Character Number: 4th.

The Human

Name: Shadalu Darkpine (Previously: Peach).
Age: 23 years old, born early winter 3277 br.
Gender: Female gender, female sex.
Sexuality: Bisexual, greyromantic (and promiscious, too).

Appearance:
Her long hair spills behind her, a well-groomed mane a testament to her vanity. It is voluminous, straight and liquid as oil itself with only a slight wave to frame her face and brow. The striking color is the result of dye used to demonstrate her position as a piece of the royal family from Darkpine, hiding her naturally wheat-colored locks in a green-blue ombre that starts as a deep teal and fades to a brighter aquamarine toward end of her ankle-length braid that compliments the seafoam green of her eyes.

Her eyes are easily the focal point of her face. The allure of her eyes is only further pronounced by dark lipstick and carefully winged eyeliner as well as the placement of a dark brown mole about an inch parallel from her right eye. Her face contains no sharp lines, but soft curves that loop into a heart-shaped countenance with the fullest lips thar make her appear always on the verge of pouting.

She has the smooth complexion and soft brown skin found only in those who have encountered little hardship, and the healthy balance of her form is another testament to this. The shape of her body is a ripe pear-shape, a petite chest and softly streamlined waistline give way to generous hips and a plump rear. Her thighs are thick, the curves of her legs pronounced even in spite of their length. Her body is only slightly toned, plush and unaccustomed to wear or true athleticism of any sort. Her nails are always adorned by polish designed to match her wardrobe.

Her wardrobe varies, but never compromises on a series of points; it is always a high quality material, custom-made to fit her form, and always carefully color coordinated. Often, there are vibrant pastel colors involved. Always, there is a series of jewelry that she boasts. Gold cuff-like bracelets hang in a perfect fit over her wrists and ankles, a flexibly woven choker of gold settled around her neck - and of course, most importantly of all, the yellow-gold diamond studded tiara atop her crown. Simple and elegant statement piecies certainly make a statement out of her.

Personality:
Shadalu is a very difficult person, as even the people who like her would tell you with an edge of exasperation to their voices. When she's not putting on airs, she's nothing but obnoxious. Although she's capable of spinning charm and grace for self-preservation and self-interest, her virulent personality almost always leaks through before long. She has an attitude that a lot of people have a hard time dealing with. She's often intensely rude to others, and is really snobby. She thinks she's better than everyone, and makes sure to remind everyone that she is. In summary, she is petty, vindictive, self-centered, and all around just a really big jerk.

Shadalu is heinously proud, vainly carrying herself upon a pedestal none can reach. Shadalu is unaware of her own faults, wouldn't care even if she knew, and is quick to get mad at others for trying to slander her "good name". It's incredibly easy to set her off on tirades about how great and/or important she is.

She isn't particularly fond of human swine (and doesn't hide it well) and would be content to destroy the planet if she didn't adore perfume, candy, and shiny things. Shadalu absolutely prefers to avoid so-called commoners and other people as a whole, but tolerates them for cash influx to fund her incredibly lavish lifestyle. Designer outfits and fragrances, high thread-count bed sheets, and high quality food are all things that are bare necessities to her mind. She enjoys the finer things in life, and naturally thinks that she is deserving of all of them. She adores money, but not working for it and has made a life off gold-digging; mooching off rich, weak, gullible nobles and commoners alike. The only work-flavored effort she bothers with is her scams. She very obviously enjoys the finer things in life, and naturally thinks that she is deserving of all of them.

All of this makes sense, when one factors in the commonly spouted theory of her royal heritage... Her royalty is utterly self-proclaimed, but the public doesn't know that, and even if she weren't she's actually very well known. She wields her celebrity status and entitlement that comes along with it like a weapon. Even her scams and manipulations about others are less about her considerable greed and more about being malicious and preying on the weak than as a means for money or survival.

She is not merely unpleasant, but unsavory and even dangerous according to the perceptive in her intense interest in herself and in that which is pretty. Has a fascination with death and anything morbid, which marries in a very unfortunate way to her love of all things gorgeous. Her vanity is a thing that is ravenous, a greedy and all-consuming drive for more. As much as she adores beauty in others, it is a thing that she covets for herself and there is little more alluring than the face; especially the eyeballs and hair. If one happens to have eyes or hair she finds alluring and takes a special shine to, well... she'll lurk around until she is able to add them to her collection. She's not keen to outright gouge out people's eyes, let alone cut or rip their precious hair - it requires more care than that. She's patient. She'll wait until the keeper of those pretty eyes or hair dies to harvest them. Which may or may have not been instigated.

Rank: (Unknowing) Tainted Candidate; false princess of Darkpine.

