Van Morrison has recorded a duet with Mark for his new album. The album is released 24th March, but if you use the link below to Van's website you can listen to the track with Mark called Irish Heartbeat from 10th March. Van has re-worked some of his old songs and recorded them as duets with some famous names.

You can now listen to the track on Van's website. It is an ok song, nothing really exciting for me, but it does have Mark's wonderful guitar sound, but the last minute of the song just sounds to jumbled, maybe that was what Guy was talking about with the mixing?

I have to say that while I've enjoyed a few things he's done, over all I've never been a fan of Van Morrison.
Having Mark's guitar on a track isn't going to change that (unless of course, Van isn't actually singing on it!). :P

If you're going to lock the other thread on this topic though, wouldn't it be helpful to at least move SuprLinda's excellent post, which includes the track-listing over here?

Van's site has a link to listen to Irish Heartbeat now:

I'm not a real fan of Van, but this is a nice version, with Mark's backup vocals and real nice guitar work.

I won't move the post because as it's only locked people can still read it and if searching for Van Morrison they could see it.

I can only take one song of Van singing, people have said Mark's voice is not up to much, but compared to Van, I'd take Mark's voice every time.

In an interview with British newspaper The Sun, Van says that it was Mark's choice of song to record, and that it didn't suprise Van because Mark has worked a lot in that area, by which I think he means Irish music.
