Indeed it seemed the Crystal dragon and her rider had finally found an interest they both shared. Meira's love of spring time and the beauty of nature easily fed Telluria's thirst for knowledge. They had found they worked well together when it came to finding, identifying, and reporting on species and their region. Especially flowers and birds. A skill that had not gone unnoticed.

For while they were still pondering on which wing they could join if they chose to do so, they had been approached by a few Academy Bigwigs to help with surveying for different regions and records. So today they both buzzed with excitement as they readied for a trip to the Jungles to seek out the locations of two types of flower and a rare bird to see how large their ranges were among other things.

"Telly, I know this is completely professional but surely we'll have time to enjoy ourselves as well?" Meira asked double checking their supplies and task list.

"Of course dear, but seeking these species among such lovely places will be enjoyment enough yes?"

Meira laughed "Yes you're right" having double check everything with Telluria, Meira finally strapped herself in "Hope you're comfortable flying through thick forests!" She teased. her dragon's emerald eyes stabbed at her with a fiery yet humored look.

"My dear, I may not be as skilled as some, but I am plenty talented when needed" Telluria said as she snapped her wings open. As if stating her point, the Crystal pushed off and sped upward faster than usual to give her rider a jolt. But once high enough, Telluria shifted to gliding. Her wings were long and narrow so gliding came more natural. "See?" She asked in a cocky tone, Meira just groaned.
~~~
Since they were going to a deeper section of the Jungle, the flight was longer than their usual trip and so while Meira enjoyed the scenery of the ride, she was still fidgety and tired by the time Telluria began to circle her landing location. They were to set up camp here first and spend three days or so each in every marked location and report their findings.
Telluria's landing was shaky as she had to swerve and maneuver through the trees before finding a good landing spot. Both of them were glad they had left early since they still had some hours of daylight left to search as well as Telluria hoping her entry had not alerted anything dangerous. Though save for another dragon, the Crystal was fairly confident she could handle most of the Jungle wildlife.
"Alright Meira, let's find a good campsite and then we will start looking a bit, but the real search begins tomorrow. Though we need a lay of the land first" Already her eyes were scanning around as a sense of slight paranoia tickled her scales.
((Cydaelaestor=Ghede--Kesolyraesyr=Blair))
Despite the amount of time that had passed since his ascention to control, Thys Paer'Eis still exulted in the feeling of flying. Only once before the Graduation had he been on the back of a dragon, and that night was marked with terror. Every time he and Cydaelaestor flew now, he delighted in the sensation. It was the first true joy he had known that had nothing to do with his art.
Still, even after three months, he was not used to all the things that Cydaelaestor got up to in the air. While they were flying over a dense forest, the Ruin suddenly twisted her wings and dropped below the treeline, a plume of swiftly vanishing gold-violet mist the only evidence that they had been there at all.
He yelped from the sudden drop, but it was a quiet yelp. Stealth was paramount. He hated to do anything that might cost him his dragon.
"What was that about?" Thys Paer'Eis hissed as she settled to the forest floor.
"There is a dragon ahead," Cydaelaestor replied softly, her layered voice seeming to echo itself. "A Crystal, I believe."
"One of the Academy's?" the artist asked, and his heart rate increased slightly. He was not nearly as easy to spook as the child, but a full grown Academy dragon was an intimidating prospect.
"It is best to err on the side of caution, I think," the Ruin said, then tilted her head to one side. "But you want to meet them."
"I want to learn about them," Thys Paer'Eis hedged, knowing very well that Cydaelaestor disapproved. "You need more pieces." The way the mist swirled around her face showed the intake of breath at the mention. The child had not understood her so well, he knew. "And Kesolyraesyr wouldn't turn us away if we had information about the Academy."
"Who said we were going back to Kesolyraesyr?"
Before the last echo of the young woman's name had died from the wind, Thys Paer'Eis had vaulted over the spines in her mane and on her mask to land with a dull thud in front of her. Each hand had one of the bony spines so that the Ruin's face was unable to move without pulling free. It was just within his reach to do it, but he could do it.
"We are going back." His voice was flat and cold. "Or I will go without you. They protected us when we were vulnerable. We owe them." He shook his arms slightly as her golden eyes blinked at him. "You owe them. Do not tell me that you are one that would walk out on a debt, Cydaelaestor. I do not believe it."
She blinked at him again for a moment, then gently pulled herself free.
"I should stay out of sight," she replied finally as he straightened up. "I doubt they would react well to one of my breed, exalted though we be."