History:
It can be easily argued that Shadalu has never had a home, and it's probable that she never will... At least not a real one. No one can say where her origin really began, but the closest thing to it was an orphanage in the once-capital of Irazu. Christened "Peach" to distinguish her conveniently, she was ultimately just another mouth to feed. The orphanage was only slightly unique, fostering out children when possible to nearby homes or villages and circulating them back in and out as circumstances called for it. Shadalu is only one of an uncountable number of orphans left over from horrible decades of war, there is nothing altogether that outstanding about the beginning of her story. It goes the way many of them do.

She was a fairly normal little girl, or at least as close to normal gets when she was moved from one foster home to another. She enjoyed playing games like Wedding Day, dressing up and making a mess out of any make-up she could get her little fingers on, and pretending to be outrageously glamorous. Bugs, amphibians, and boys annoyed her mostly because she was told they should (but that didn't mean she didn't have a great time being a diva about it). What she loved more than anything, though, was story time.

At a young age her mind was filled with countless fairy tales about kings, queens, princes, princesses and royalty... and for a little girl so young and impressionable, she took right to it and decided she wanted to be royalty. It was adorable erring on obnoxious for years and easy enough to consider normal, but it was something she held on to; it was certainly a good way to ignore the politics and war that bloomed all around her.

Even when one endeavors to ignore conflict, of course, it has a funny way of coming back around to bite.

The Tainted had all but taken the victory from The Academy when she was truly small child, but the vestiges of war were far from over. It wasn't peaceful, exactly, but it was stable. At the ripe age of 12 winters old, things took a turn for the worst at the terror that followed the fall of the Tainted Karma Erebus. Irazu crumbled along with the unexpected fall of the Tainted Regime, and so too did the orphanage she had been staying at. Everything burned, and told to run she left everything behind in the single-minded need to survive.

She wandered in a fugue state for some time before she began wandering in earnest, taking up a nearly mindless hike through the wilds of the land near Irazu twisting her way west along the coast.

After wandering through wilderness and sieged towns alike, she came across one in particular that would become very dear to her. Nestled on a pine-laced, craggy shore the town of Darkpine was quaint, comfortable, and very much unharmed. More importantly, the town was mourning it's fallen royal family. She listened and she learned, and most interestingly she learned of her stunning resemblance to the town's coveted princess. She bent the memory of the fairy tales she once loved to suit her own ends, and after a convoluted series of events managed to be graced with the prized crown in an act of subterfuge... A lovely diamond studded tiara crafted of fine yellow gold became her bonded item, one she was never content to be seen without from that point forward.

From that point forward, she was absorbed into the town as the fabled survivor from royal conflict. She changed her name to match that of the missing princess, Shadalu Darkpine, took on a new persona and dubbed herself "Princess of Darkpine". A false home, a false name, and a false position all came with very real power and very real responsibility. She reveled in the power, and took much less interest in responsibility although she did learn some things.

One of the first things that Shadalu learned was that men were awful. It always seemed to be a man eight times out of ten who was trying to back stab her and remove her from her office, brazenly attempt to court or molest her, or something else absolutely terrible - and what started as earnest fear was quick to morph into outrage. Men, particularly of the hyper-masculine sort, quickly began to lose their place as people and began to be thought of as more like livestock; although they were something to enjoy they were little more than meat. In fact, she tried eating a few of them (more as a means to get rid of them and evidence than as a food source) and was displeased to discover that they didn't even taste particularly poorly which did little bit piss her off and put her off human meat. Of course, livestock was for more than eating... There were shows.

So she became invested in thier beauty, admiring their form if nothing else. She discovered a thrill in skinning them; particularly the long-haired noblemen who came to court her, scalping them and making things of their beautiful hair, keeping their eyes in coveted jars as evidence of her conquest. Neither male, female, nor any being otherwise was completely exempt from her hunt - but men were easily the most hunted of her prey.

Shadalu also learned that her body could be used to very effective ends. Enjoying sexual encounters, she took up the mantel of not initiating them but dominating when approached; she loathed to be dominated by males, but found herself more civil and well-meaning towards females... Indeed, in spite of her loathing for authority, she rather appreciates a dominant woman. She is much more apt to enjoy the company of others who identify as ladies, particularly those who are are physically attractive and/or have a mean streak tucked into their sense of humor. She enjoys playfully teasing and flirting with fellow women, and even enjoys affectionate contact.

These things she's learned? Not quite the most princess-like of behavior.

Convincing who she could that any changes in personality or gaps in knowledge were the cause of terrible trauma was equal parts effective and useless depending on who was given the information; a very mixed turnabout that launched her into a unique situation. It didn't take particularly long for the great castle's core staff to realize that she was an impostor, even as the public reveled in the return of their so-called princess. Those in the township of Darkpine may see her as a figurehead and hero, while others see her as a radical criminal who needs to be put down by any means for her terrorizing (and death) of rich aristocrats and officials.

What will become of her, when she is wanted both dead and alive?
