. The drama. The DRAMA)) |

Etrigan listened and observed the other Lightning pair while still guarding Thana in the crook of his arm. Admittedly he was disappointed that they were not a shell and in fact knew of none but that disappointment changed to interest as Ts'akab went on. So it seemed they were still forming a group of sorts. Well, that was something anyway! But seeking a territory? Hmm... "We have flown far and have seen areas suitable for a pair like ourselves but probably not so much a group. And be wary, as you may know the Tainted legion keeps eyes on such groups...Both for potential talent as well as making sure they are kept in check. Sadly I will admit they tend to not seek out old Academy breeds as we are. But I am hoping that will change. We are of use, just not favored" he knew this may not sit well with the younger Lightning, but better he know now. "Again if you form a powerful group and serve the higher ups you will still gain respect I am sure. But yes, one must find a territory first" He was about to suggest areas to search but then it seemed the proposition was laid upon the table. Allies. At this Etrigan gave pause. They just met after all, they knew not of their potential skills or uses. But it was hard to consider with Thana beginning to wiggle. "We could help! Etrigan is strong! And an excellent fighter and what he can do with his lightning-" "Thana hush!" "Well it's true!" The red Lightning sighed and looked again at the other pair. As strong as they seemed, there was something off about them. Like he was looking at a Wolverine or other predator that was far stronger than they seemed. But the fact remained, he and Thana wandering about with no purpose was not helping either of them. And more eyes keeping track of Thana the better. "Actually, I am interested. Thana and I need purpose, so we could indeed try to be allies of sorts. I understand your goal now is to find territory and I am unsure how helpful we could be there. Currently we tend to stick to the jungles but perhaps North would suit a larger group" "How can we find you again?" Thana asked, Etrigan jerked his arm to jostle her. He could tell she was still looking at the young man, but somehow he knew if she attempted to touch him she would die. he was unsure how he knew this exactly. "What? We can't all just hang around Lihn! Well....I could, I can make some decent money and whatnot" What was sad was she was being serious. Etrigan had a feeling there would be both benefits and trouble ahead of them. |