With a burst exhaled breath, Thys Paer'Eis nodded and strode off. It was not the first time he had been stern with Cydaelaestor. It would likely not be the last. He still had a baseline fear that one day she would get tired of his objections and just snap his face off. Maybe it was the serpentine mask. Most human beings, he had noticed, were fundamentally terrified of snakes of all kinds, much less one as big as his dragon.
He crept through the forest in the way that Cydaelaestor indicated with the flicker of her tail, finally finding the little meadow in which the Crystal and her rider was hiding. Despite the fact that, above the canopy, there were still hours until sunset, down on the ground it was dusky and dappled with shadows.
Thys Paer'Eis paused in one, then did one of the things that he was not very good at. He strode into the meadow, and then pretended as if he had done it on accident.
"Oh, forgive me!" he said with a smile. He wasn't sure how well that worked, smiling wasn't something he usually did. "I was preoccupied, perhaps, I did not notice the meadow was occupied. How I could have missed two creatures of such beauty is beyond my ken."
Compliments, compliments he knew. He did not give them very often, but he knew how.
Meira bounded forth after dismounting humming happily as she grabbed a few bags. "Let's find a spot that gives us a good lookout point! Oh Telly even the flowers here smell so amazing! I can't believe we were picked to-" She was suddenly cut off when telly was suddenly crouching over her in a flash. Even over Meira the Crystal dragon had heard something.
"Hush, something is coming" Telluria whispered. She would not attack unless that was the only option. Her head whipped towards the sound of footsteps and watched intensely with her shining green eyes. At first she was expecting to see some form of chimera or large best but to her shock, she smelled human...and something else. Yet she was still surprised when a young man appeared. The Crystal tilted her head curiously.
"Oh, forgive me! I was preoccupied, perhaps, I did not notice the meadow was occupied. How I could have missed two creatures of such beauty is beyond my ken."
Immediately Meira giggled and seemed charmed. Telluria was still wary. What was a young man doing this deep in the jungle? She glanced to Meira to signal for her to remain silent for now before looking back at the youth.
"We were not aware anyone was here either. Forgive us if we intruded" her eyes still looked around for anyone else, but her tone was polite and sweet "We were sent to seek the whereabouts and numbers of particular flowers and birds for our records" She further explained. Telluria then took on a less tense pose "I am Crystal Telluria, and this is my rider, Meira" Below her Meira waved and smiled, the Crystal continued. "If I may ask, what is a young man doing out here alone? This area can be dangerous without a dragon" It hit her then, surely he must have a dragon? How else would he get out here?
Thys Paer'Eis put a hand to his mouth at the Crystal's defensive posturing. She seemed polite enough, but it never hurt to put it into another's mind that he was harmless. The girl, at least, seemed taken in, if not the dragon.
"Oh, I startled you!" he said, evidently quite contrite. Though he could not pull off the innocent charm that the child seemed to exude without effort, he had become quite the actor of late. "It is a pleasure to meet you both. I am sorry again. You can call me Axaltich ((Artist))."
He smiled a bit at the dragon's line of questioning, and tilted his head side to side a bit, as though indicating that he did not quite agree with what she said.
"There are those that avoid society," he began slowly, tapping a finger to his jaw, then twisting it in an elegant gesture to point to the Crystal pair. "Those that wander in long-away woods, where the only light is sun and moon and stars, the only company leaf and bough, wolf and robin."
Then he laughed, an actor's move, though he pulled it off well enough that someone who didn't know him wouldn't notice.
"I admit, though, that I am not one such," he said, this time playing falsely contrite as a joke. "My dragon is a shy one." Through the shadow of their bond, Thys Paer'Eis felt something that in a human might have been a snort. "She is away in the woods, though close enough to keep an eye. She prefers the solitude, and not the company of her own kind. Badly hurt she was once, in a battle among dragons, and she keeps from their presence for the most part now."
Plants? Well, perhaps he could be of some use to these, and the might open up to him a bit. It was worth a try, at any rate.
"Well, fair ladies," he continued with a flourishing bow, "though I know little enough of birds, I do collect feathers, and I remember where they fell. As for flowers, I keep track of them for the dyes they may yield, and the beauties they hold. Perhaps I could help with your task, and make it pass the quicker?"
It was not that Telluria was a paranoid and untrusting dragon, but something seemed a little off about the situation. Though eventually her muscled did relax a bit when he explained his dragon was a shy one. For at least he did admit to having a dragon! While this did ease her mind a tad, she now wondered what breed he rode. Was it tainted? Granted she knew not all taints were bad bit still...
