Character Number - 1st Name - Zarhasia Liem Age - 22 Gender - Female Sexuality - Pansexual Appearance - Zarhasia's appearance is that of someone who has experienced some hard times. Her naturally fair skin is dotted with scars from various scrapes, scratches, tumbles, and wounds. It is fairly rough and calloused to the touch. Lack of care has made her nails hard and ragged. They would resemble claws more than fingernails if she didn't try to keep them relatively short for the sake of cleanliness in healing. Her eyes are dark green with just a hint of brown and slanted slightly upward. Dark brown hair goes down to about her shoulders. It is often severely tangled, preventing the true length of her hair from being detected. At odds with her appearance Zarhasia is often clean. She goes to great lengths to maintain a certain amount of cleanliness, or at least as much as she can in her current position. Despite her best efforts her ragged appearance tends to give her a air of dirtiness. The healer is thin to the point where she walks the line of being absolutely skeletal. It is accented by her height. Having reached her full growth before being captured by the taint she stands at five feet eight inches. At one time she favored practical but soft and comfortable clothes. Now she'll wear whatever she can get to cover her skin. She's prone to wearing layers when it isn't too hot to pull it off. While it's easy to 'lose' your belongings among the tainted faction she's yet to meet someone who can take the clothes off your back. It is with that state of mind that she attempts to keep her belongings on her person. Along with whatever little item she decides to horde at any given time that currently consists of a small knife and a flat blue stone. That being said you can't often see them, hidden away in pockets as they are. Zarhasia does have a fondness for pockets. If she can get her hands on a garment with some she won't hesitate. Personality - Once upon a time Zarhasia was a little ray of sunshine. But the sun has set, the light is fading, and a once clear world had been set into shades of gray. The difference between now and then is that her optimism has been replaced by a cold cynicism. She sees the world through a dull light and will not hesitate to make others do the same. It's hypocritical how often she wishes for a better world considering her willingness to hit others with the harsh sting of reality. Then again in calling others fools she never claimed that she isn't one herself. There was a time when Zarhasia was never cruel. Even now she isn't, not really. No matter how she might act or what she might say she rarely wishes others genuine harm. Despite all that has happened there is still that compassionate part of her that hates seeing others in pain, the thing that drove her to become a healing in the first place. She hates the taint through refusing to see them as individuals. She makes herself see them as this thing, a many-headed mass that killed others and destroyed her light. Because if she allowed herself to see them as people, people who may have been like her once upon a time, it would get so much worse. There would be a chance of her hating them another less and maybe even beginning to pity them. That is something she doesn't think she'd be able to handle. Because Zarhasia isn't cruel but at the same time she isn't a hero. Despite choosing a craft to help others she's always taken the route that would keep her the safest in the end. If she allowed herself to see the tainted as people and hate them a little less the only real difference is that she'd hurt that much more. When she can get away with it she tends to be a bit of a smart ass. She's snide, snarky, and won't hesitate to call someone an idiot if the situation calls for it. However, she's more than capable of being silent when necessary. Even if she is a coward and fears she's made irreversible mistakes she isn't an idiot. Zarhasia may be digging herself a hole but she definitely isn't going to talk herself into it. Whereas she's only not sassy sometimes there are some things she'll never say. She doesn't talk about all her regrets and the mistakes she's made, the people she never got to say goodbye to in her hometown, how she knows she's a coward and hates herself for it. She never speaks about how she sometimes wishes to a stone only to laugh and cry because it'll never change anything. Talking to a rock, painting the world grey, and needling others but only when she can get away with it will never change anything. She's the only one with the power to change her life. If only she were brave enough. Rank - Candidate/Healer History - The babe who would later be known as Zarhasia was not born to any sort of nobility or wealth. Her parents lived in a small village and made a living selling herbs and vegetables from their garden. From a young age they attempted to teach her planting. She liked it well enough but it failed to truly catch her eye. Instead she found herself lingering around the local apothecary, interested in the medicines and methods of healing. Eventually the owner of the shop took her under his wing. He taught her what he knew and she practiced diligently, blossoming under his tutelage. As time passed her curiosity began to extend beyond medicines. Zarhasia formed an interest in directly treating wounds and took to questioning anyone with knowledge on the subject. Slowly she began to gather bits of information and turn them into theories. For a long time she saw the world through a rose colored glass. But alas, even the brightest of lights can be dimmed by a powerful darkness. She was thirteen years old when her town was razed by a handful of tainted dragons and their riders. Many were killed while some deemed useful or pliable were taken captive. She, a young girl found cowering in the back of an apothecary, was lucky enough to be granted a chance to prove herself. Zarhasia had never known hate until that moment. She knew with all her heart that she hated the tainted faction. Yet for all the strength of hate fear could be absolutely paralyzing. It was fear that made her do as she said, tell them of her skills and begin healing for them. Fear was what kept her from leaving their wounded or poisoning their medicines. It made kept her from staying, made her work, kept her useful. In a way it was fear that kept her alive. Although they began to present her at their hatchings she was never given a crystal but wasn't killed for her 'failure' either. After all, everyone could use a healer, even the villains. Over the years experience came to improve her skills as a healer. At the same time it morphed her personality, masking her bright kindness with cynicism and a desire to survive. A part of her hated herself for it, just not enough to make her stop. Yet she didn't completely lose her ability to find the bright side. In a way she found herself truly able to see how precious moments of brightness were. One of those moments came in the form of a stone she found. There was nothing special about it other than the fact she found it pretty. She kept that stone, flat and blue, and began to use it as a sort of good luck charm. It was stupid, looking to a rock for support. But at the same time it was better than nothing. As a child she had never been one for wishes. Odd that the older she got the more she found herself making then. She was eighteen when the war with the Sekkians came to a climax as Niddhog was captured. It was an opportunity to run like she'd never had before. She should have run. Even so she found fear seizing control of her limbs and mind once again. A great chance had come and yet Zarhasia stayed. She remained through her window of opportunity, watched as it shrank and the tainted faction began to rebuild itself. It is something she doubts she will ever stop hating herself for. For four years she kept her head down, did her job, and watched the defeated faction grow in strength. Her strength kept her from crumbling under her anger; her weakness kept her from doing anything to change it. Pet(s) - None User Information Username - Hydra Contact - PM me.
