MK.com put up a link to an interview Mark did with Redbeard on the 35th Anniversary of the release of the first album, Dire Straits. Here is the link to the web site:

In the Studio with Redbeard

It is a nice interview that was maybe aired in several parts.

Thanks for the link, Linda!
I hadn't noticed the info there. It was really nice to listen to Mark talking about the early days of Dire Straits. There was one thing he said about the background of Sultans that I hadn't heard before. He said he liked people who take a minor situation and turn it into a plus situation. He also said something to the effect that what was great about the jazz band in the empty pub was the fact that they were playing simply because the loved to play, and by playing they liberated themselves.
Well-spoken words, aren't they? Reflect his positive philosophy of life! :)

I've heard other In The Studio clips before, and I though this one wasn't that good, it is the 35th anniversary of the album, and they didn't really talk about the songs other than Sultans of Swing, which is disappointing, I would loved to have hear Mark talk about the other songs more.