"Well it is nice to meet you Axaltich" Meira finally said sensing Telly had relaxed a little. "Oh, I am sorry your dragon had such an experience. Poor dear!” She’d be lying of she said she wasn’t curious about meeting his dragon, but she held her tongue for now. Also she was quickly distracted when he began speaking of bird feathers and flowers. Even Telluria raised her head suddenly in interest.
“What was that? You say you know of the flowers?” asked the Crystal dragon honestly interested
“And have found bird feathers?” Meira followed eagerly. “Have you found any that are black with pink bands?” Telluria gently placed a talon on her shoulder to calm her down and lowered her muzzle to her ear.
“Do not get so excited yet dear. But we will give this a chance, but if any danger comes we must get away” She looked back at this new ‘Axaltich’ “We would indeed be honored and very grateful if you showed us what you have seen and where. Although, I would like to meet your dragon if possible. If she is still uneasy you know we do have healers at the academy who could help” She did not even realize the implications of this as she said it. But her emerald eyes watched him with apprehension as she inwardly prayed he could indeed lead them to what they were seeking.
Though he had seemed at ease, a knot of worry at the Crystal's tenseness came undone as she relaxed and her rider spoke for the first time. He knew he was a good actor, but he'd been seen through before. Never by a dragon, but it was bound to happen eventually. Their open excitement that he might know of what they sought made him grin, the first honest expression to cross his face since he left his dragon's presence.
"Well, it would depend on the flowers you seek," he admitted, pulling his bag around where he could get into it. "But I tend to keep an eye for them. Black with pink bands? Now there's an odd coloration. Let me see."
And he flipped the top on his bag and riffled gently through it. Here were his packets of dried flowers, preserved to be made to dyes. Here were more recent acquisitions. Here, between the thinnest of stiff leathers, were feathers. These he pulled from his bag and promptly sat on the ground to spread what looked rather like a book made of leather in front of him.
Let them come to him. He was no hunter in this interaction, and it was best to let them do the moving.
There were feathers of every description bound gently to the leather pages, from tiny bits of sky-blue fluff, to feathers so black as to be invisible in the shadows, to a single pale yellow feather the length of the young man's arm. And, in the back, there were several feathers that were black, banded with pink.
"Ah, like these?" He pried one carefully from its holding place, and offered it to the rider. "I found these very recently, and not terribly far from here. I saw no bird that matched the feathers, but few birds will remain about when a dragon is near."
He ignored the offer of healing from the Academy. After all, the story he told was not strictly true. He frowned slightly as something in his bond jumped, though, an element of surprise from his dragon--whom he did not think was capable of feeling that emotion. Still, he smoothed the frown away and returned his attention to the girl. He could question his dragon another time.
Meira was now digging through a bag to pull out the small book with the highlighted entries on the flowers they were looking for. As she flipped pages, Telluria came closer to Axaltich as he himself searched for his samples. She could not deny she was intrigued!
“I must admit you have my attention. My goodness you’ve been collecting a while it seems” Telluria said making no attempt to hide that she was impressed . When he pulled out the feather, her emerald eyes shone like the gems in her horns “Oh my….recently you say? Do you remember where?” She gazed at the feather as Meira looked over the sketches of the flowers and compaired them to the ones the young man had.
“But he has a point Telly, even if the birds are around, they may not be long because..” She paused, she did not want to lay blame on her dragon.
“They will stay hidden and silent but unless I do something that justifies fleeing they won’t really go dear. So long as I am docile and quiet we should be ok” The Crystal replied. Indeed she had watched birds many times and had learned if she showed them she was no threat, they tended to go about their business. Some even tried to land on her and take some of her scales for their nests. Suddenly her eyes lit up. “Meira that’s it! Maybe we can use my scales as bait!” The girl pondered this a moment.
“Maybe! But is it their breeding season? They may not even be building nests”
“Exactly what we must find out!” The Crystal dragon declared excitedly before looking to Axaltich “Would you mind taking us to where you found the feather? I can easily give you some scales as payment. Mine sell at a high price thanks to my breed if you are interested” She wondered what else she could offer. If he declined they could find it themselves surely but she wanted to see how this youngster was already so ahead of them!
"It has been several years, fair Crystal," Thys Paer'Eis agreed, smiling at her obvious interest.
