I noticed this morning that MK.com has a headline that says Mark will be on Ruth Moody's new album. The only problem is that the article doesn't say anything about the album, only about Ruth appearing at all of the RAH and some other European shows! :wallbang:

Also, they have announced "One last Privateering Show." It is to be at the Cap Roig Festival in Spain on July 31. Those lucky folks! :)

The story headline is actually a link to the rest of the story...
Mark on Ruth Moody's new album

When you get to that page Linda..you will find a link to Ruth's site...with more details about the new album.

Thanks, Hops! Mea culpa! I have to admit I didn't look at the expanded article, and it just seemed a bit odd to headline about Ruth, then not mention anything more about what track(s) he was on, or anything else about the album.

Thanks for tracking that down. :waytogo:

I've just downloaded the track Pockets, It's very nice, Ruth is a good singer, and her and Mark's voice blend well. Mark's playing reminds me of So Far From The Clyde, in style and tone.

I find it interesting that Mark's style is so distinctive. Even if I wouldn't have known that he was playing on Pockets, I would have recognized his sound. :) And it is a great song, also. Ruth's voice is so eerie and ethereal - kind of 'other world.'

I agree, there are so many good guitarists in the world that it is difficult to have such a unique sound, but Mark does have that

I previewed what was available on her site and it sounded pretty good. Will have to put the album on my wish list. I like being introduced to new (to me) artists via opening act selection... after all, that's how I learned of Pieta Brown and Bo Ramsey. I also want to check out the Walin' Jennys music.