It was an honest smile. Few but Cydaelaestor paid him any real interest, nor had they for months. Even before, when they had stayed with Kesolyraesyr and her crew, he was rarely about often enough for her to pay him attention. And he had rarely stayed anywhere long since then. Not that he planned to stay around these two pretty ladies long, either, he reminded himself firmly.
"As for these flowers," he continued, as though his teenaged body had not derailed his rational mind, and he drew the girl's book of sketches toward himself. "I have seen these--" he pointed to two of the samples "--but this one is unfamiliar."
He fell silent for the discussion between the pair about whether the birds would flee or not. Surely the dragon would know best. Birds tended to smell Cydaelaestor coming--perhaps it was the mist.
"I would be delighted to show you the way," Thys Paer'Eis told her, his eyes gliding along the dragon's graceful figure, his fingers itching to pick up material and tools, but he stilled them. The inspiration would last. It always did. He paused for a few moments as he drew a line on the map in his mind. "It is perhaps a few hours walk from here. Less, of course, if we fly."
He did not bother to hide his delight at her offer of scales.
"I would hardly sell such a gift!" he objected, grinning at the pair of them. "I would be honored to have one or two to incorporate into my art, however, if you are willing."
Letting their new acquaintance flips through the flower journal, Meira and Telluria waited eagerly, even just evidence of the bird they sought was enough to jumpstart their hope and excitement to a whole new level. Even the normally poised Crystal dragon trembled just a touch. She even fluffed her scales a little, though she did make a mental note of feeling for scales she could give him when the day was done. Only recently had the Crystal dragon fully learned just how valuable her scales were, she had learned one could get a higher price for them than glass crystals depending on color, detail, and size.
When Axaltich finally indicated that he had indeed seen a couple of the desired flowers, Meira almost squealed and Telluria stood up and had to stop herself from hoping about. She held herself with her normal dignity, but her excitement was evident. “Well wonderful then!” she trilled and Meira was quick to re-pack anything she had already unpacked for another journey.
As she did, Telluria reached back and plucked a longer feather like scale from her wing section before presenting it to Axaltich. “One now, and many more to come. Just to show you we are serious in our gratitude!” She said kindly.
As he pointed out areas on the map and estimated the way, Meira only had to look at her dragon a second to know her opinion “Well why not fly? Seems silly to walk if we both have dragons. That is if your dragon is comfortable enough? If not we can follow from a distance?”
"Or, if she does not feel like it at all, you can ride with us if that is alright with her" Telluria followed. She still wanted to see this dragon, while she was indeed excited at this development, she still got the feeling something wasn't quite right but she could not get feel for what it was or if it was dangerous or not.
It was all Thys Paer'Eis could do not to laugh at the vibrating excitement that he could feel coming off the Crystalpair. Blair got that way sometimes. Granted, it was usually when someone said they had a human that she could eat. That thought did make him snort a bit, and he let a little smile show through as the girl sped about, stuffing things back into bags.
The Crystal's feather was beautiful, a shimmering feather-like thing. He gave himself a small cut when he didn't handle the edges with the caution they deserved. But he didn't jump or yelp at the pain, only smiled a little more as he examined the gift.
"Thank you for this gift," he said after a moment, and there was true appreciation in his voice. After months with dragons, he knew the strength of a dragon's scales. This would make a wonderful addition to his materials. "I will make of it a masterpiece."
He placed it carefully in his feather-book, securing it in place of the black-and-pink feather he had given the rider. When he was certain it was secure and would not harm the book, he folded it carefully up again and tucked it back into his bag. With his face turned away, they didn't see him scowl at the suggestion that his dragon come forth. The Crystal was quick to follow up with an assurance that he could ride on her, and he turned back to her with a smile.
Though he opened his mouth to accept her proposal, he paused, closing it again. Cydaelaestor was unhappy to be left out. She wanted to join him. He sighed, but kept the smile.
"Thank you for your consideration, fair Crystal," he began, sending his Ruin his assent. "But my dragon has been listening, and wishes to meet you." Here he paused, and let uncertainty creep into his face. "You have been kind to me thus far, and I ask you to extend that courtesy to my dragon. She means you no harm, I swear it."
It was even true, for the most part. Cydaelaestor would rather have living pawns than dead ones. When he felt her creep close enough, the artist turned and padded into the woods where she had paused, just out of sight.
"Play the part," he whispered, and though she didn't reply, he felt her amused scorn through the bond.
Cautious, like the shy creature he had named her, the Ruin stepped out of the screen of trees with him at her shoulder, one hand over the thin joint of her first wing. She was careful to keep her mists thin and dilute, as thick mist could be seen as preparation for an attack.
Meira packed everything up quickly enough but did not mount back up just yet. She wanted to wait until she knew if Axaltich would ride with them or if they were to follow him and his own dragon, who of course Meira was excited to meet. But she kept her composure, she had been getting better at controlling her excitement.
"Thank you for your consideration, fair Crystal, but my dragon has been listening, and wishes to meet you. You have been kind to me thus far, and I ask you to extend that courtesy to my dragon. She means you no harm, I swear it."
“Of course!” Meira said earnestly wondering why it needed to be said that his dragon meant no harm. Telluria was wondering this as well, but deep down she knew that this pair was likely tainted. But just how much? The Crystal dragon smelled the Ruin before she saw her. Even limited fumes, any dragon could smell it at this closeness. While Telluria did tense ever so slightly, she stayed put. She refused to be like some of the horrible bigoted beasts human and dragon alike they had met at the Academy.
The pinkish mist was slightly visible before the python skull masked head appeared. Meira did give the tiniest bit of a gasp. Not in fear, but in surprise. For she had never seen a Ruin before, heck she had never seen several tainted breeds except the few that were at the Academy. She even had to blink a few times to make sure the creature she gazed up on was real. “Oh..” the girl breathed out “Goodness, I have never seen a Ruin before” She said honestly but in awe. Her eyes traveled over Ghede. Yes, the creature was rather ghoulish and one could not help but feel fear at the sight of her, but good hearted Meira was not like most people “You’re lovely!” She said to Ghede. Indeed there was a dark beauty to the dragon she could not deny. The opposite end of the spectrum of her own dragon, but she saw the beauty clear as day.
Telluria stared as well. This indeed was a creature of decay and death, but her rider was right, she was lovely in her own right. Telluria could feel no real aggression from the Ruin, but still inside Telluria was pondering what she could do to defend against an attack IF one were to happen. But she remembered herself and bowed her head. “Yes, hello lady Ruin. I imagine you have heard our conversation with your rider. It is an honor to meet you”
It was. Neither Crystal nor rider could deny it was exciting to meet such a rare creature. Telluria just prayed there was no real danger.
The lady rider's immediate reassurance made Thys Paer'Eis smile, but it was a bitter sort of smile. The child was that way, instantly trusting, never doubting another's good will...or he had been. The artist glanced down and away for a moment. The child had changed during their time in the swamp. His own coming to dominance had surely changed the boy as well, but the other woke so rarely that it was hard to tell.
Ruin and rider paused in the same heartbeat, and four pairs of eyes blinked in mild confusion. This was not the reaction either of them had expected from an Academy Crystalpair. For the barest moment, Thys Paer'Eis' actor's mask slipped, and a calculating look flitted across his face. Then it was gone, and he smiled gently at their acceptance.
Ghede, meanwhile, felt the fingers of her rider's hand constrict on her shoulder, a rising tension despite the acceptance of the girls. She knew what he was thinking: his luck was simply not that good. This could not continue. Some sort of violence or mistrust would have reassured him far more than this meek agreement.
Pulling her mists and wings tighter to herself, the very image of a tense, wary, battle-frightened dragon, Ghede nodded slightly, her main eyes on Telluria, the secondary on Meira. The third scanned continually, on the look out for danger of any kind.
"Thank you, Crystalrider," she whispered, her layered voices echoing eerily. "And you, lady Crystal. An honor to be so greeted by fair defenders of the Academy. We have...not been so lucky in the past."
She shifted slightly and a long, broad scar showed on her ribs, just under the edge of her wings. She had gotten it in their first clash against an Academy dragon, one that had surprised them and struck her before she could react. They had not won that fight--they had fled it.
A flash of fear and anger skimmed over her rider's face and through their bond at the memory. He had not liked to flee, but their foe had been older and stronger than she. She would not have survived such a contest of skill. More than fleeing, however, seeing her hurt had made him furious, a roaring, burning fury that she had never felt from Ogike, strong even through their fractured bond. It was something that Ghede both respected...and feared. Anger such as that could not always be controlled, could not always be anticipated.
"We would be glad to help you find the things you seek."
Blue and emerald eyes looked at the Ruin pair softly, but the emerald pair of the Crystal dragon blinked as she felt the odd confusion of the other pair. yes indeed surely they were not expecting acceptance. And while Meira fully accepted them, Tellura still held a sliver of wariness but only in the emergency storage of her mind. It would only come out if the Ruin pair actually did turn on them. But somehow she felt it was safe.
Both of them however were both mystified by the Ruin's voice as well as pained by the sight of her scar. While Telluria did wonder very briefly if the attack was warranted, she also knew all too well some Academy pairs would attack any tainted breed on sight. Really it broke her heart when she heard stories, especially after meeting healed taints who had sought refuge within the Academy and were still treated like monsters by some.
"Oh my god..." Meira whispered at the sight of the scar "I am so sorry that happened to you!" She said honestly. "Please, I assure you we aren't all like that" The girl wanted to hug the two of them but she knew better. From behind she felt her own dragon blow a gentle puff of hair from her nostrils onto Meira's hair. "Listen, we really REALLY appreciate the help!" She said turning to Telluria who lowered herself so her rider could mount up.
"We do" the Crystal continued "And believe me, on top of the scales, perhaps we can find another way to repay you" She awaited Meira's tap indicating she was ready. "Well, there is no rush of course, but we are ready when you are. Whenever you are comfortable!"
She did not want them to feel rushed, but surely they could socialize a bit more at the disclosed location. She was indeed eager but she also did not want them to feel she was using them, absolutely not!
From long association with the child, Thys Paer'Eis recognized the Crystalrider's impulse to hug his Ruin, and smothered a smile. He was torn, for a moment, between encouraging something he knew would upset Cydaelaestor and putting the dragon at ease.
"It would not do to get to close to her face," he said at last, and Cydaelaestor flicked him a look that was half thanks and half reproof for the buried amusement. "The mist is harmful to all but me, though she can suppress it to socialize. It takes some effort, however."
"It is nothing, child," Cydaelaestor demurred, though some part of her was touched by the girl's obviously honest horror at the sight of the scar. She lowered her wings a bit so that it was out of sight. "Though it pains me a bit yet."
She twitched her tail imperiously at him, an old familiar gesture, and he automatically checked the saddle to make sure it was secure to her back, then climbed into it and secured himself.
"We are glad to help," the Ruin repeated, and it was technically true. She was pleased to do anything that might gain her insight or pieces, and Thys Paer'Eis was oddly pleased to help this lovely young lady, and her beautiful Crystal.
Once he was secure to her back, the Ruin flared her wings and took off. The near-vertical take-off was clearly a strain for her, and just as clearly her injured side pained her. It was only half affectation. It would never do for a potential enemy to get her number too closely...but it never hurt to mislead them into thinking her weaker than she was.
"This way, please!" the young artist called.
"And stay out of my mists!" Ghede added, noting her mist trail spreading in the air behind her, buffeted by the wind since she was not controlling it. With a thought, she willed them away from the Crystal pair's likely ascent. "It will be easier if you stay next to us."
Without waiting for the pair's agreement, the Ruin swept her six wings in at a brisk pace, making for the place where she remembered Thys Paer'Eis being so excited about those unusual feathers. One of the flowers was also nearby. After a brief ten minutes, the Ruin settled into a narrow clearing. She immediately moved into the trees to allow the Crystal adequate room to land as well.
"The nests are a few minutes distant," she said once the pair was settled. "To the north. One of your requested flowers is south east."
Already Telluria knew better than to breathe in the Ruin’s fumes if she could help it. Even her scales twitched in places feeling as if they would tarnish and decay right from her body. But she forced herself to remember that was unlikely unless the Ruin WANTED that to happen and her rider seemed to like her scales too much to allow that to happen. But her second concern seemed to calm as Meira heeded the pair’s warning and nodded before backing up and looking to where her mists were flowing so she could steer clear before mounting up.
“Of course. Come along Meira” She said as the girl climbed on and finished strapping herself in. She patted her dragon’s shoulder but the dragon shifted to feel for herself making sure she was secure. Emerald eyes watched intently as the Ruin began to rise like some magnificent Wraith. Darkly beautiful, yet sending shivers through one’s soul. Telluria nodded at the other pair’s instructions and rose herself with a few wing beats.
She pushed to catch up to the Ruin and position herself beside as suggested. Already Telliria was a touch jealous of Ghede’s skilled flight compared to her own, but that was to be expected. The crystal was never fully confident in her flying. Meira, sensing her dragon’s discontent, stroked and patted her. Feeling Telly’s purr seconds later.
When it seemed the Ruin pair was landing, Telluria was a bit more confident and stable in her landing. When she was still, Meira was frantically marking down their location on their map. “Telly! We should look for the birds first since the flowers aren’t going anywhere” She slid off as Telluria positioned to let her do so.
